Re: smith17's Thread Shamshon was a non runner.

2.40 Sandown: Brazos' date= 11/1 Bet365, win
Brazos ran very well lto in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. He was hampered twice in the race and did well to finish fifth. Before that he won a handicap on his seasonal debut off a ten pound lower mark. Second place won nicely nto and then placed in the Sandringham at Ascot. Today's ground and trip should suit. Trainer Clive Brittain had a 12/1 winner yesterday. James Doyle is in the saddle. 2.55 Haydock: Sultanina, 7/1 Ladbrokes, win Sultanina has won both of her races so far. She won her maiden despite being very green throughout. Once she figured out what was required she showed a good turn of foot to get on top close home. Lto she won a Group 3 over c&d. She was slowly away but she responded well when asked to go and she stayed on well to win by a neck from a nto Listed winner. She had a few of today's rivals behind that day and she should confirm that form. Both of her races were on good to soft so hopefully today's ground will suit. Trainer John Gosden is in good form and he has a strong record at Haydock. Robert Havlin is in the saddle.

3.30 Haydock: De Riguer' date= 14/1 BetVictor, e/w
De Riguer won lto over todays trip at Newmarket. He was held up early and when he was asked to quicken he didn't have a clear run. He forced his way through horses and finished very well to get up on the line. He has gone up 4 pounds for that win but I think he would have won with a bit more authority had he had a clear run and so that rise might not be enough to stop him going in again. He has won twice at Haydock from two runs here, including one over c&d. The ground should suit. Trainer Marco Botti is in decent form. Andrea Atzeni has ridden this horse four times winning twice and placing once.

3.50 Sandown: Night Of Thunder' date= 5/1 Paddy Power, win
Night Of Thunder won the 2000 Guineas two runs ago and the form of that race looks very strong. Lto he finished second in the St James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, beaten by the impressive Kingman who he had beaten in the Guineas. He steps up in trip by 2f today but it should suit as he finishes his races well. The ground will suit. Trainer Richard Hannon is in decent form and has a very good record at Sandown. Richard Hughes is in the saddle.

Re: smith17's Thread 1.40 Newmarket: Honor Bound, 18/1 BetVictor, e/w Honor Bound was disappointing lto in the Epsom Oaks. She was in rear throughout and was practically pulled up. Possible excuses can be made however with a first time hood, which isn't on today, possibly not suiting and Epsom is a quirky course which doesn't suit every horse. Before that she won her other two races this season. Fto she won her maiden over 10f on soft ground Windsor, the form of which has worked out quite well. She then went to Lingfield where she won a Listed race by a nose from Criteria, who was beaten ¾L in the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes nto. Today's trip and ground will suit. Trainer Ralph Beckett has a decent record at Newmarket. Jim Crowley is in the saddle. 3.15 Newmarket: Mount Logan, 7/2 BetVictor, win Mount Logan was very impressive lto when he won a handicap over today's trip at Goodwood. He was held up early and started making his move 2f out. He got to the lead over a furlong out and finished very well to win by 2¾L in his first run over a mile and a quarter. That was his first run of the season and he should come on a bit for it. It was also only his fourth start of his career so there should be a bit of improvement to come as well. The ground shouldn't be a problem. Trainer Luca Cumani is in cracking form. Andrea Atzeni is in the saddle. 4.25 Newmarket: Windfast, 6/1 Ladbrokes, win Windfast ran well lto to finish fourth in the Jersey Stakes at Ascot. He had a few of today's rivals behind that day and should confirm that form today. This is just his sixth run so he should have a bit of improvement still to come. The ground will suit. He steps up to a mile for the first time today but he finishes his races well so it should suit. Trainer Brian Meehan is in good form. Jimmy Fortune is in the saddle. 5.30 Newmarket: Arctic Feeling, 16/1 Ladbrokes, e/w Arctic Feeling has been slightly disappointing in his last two runs but his handicap mark has fallen and he now runs off three pounds lower than his last win, which was back in October. He placed off today's mark three runs ago when he was beaten ¾L over 6f at Haydock. Five of his six wins have come over the minumum trip and he drops back to 5f. Paul Hanagan is a great jockey booking and I'm hopeful of a big run today.

Re: smith17's Thread Windfast was a non runner on Thursday and Etaab and Billingsgate were non runners today. Horse Racing Stats Bets: 181 Profitable: 36 S/R: 20% Staked: 185pts Returned: 192.01pts P/L: +7.01pts 1.55 Ascot: Riskit Fora Biskit, 33/1 Boylesports, e/w Riskit Fora Biskit finished sixth in a listed race at Ayr lto. She drops into handicap company for the first time since this day last year when she won over today's trip at Chester. She runs from a four pound higher mark today. Since then she has won a Listed race at Deauville and was beaten just ¼L in a Group 3 at Longchamp. Trainer Michael Bell has had three winners over the last few days, including one here yesterday. Talented five pound claimer Louis Steward is in the saddle. 2.30 Ascot: Mull Of Killough, 10/1 Boylesports, win Mull Of Killough's four runs this year have taken him from Dubai to Newmarket to the Far East to Ascot. He never never got involved in the Godolphin Mile before returning to the UK to win a Group 3, the form of which has worked out quite well. He then went to Singapore and finished seventh in a Group 1. He ran over c&d lto in the Queen Anne Stakes and ran well until the final furlong. He was less than 3L behind today's current market leader Tullius but is 3 pounds better off today which could be enough to reverse that form. He finished second in this race last year. Trainer Jane Chappelle-Hyam and George Baker have teamed up for 5 winners from just 25 runners. Baker has won twice from 3 rides on MOK. 4.15 Ascot: Kinshasa, 5/1 William Hill, win Kinshasa won nicely lto despite getting blocked when he tried to deliver his challenge. He switched left and finished strongly to win by ¾L. He has gone up 5 pounds for that win but he would have won by further with a clear run and I think he could still be ahead of the handicapper. This is only his fifth run so there could be a bit of improvement to come. The trip and ground are ideal. Trainer Luca Cumani is in great form and Luke Morris is in the saddle. 1.40 York: Navajo Chief, 14/1 BetVictor, e/w Navajo Chief loves it at York. He has 4 wins (3 over today's trip) and 3 places from 10 runs here. Lto he won over c&d in a Listed handicap, a race he won last year as well off today's mark. Trainer Tim Jarvis had a winner a few days ago. Kieren Fallon, who has won on this horse three times, is a big plus in the saddle. 2.55 York: Tarikhi, 12/1 Ladbrokes, win Tarikhi finished fifth lto in a decent handicap over 1f short of today's trip on this track in his first run of the season. He ran well and should come on for that run. He finished a ¼L second in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot last year and followed that up with a third place finish over today's trip in a good handicap at Newmarket. This will be his seventh run of his career so there could be a bit of improvement to come. The ground will suit. Trainer Saeed Bin Suroor is in decent form and Kieren Fallon is in the saddle. 2.05 Newmarket: Legend Rising, 8/1 Ladbrokes, win Legend Rising finished eight in the Britannia Stakes lto. A repeat of that performance on ground that will be a lot more to his liking would see him go very close today. Before that he won on soft ground over today's trip at Chester. Trainer Martyn Meade is in decent form and this is his only runner of the day. The in form Freddie Tylicki is in the saddle. 3.50 Newmarket: Noozhoh Canarias, 5/1 Boylesports, win Noozhoh Canarias finished a very creditable sixth in a very hot 2000 Guineas lto. He drops back in trip to 6f which will suit and he should run a very big race today. The ground will suit as he was beaten just ¾L by French 2000 Guineas hero Karakontie on soft ground on Arc day last year. The top class Christophe Soumillon travels over for this one ride.

Re: smith17's Thread World Cup Total Staked: 43pts Returned: 34.4pts P/L: -8.3pts

The Open, outright winner, all e/w paying 7 places. Sergio Garcia, 25/1 William Hill Ian Poulter, 66/1 Paddy Power Ernie Els, 80/1 Paddy Power Mikko Ilonen, 80/1 Paddy Power Rafa Cabrera-Bello, 150/1 William Hill
Sergio Garcia comes into this tournament in very good form. He finished in a tie for twelfth in the BMW International Open, finishing with a score of -19. Before that he finished second in the Travelers Championship and he has a number of top ten finishes this season. He has a good record in this tournament with 7 top 10 finishes since the turn of the century. He finished tied fifth back in 2006 when this course was last used for The Open. I'm convinced Ian Poulter will win a Major at some stage in his career. He has finished in the top 10 of this tournament for the last two years. He also finished second back in 2008 which ties in with this stat posted earlier;
One interesting stat that has been been floating around is that the last 3 winners of the Open at Hoylake were in the Top 5 in the last Open hosted at Royal Birkdale.
He missed the cut at the Scottish Open last week but he was in good form before that. He definitely has the talent to win this weekend and if he puts four good rounds together he will go very close. Ernie Els has a great record in this tournament. He has played in it 23 times and won it twice and has a further 11 top 10 finishes. He has missed the cut just 3 times and his lowest finish was 34th. He finished third back in 2006 when it was last played on this course. His form has been solid in his last few tournaments and I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see him near the top of the leaderboard come Sunday evening. Mikko Ilonen won the Irish Open a few weeks ago. He comes into this tournament on the back of a good showing in the Scottish Open last week where he finished tied for 16th. He finished 16th back in 2006 in this tournament when it was played on this year's course. His game should suit this course and should do well. Rafa Cabrera-Bello is having a good season. He finished second in the BMW International Open a couple of weeks ago, losing out on the fourth play off hole. He has five other top 10 finishes so far this season. He finished 27th in the Scottish Open last week after putting in four solid if unspectacular round of golf. He is decent off the tee and is among the best GIR on the European Tour this season. His putting is pretty good as well and he could be a lively outsider over the next few days.

5.05 Galway: Queen Alphabet' date= 4/1 BetVictor, win
Queen Alphabet has won two of her three runs over hurdles. She has beaten some nice sorts in those wins and there should be a bit of improvement to come. She was a smart performer in NHF races, including a fifth in the Listed Bumper at the Grand National meeting at Aintree last year. Trainer Peter Fahey is in good form and Davy Russell is a big plus in the saddle.

5.20 Goodwood: Lexi's Hero' date= 16/1 Coral, e/w
Lexi's Hero ran quite well lto in a decent handicap at Chester. He was beaten just a head before that agin at Chester. He drops back in trip to 5f but a strongly run 5f should be ideal and he should run well today. Trainer Richard Fahey is in decent form and Ryan Moore is in the saddle.
