Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan MK Dons really 6/1 to beat us! I would have expected about 9/2 tops, ok we are 2 leagues apart and we haven't been beaten in 5 games however we have to play Man City 3 days later in a game we must get points. I am sure we will make a few changes in the game vs MK Dons and use a similar line up to that which beat WBA last week. Not saying we will lose as i really hope we win, but i didn't expect the price to be that large. Another bet for me would be Millwall to bt Villa on Friday night, Villa be shattered after they face Bradford in the CC semi final 2nd leg on Tuesday night. The New Den will be a difficult place to go Friday night.

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan

MK Dons really 6/1 to beat us! I would have expected about 9/2 tops' date=' [/quote'] Totally agreed very good price for Franchise FC, very good 'value' in fact...but the concept of 'value' means nothing on a singular pick if you do not think they are actually going to win. It really has to be done on a regular basis across a multi-league system to make it work and even then yield is low so to make a decent profit you have to bet tonnes. If I had to bet on this game I would be looking to get on only one team to score. I cannot see them coming at the R's and showed in lasy years games in the Cup that they are capable of containing them. Anything approaching 2.00 with a decent bookie and I might have a nibble on only one team to score. Stanley's are the only ones that have cottoned onto this and have entered at 1.80 and stayed there. Several of the others have come down from 2.00 since Sunday to around 1.90 showing some interest or at least that the odds makers have got a little shy.

Initially I'd have to say I agree that MK Dons are certainly capable of pulling off a "shock" against Rangers... If you can call it a shock, as I suspect they'll be a favourite here. My only worry is that Redknapp usually does well against lower league sides in a cup competition, although they don't need the cup and the money it brings, a cup run could do wonders for morale. They'll probably play a nice blend of footballers that 'Arry knows will want to win, and he will have probably already written off the game against City as one they won't win anyway so I'm not sure having that game on the horizon is much to worry about. But I do agree that they look good to cause a shock :ok One other potential shock for me is Aldershot away to Boro. It's a huge price currently on offer here. I'm not sure Boro really need or want a prolonged cup run either. Coupled with their ongoing injury list I can see Aldershot getting something for sure. I would expect Boro to mix the side up again, and playing Aldershot (while they're no world beaters) will probably still be ten times harder than the previous opposition. I'd wager Aldershot can at least force a replay. Barnsley away to Hull, and Huddersfield are two others that attract me. Hull were flying in the Championship of late, but suffered a set back at home to Wednesday at the weekend. I think with them and Leicester, they're both probably looking past this season to promotion to the Premier League. Neither need the money as such, and both clubs (for me at least :) ) sneaked past Orient and Burton respectively in the previous round. They're now faced with a couple of tough matches against sides that are of a much higher quality than their opponents in the previous round. I'd wager both Barnsley and Huddersfield can at least, similarly to Aldershot, force a replay.

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan Jase, i dont agree about the game we have against Man City, 'arry cant write off any games, and last season we beat 3 of the top 5 at home, so certainly capable and were leading on both games vs Man City losing 3-2 in both I think Saturday will be a difficult game for the squad, as not sure Remy can play so its Jay Bothroyd up front if Remy can't play. Definitely some tasty ties to look at though. Sheff Utd should get a 2nd look away to reading.

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan

Trick with the cups these days is to bet against teams that are going to rest players and dont take it 100% seriousley. QPR' date=' Norwich, Boro and Man U will possibly all play weakened teams.[/quote'] Man United weakened?! But their weaker players will be Rooney, Chicarito, Anderson, Valencia, Young....:) Plus, I am not really sure Fulham will be full strength - they are already relegation candidate, they play relegation rival West Ham on Wednesday and immediately after that they host Man United again, meaning that if they lose both games they will probably end up below the line.

Indeed, plus United host Southampton a few days later. So no need to rest some players. I think we see Chicharito starting with Rooney behind. I also expect Anderson and Valencia to play plus Smalling and Jones. Smalling and Jones did really well in their last match plus Jones was United's best player against Spurs.

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan Red Devil, as I did not see the game with WH, could you tell me if it was as close as the score suggests?! Were there good chances for the visitors and how was Untied in the back, especially at set pieces?! I have the feeling that this one will be much easier than expected. Fulham are not only fragile at the back, but they are kind of slow and predictable. And I am not confident they will play with their best.

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan Millwall favorites against Aston Villa ? I know the f.a cup is a different competition and villa put a fair bit into the capital cup but millwall have won 2 of their last 9 championship games and got beaten by barnsley at home i mean please. I will wait for the teams but at this early stage i think unders and maybe a lay of millwall.

United did some changes as expected. west Ham did also do a few changes like Nolan on the bench or leaving Noble out of this match entirely (I think he had a virus). United went it front after just a few minutes through Rooney. The match wasn't great. West Ham gave their best and took some shots but none of them were dangerous. United had 1-2 good chances to score plus a penalty Rooney missed badly shoting over the cross bar. Smalling and Jones were great as they were the centre-backs for this match. They bossed their opponent's strikers. So a 2-0 wouldn't be totally underserved but 1-0 was also ok. Fulham are very poor right now. I cannot see Martin Jol remaining there coach if they don't get some good results. Fulham have no great team and I cannot see them having enough to get a draw. They have some decent strikers on paper, but their midfield and also their defence don't look good to me. I doubt Ferguson will rest all players wnad play youth players. He said they have to do better in the FA Cup as their last triumph was 10 years ago. I expect Chicharito to play upfront with Rooney behind. Something like this: -------------de Gea--------------- Rafael- Smalling-Jones- Evra/Buttner Valencia-Anderson-Cleverley-Nani --------------Rooney-------------- -------------Chicharito------------- Maybe he will field Lindegaard instead of de Gea. Also possible to see Evans playing again as a centre-back. Bench should be: Lindegaard, Vidic/Ferdinand, Evans, Carrick, Scholes, Welbeck, van Persie

Couldn't agree more Mr Stats. On top of what you've already put it looks like we could be about to lose Darius Henderson and with Andy Keogh recently coming back from injury and not looking fully fit I think we could really struggle to score. I won't back against my team but Villa to win to nill or backing Villa outright depending on the team they put out seem sensible. I'll be going for unders at around evens with various.

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan Brentford - Chelsea I will follow here a very simple, but very consistent pattern exhibited by Chelsea under Benitez - after a disappointing game, they strongly bounce back away from home against a lesser team. 5:1 in Leeds, 4:0 in Stoke, 5:1 in Southampton - and now they face a team much weaker at least than the last two. Add to this the fact that Benitez does not have the habit to disregard Cup competitions and rest players purportedly to keep them for Premier League games - in fact, he rested important starters against QPR in the Premier League and played a full squad team for the FA cup against Southampton several days later. Chelsea -1.5; -2 @ 2.025 (bet 365)

Having thought about this a lot I've decided to LAY Millwall at 2.66. I just don't see how they can be favourites here to Villa. The natural thought process would be to oppose them here as they're probably on a low after their defeat to Bradford in the Capital Cup. However I think they may look at this tie as a way to regain some confidence and I can see them being up for it as a contest. I think the odds should probably be reversed here, and Villa are good enough for a replay at least, as Millwall are too short IMO.

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan 4pts Stoke (+0.75AH) to beat Man City 1.97 Bet365 I think Stoke have every chance of getting some kind of result in this match be it a win or a replay. Conditions aren’t going to be easy with snow forecast so the pitch is likely to be heavy and cut up which won’t help Man City much but shouldn’t bother Stoke too much as they can play through the air if needs be. With Stoke’s home record being as strong as it is this isn’t a game I want to be taking them on with a side who are odds on so I’ll back Stoke to get some sort of result here. Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan We (Leeds) are playing some awful, awful football at the minute. If we don't turn up on Sunday, it could be similar to the Chelsea mauling last year. 17/10 on Spurs -1 seems pretty generous to me. Morale is low, key players want out and our lack of pace will be massively exploited by Spurs' speed and strength. I don't feel the current starting 11 have the guts that our league one team had when faced with Premier league opposition. Spurs -1 @ 17/10 (William Hill)

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan 5pts Man Utd (-1) to beat Fulham 9/10 Stan James This isn’t exactly a tie which catches the imagination and I expect it to be a pretty routine win for United. Fulham’s travel woes are pretty well documented and United go into this game in good form. They look set to play a strong side which is half the battle and I would be very surprised if they don’t win this by at least a couple of goals to make sure they don’t get drawn into replays and stuff. Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan I believe that a Premier League side will lose to a non-league side sooner rather than later and as we saw when Mansfield played Liverpool and Crawley played Man U in a one off game the best of non-league can give anyone a game. Luton tend to play better against better teams and I believe Norwich are resting some players tomorrow so I am happy to lay Norwich. I actually think Macclesfield have a real chance of beating a Wigan side who struggled to see off Bournmouth in the previous round and I can see them getting a draw at least so again I will lay Wigan.

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan Bolton-Everton over 2.5 @1.78 7/10 Pinnacle Bolton are really struggling in the league this term. They are the worst away side joint by Bristol City. At home, they are better with a 6-5-3 record but that is still not good at all. Despite being 14 points behind the play-off zone, they have managed to get into the 4th round of the FA Cup after beating Sunderland away from home. Bolton will again field their best side.Bolton concede a lot of goals but they also score quite a lot of goals. Everton come with the aim of a good cup run. They fielded their besat side in the last round when they played 4th tier team Cheltenham away from home which they won 4-1. Everton do score a lot of goals while their defence isn't as great as it was some time ago. They have only managed to keep clean sheets in just 4 of their 23 Premier League matches. As I saw this match, I had immerdiately a result of 1-2 or 1-3 in mind. I expected odds of about @1.65 for the over 2.5, so this one has a lot of value considering both teams being not the best in defence. GL

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan What is your opinion about this double : Everton win and Over 2,5 - 2,50 Arsenal win and Over 2,5 - 2,30 both odds from Bet365 Bolton have problems in the league and wouldn't be surprise if they don't push too hard for FA Cup match, especially when they face inform team as Everton. I'm not saying that there is no chanse for upset , it's FA Cup after all... but I like the chances of Everton. In the other game Arsenal faces a team that allready create a surprise as Brighton knocked out Newcastle in the last round. But Gunners allready are out from one cup competition, and had to play replay with Swansey to get to this round of FA Cup, so all of that make me believe that Venger will choose a strong squad to get the job done in this meeting. The double pays 5,75 and I think it is worth a try. Good luck everyone!

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan Brighton vs Arsenal: Both Teams To Score @ 4/5 (Stan James:4pts) Fancy Brighton to give us a real game here. They were great vs Newcastle in the last round, crowd getting behind them, playing the ball on the deck and looking up for it. Think they can cause us problems today, we are usually good to leak a goal so I can see Brighton scoring. We will also play to win, team should be fairly strong, I can only see a few changes at best but mostly a first team. Odds look fine on BTTS here, I'll take it.

Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan I wonder your thoughts about Hull-Barnsley. Hull is great at the leagues and Barnsley is at the relegation zone. Of course it's FA Cup but I see that Barnsley have some other serious problems at the moment. On the other hand, as Jase82 stated above, the first priority for Hull is promotion of course. However, I don't see any reason for Hull not to take this one seriously. I guess they may want to move next level in the competition. On the other hand, Hull's next match is against Millwall away at Febuary 2, one week from now. The odds are about 1.70 for home win now, which is good for me.

Reading to beat Sheffield United 1.78 @ Betfair - I think 1.78 is a fair price for Reading here. They will be full of confidence after three straight wins against Crawley, West Brom and Newcastle. In those 3 games they have scored 8 goals. Sheffield United are not in good form as they have drawn 2 and lost 2 of their last 4 league games. I was expecting 1.6 for Reading here so I will take 1.78 on offer at Betfair. Sent from my iPhone using PL Forum app
