Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 Workington v Chester Chester city sit top of the bsn with only 2 points dropped in the past 16 games, yes thats right winning 14/16,they were recently relegated from the conference and had to change there name slightly but i have no doubt at all they will be returning to the highest level of non league football next year, they play workington away on tuesdy night who are in 16th having only beat colwyn bay and altrincham who are not great them self the bet i really like here is the asian handicap with bet365 of -1,1.5 at 1.800 ,at the very least i expect them to win by a goal, but tbth it will more likely be more guiseley v colwyn bay colwyn bay have been in a terrible run of form only picking up 4 points in there past 11 games and 3 of these were against histon who ,at the time were going through a terrible run of form themself, they have lost there past 6 in a row, away from home they are even worse having only picked up 12 points since march 2012 on tuesday they face a brilliant guiseley side who have only dropped 2 points at home since the start of september winning 12/14 drawing the other 2 ,one of these was against higher league oppostion and the other a 3-3 thriller ,the bet i like here is guiseley -1.5 at 1.725

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 Rushall Olympic away at Nantwich Town (6/4 Marathon) I'd been feeding on some lesser prices before Marathon came up with their monster 2.56, but even at 6/4 there's value in the price about Rushall. Combining two themes that came up in the weekend thread, Rushall are on a great run, with great attacking prowess that's working as well away as at home. The second theme is that Nantwich's best work has been away this season, and that they are very much in preparing-for-next-season mode, with a crop of mainly young newcomers coming into the side. It isn't really gelling - as witnessed by the 1-0 defeat on Saturday to a depleted Matlock - and the last thing they need is a Rushall coming into town with a sniff of the play-offs on the back of a seven-match unbeaten run during which they've averaged more than three goals a game.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 Redditch United at home to Banbury United (6/4 widespread, 13/8 Marathon) Two unpredictable sides meet, but I think things might be running in Redditch's direction at the moment. They've generally been woeful at home but the starting XI has a more settled look about it these days, and they were competitive in winning at Chippenham and last time out at home to St Neots. Banbury have been better away, but I can't help thinking that the imminent loss of their owner is having a destabilising effect. Edwin Stein has a decent squad at his disposal, but they haven't been clicking, conceding four in the last two home games. With one or two selection issues for tomorrow night, Banbury look a little light (Stefan Bailey made his debut Saturday but came off injured) and although they have the tools to do the job I'm prepared to oppose them. A quick comment on the Bideford/Bedworth match - Last week, this hastily re-arranged game brought the comment from Bedworth that they couldn't field a team as none of the squad could get time off work. Bideford said it was the only date available, whereas Bedworth weren't expecting a game and the management had already booked time away. I guess they were testing the league's resolve, and once it was announced they faced a fine and points deduction they soon changed their stance - by Sunday night, nine players were saying they could travel, with only two of the squad definitely ruled out, and few more still to commit. It looks likes a slightly depleted team (Mitchell Piggon has picked up a knock) but not the collection of stiffs and loan signings it was looking like. Bideford - who were unlucky not get something at St Albans on Saturday - will fancy this, and they were value at the initial 4/6 but that's gone now and if anything a Bedworth side on top for long periods against Gosport on Saturday are probably value at 5/1 with BetVics, though it's a no bet for me.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 Agree with everything there. also with rod McDonald leaving for Hereford a couple of weeks ago, nantwich look particularly weak at the back and Adam carden returning to Fylde after a loan spell suggest nantwich won't be to ambitious for the rest off the season, don't be surprised more of the nantwich squad depart in the coming weeks. I can see them struggling for the rest of the season.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20

all over wealdstone -1.5 tonight v lewes' date='home record speaks for itself with lewes not being the greatest of sides i expect the 1.5 on offer at 2.050 with bet365 to come in[/quote'] Excellent call, jimboc90! A nice welcome back for Richard Jolly, just in time for the run-in.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 Three 2nd goal sells for me tonight on the spreads... Kidderminster Harriers away at Forest Green Rovers - set at 80 with Sporting and Spreadex. A very tight game that I can't call, but both sides have the attacking prowess to score and defensively I think FGR don't function as efficiently as they might at home (the opposition can expect chances to come their way). It's a punchy play at this mark, but the downside is limited. Mansfield Town away at Hyde - I doubt if Mansfield will play this one cagily. Hyde have only managed only one clean sheet at home since their first home game in August, and the firepower that Mansfield have means they'll be under a lot of pressure at times. I've sold the time of the Mansfield 2nd at 70 with Sporting. Stockport County at home to Tamworth - the time of the 2nd Stockport goal is 74 to sell with Sporting and Spreadex and that's a decent mark. It's quite hard to read too much into the all-change regimes at both clubs, but Tamworth conceded two at Newport and three at Telford (as well as scoring healthily in both games), suggesting that the shackles have come off a bit. They are also a touch light in midfield, where I expect the home side to be on top. Stockport have been reasonably progressive at home to Nuneaton and away at Wrexham, though the Ebbsfleet game was spoiled by the early red card. I am also a buyer of total goals in this one at 2.85 (Sporting and Spreadex).

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 The latest on the Bedworth situation tonight is that a number of local players have signed forms, probably to fill the bench, so they'll be travelling with a full squad (10 first-team squad members definites with three to confirm). They've also got Steve Farmer's brother to manage the team - he's the boss of Nuneaton Griff. Key striker Mitchell Piggon is travelling tonight. In the circumstances, you'd have to make Bideford heavyish favourites but I think the market has gone a bit too far in their direction, though there was a touch of value in Marathon's initial offering of 4/6.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 Hyde v Mansfield I opposed Hyde on Saturday and backed Mansfield and I will be doing exactly the same tonight. Hyde were outplayed by Kidderminster when losing 4-0 and Mansfield ended up easy winners against Cambridge United. Earlier in the season I would not have gone near Mansfield at odds on away from home, but they look a different proposition now and just like last season they seem to be coming good in the second half. With Hyde struggling for form it will be disappointing if this game wasn't an away win and William Hill go 19/20. Harrogate v Droylsden Droylsden have only picked up two points away from home all season, they have lost 10 on the bounce and it has been 13 games since they have won. It really doesn't take a genius to work out that we should see a home win here. Harrogate are in really good form at the moment and look as if they should get a play-off place, as long as their massive backlog of games don't catch up with them. Obviously they are long odds on to win this, but Blue Square are 10/11 on the ht/ft double result and that is out of line with others (it is as short as 40/85 with Boylesports), it also looks decent value. Paddy Power are 6/4 on the -2 handicap and that is also worth an interest. Sutton v Basingstoke The home side have really clicked in recent weeks and their only defeat in their last six games was against league leaders Salisbury. Last week they beat second place Welling and they are making a late bid for the play-offs. They look solid bets given Basingstoke's dodgy away form which has led to only two wins on their travels this season. BetVictor are odds against at 21/20 and they deserve to be odds on.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 One player goal minute trade tonight: Chris Sharp at 18 to buy with Sporting. He's only played a few times for Hereford but he is looking a whole lot sharper than he did early season for Telford. Ebbsfleet are the kind of defence who allow you a few chances; with three in three, Sharp is sure find himself on the business end of things a couple of times tonight.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 It really is all change at Nantwich. Jason Oswell has departed today but they've brought in three new bodies - that could bring the total number of debutants to seven in four days. More ins and outs are promised by the weekend. "We are all working really hard to find the right players that will enable us to finish the season strongly and, more importantly, lay a firm foundation for next season," says the director of football on their official site. That 'more importantly' gives the game away - this is a side preparing for 2013/2014.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 Macclesfield Town have been playing quite well at home, winning 3, drawing 2, and losing just 1. A total of 9 goals have been scored by the Silkmen in those games, with 5 conceded. The away form of Luton Town is pretty dire, accumulating just 1 victory and 1 draw from their last six played. Hatters have conceded 8 goals in these games, and only hit 2 in reply. Macclesfield Town lie just outside the playoff positions in the Blue Square (Conference) Premier, picking up 47 points from their 31 games so far.,and J think Macclesfield win

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20

Breaking news is that Paul Buckle has left luton for personal reasons and is unrelated to the club. Sent from my HTC Desire S using PL Forum
BBC reporting it as 'mutual consent'..now they are out of the cup there is no reason he should still be in a job, Luton looking at another wasted season.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 My bets tonight are: Sutton to beat Basingstoke @ 1/1 in much better form last few games and beat a high flying Welling, which not many teams have done this season. Rushall to win at Nantwich @ 7/5 18 goals in last six games they are flying. Nantwich have dropped off the pace in recent weeks. +2.5 goals double Nuneaton v Alfreton & Bideford v Bedworth @ 2.92 i think Bath at 8/5 could beat Eastbourne so will have a small dabble. Also done Northampton @7/5 to bt Wimbledon in league.

BBC reporting it as 'mutual consent'..now they are out of the cup there is no reason he should still be in a job' date=' Luton looking at another wasted season.[/quote'] The full statement says it is for personal reasons and nothing to do with his ability as a manager. Last week they said they weren't going to sack him as they wanted stability. I am sure Kev will be on here to tell us more.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20

addpea what you think now abouth macclesfield win?
I did have Macclesfield on my shortlist as it was easy to see why Luton hadn't won since Norwich on Saturday, but I thought the price was about right. After this news it could go one of two ways and it looks a game to stay well clear of.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 Mixed night for me with none of the five spread trades coming off - my goal expectations were too high again, perhaps indicating that there's a general tightening as we get to the business end of the season. Redditch failed on the fixed odds, but I played Rushall in quite a few places tonight across the prices and got a decent return - this has been a cracking month on the fixed odds. Great calls by addpea on Sutton and Mansfield tonight.
