Peacock's Punting 2013

Recommended Posts

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Poor day so far, today, hoping the old boy Dvinksy can improve it. :) Sat 19th Jan 2013 3.30 Kempton (10 runners) William Hill - No.1 Downloaded Betting App Handicap Class 6, 7f , Standard, 4yo+, Win: £2264 1) SPINNING RIDGE (57) - 70 runs on the AW and 9 wins but not won a handicap for a long time. Has dropped down the weights but hard to make a case for. 2) MAMBO SPIRIT (57) - Didn't beat a rival home in last 3 starts. At a career low mark and claimer takes 5lbs off but looks to be regressing and on 14 run losing streak. 3) WELSH INLET (57) - Just 1/24 on the AW and that win was over C&D 3 runs ago and 3lb higher than that today but claimer takes off 5lbs. Chance. 5) ROGUE REPORTER (56) - Yet to win in 19 starts, 11 of them on the AW. Has landed some place money in the past but probably needs more of a hand from the handicapper. 6) KATMAI RIVER (56) - Both wins on the AW came back in 2011 off 57 and 54. Not much in recent form screams today will be the day, but claimer does take 7lbs off and if fancying it, could go close. 7) DVINKSY (55) - The old war horse adds another figure to his runs todau and has been dropped 4lbs since 5/7 LTO. His last win came over C&D off 62 back in May. Now back to a class 6 7f and has done well off similar marks. 8) JUSTBOOKIES DOTNET (55) - Trainer just 1/48 last 2 years. Looks on the downgrade and big odds recently. 9) JACKIE LOVE (51) - Won on penultimate start in similar event but very disappointing LTO in a Cl7 and will need to ignore that to make any case for. 10) MICHAELS NOOK (48) - Ran well last twice in Cl7's, takes another 1lb drop in the weights which means he's now 2lb lower than last winning mark. 11) BACK FOR TEA (45) - On feather weight with jockey's claim but yet to get head in front in 22 starts. Held on previous attempts at similar level though. ========= Definitely not one to get too involved with, but DVINSKY is worth a point at a nice price. Is 9lb lower than when last seen at this distance and grade and 7lbs lower than last C&D win. WELSH INLET, if bouncing back to most recent C&D success can also put up a good show. DVINKSY 1pt E/W @ 14/1 (BOG) WELSH INLET 1pt WIN @ 10/3 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Sat 19th Jan 2013 5.05 Kempton (8 runners) William Hill - Download The App Handicap (Div 2) Class 6, 6f , Standard, 4yo+, Win: £226 1) WHIPPHOUND (55) - Not won a handicap yet, has been dropping down the weights and now on a career low mark but can't have any confidence in. 2) RYEDALE DANCER (55) - Seems to do most of his winning in the summer and looks held at this mark (3lb higher than last winning mark). 3) JONNIE SKULL (54) - Is 0/14 in January races and wins seem few and far between these days. 4) SHERJAWY (52) - On 40 race losing streak. Mark subsequently dropped but looks up against it on recent form. Weighted to reverse LTO form with JONNIE SKULL. 6) ARTFUL LADY (50) - Back down to 6f after 2 unsuccesful attempts at 7f following a win at Wolverhampton in Novmeber. Trip a positive but weight looks against him with no claimer on board. 7) SLATEY HEN (49) - Just the one handicap win to her name, very consistent round here (2443233) and today's mark is the lowest of any of those runs. 8) FANTASY FIGHTER (47) - Won 6 times on the AW but last of those was well over two years ago. Looks fully exposed. 11) FLYING KITTY (45) - Big odds for all recent defeats, hard to see why anything will change today. ======================== SLATEY HEN is just about worth an each way punt. Goes well round here and has a good chance of some place money. SLATEY HEN 1pt E/W @ 13/2 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Sun 20th Jan 2013 3.55 Kempton (8 runners) BetVictor Exclusive Antepost Offer Cheltenham 2013 Handicap Class 5, 1m3f , Standard, 4yo+, Win: £2588 1) ONEOFAPEAR (75) - This is a drop in grade, has been campaigning for most of career in better races. Has won two handicaps on the turf off 78 and 82, but has struggled since, despite slipping mark. 2) REFLECT (73) - Disappointing LTO but respectable 2nd on penultimate start. Looks to be up against it. 3) ADIYNARA (72) - Some form in Ireland and in hurdles in the UK but this dsiatnce is an unknown and not one to get involved with. 4) ST IGNATIUS (72) - 5 wins on the AW coming between 5f and 1m4f. Latest win came off 73 over 1m4f. Last run was disappointing and can't see him popping up at this mark. 5) BRUNSTON (72) - Won a handicap off 80 at Wolverhampton in February last year, struggled since then despite getting dropped down the weights. Can't fancy today. 6) PURPLE N GOLD (74) - Finished 131 round here and is 3/6 on the AW. In this context the LTO win was impressive and runs off the same mark today when taking into account the the claimer on board. Big chance. 7) ROWAN RIDGE (68) - Seems a consistent sort who has two AW wins to his name, both in Cl6 events. Usually finds one too good at this level. 8) BROWN PETE (67) - Landed hat trick at back end of last year. Upped significantly for those wins and looks held at this mark. ========== There are a couple with some sort of chance but if PURPLE N GOLD can reproduce LTO form, he should take all the beating. PURPLE N GOLD 3pt WIN @ 6/4 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Not sure if this will go ahead so looked at a small race, just in case. :) Mon 21st Jan 2013 1.20 Kempton (5 runners) Get The BetVictor App Fillies' Handicap Class 5, 6f , Standard, 4yo+, Win: £2588 1) LITTLE CHINA (67) - Won a maiden on 2nd start over 5 furlongs. Lightly raced but looks exposed, despite drop in weights. 2) CHARMING (65) - Won twice over 5f but form in AW handicaps at this level reads 690. Was just behind LIBERAL LADY LTO and with no claimer on board today, is hard to make a case for. 3) LIBERAL LADY (62) - 0/6 over 6 furlongs and still higher in the weights than any of best form. Jockey does seem to get the best out of her though. 4) CLIMAXFORTACKLE (62) Turned out quickly and been running consistenly of late (3223) without ever getting head in front. 0/12 at 6f. 5) BEACH CANDY (58) - Despite what the Sporting Life says, this is the only animal in the field to have won at 6f. On a hat-trick after two class 7 wins in two days. Seems an all or nothing type. ======================= Probably shouldn't be getting involved with this race, but BEACH CANDY won well last twice and just tipped the scales in here favour and despite being in tougher company, looks to have a very good chance of the hat-trick. BEACH CANDY 2pt WIN @ 13/8 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Tue 22nd Jan 2013 1.50 Lingfield (8 runners) Lingfield Park Owners Group Handicap Class 2, 5f , Standard, 4yo+, Win: £12291 1) SWISS CROSS (101) - Would take a career best effort to win today, last winning mark was 94 and is 0/5 over 5f. 2) FRATELLINO (100) - Has won a listed event here over 5f. Been runnin over 6f recently and dropped back down to 5f now which can only help. 3) WOOLFALL SOVEREIGN (96) - Running well of late landing two class 3 events and finishing 2nd by a head inbetween those. There is a lot going for him today - jockey is 4.8 on board him, he's 4/6 in January and 3 from 3 over 5f. Runs off a career high mark today but has to be there or thereabouts. 4) BAJAN TRYST (93) - Has the ability to land a race like this. Back down to 5f which has to be a positive. 5) EVEN STEVENS (92) - Has great AW strike rate (7/13) but last two runs have been very disappointing. Has a chance on best of AW form (namely Southwell 3rd a year ago) but can't really make a strong case for. 6) MOORHOUSE LAD (85) - All wins have come on a straight 5f and last win was in 2010 and 18 runs ago. Have to go back to 2007 for last win on the AW. 7) SIX WIVES (80) - Has never won higher than a class 4 and looks out of his depth. 8) ALASKAN BULLET (79) - Lightly raced and open to improvement but two races at this level and hasn't beaten a rival. ============================== A nice race for a Tuesday and for me, it's impossible to see past WOOLFALL SOVEREIGN here who has a lot of positives which are hard to ignore. Challenges could come from BAJAN TRYST and FRATELLINO, with the former being worth a small E/w saver, but the George Margerson trained bay should have enough to see off these. WOOLFALL SOVEREIGN 3pt WIN @ 5/4 (BOG) BAJAN TRYST 1pt E/W @ 7/1 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Good performance from WOOLFALL SOVEREIGN today - looked all but beaten 1f out but came to win in the last 100 yards. Drifted nicely out to 2/1, too!
Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Wed 23rd Jan 2013 3.30 Lingfield (8 runners) Blue Square Bet Handicap Class 4, 7f , Standard, 4yo+, Win: £4690 1) DOC OF THE BAY (84) - Takes a drop in grade today since winning a listed event in November 2011 over 6f here. Has obvious chance now 19lbs lower than that win, but has looked out of form. 2) DECENT FELLA (83) - Has enough form from earlier in his career to win this but looks out of sorts at the moment, 3) DELFT (83) Very consistent on the AW but looks just about held at this mark and would need to ignore last run to make a case for. 4) PRINCE OF BURMA (78) - Is 0/12 at this level and looks up against compared with some of these. 5) SCOTTISH LAKE (78) - Taken a hike in the wake thanks to two wins over 7f in the Autumn. 6f LTO looked too short and in with a definite shout from a good draw. Goes well fresh. 6) ALS MEMORY (77) - On a hat-trick after two C&D wins earlier in the month. Up in grade now though and 0/6 when at this level. 7lb claimer from LTO win now off so effectively up 10lbs, does seem in form though. 7) AL KHAN (70) - Lightly raced but has disappointed on all 4 AW starts. 8) KEY AMBITION (70) - Been dropping down the weights since initial maiden success. Hard to see him getting nose in front here. ===================== A few that can be considered here, but preference is for SCOTTISH LAKE who is well drawn and goes well fresh. LTO at 6f on hte Fibresand didn't seem ideal and has a very good E/W chance (hoping for no NR's) SCOTTISH LAKE 1pt E/W @ 11/2 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Fri 25th Jan 2013 1.30 Lingfield (9 runners) lingfieldpark.co.uk Handicap Class 6, 5f , Standard, 4yo+, Win: £2045 1) ATLANTIC BEACH (60) - Been disappointing of late. Has won off higher but 4/48 career not inspiring. 2) VOLCANIC DUST (58) - Yet to win on the AW. Tried at 6f LTO but 6L 8/11. Ran well in December here also over 5f when a short head second. Chance if can reproduce that form but not certain by any means. 3) SECRET MILLIONAIRE (58) - Big odds last 4 starts and put in appropriate performances. Dropped to this grade for first time in career and at career low mark, but looks on a downward curve 4) BEACH CANDY (58) - On hat trick after two c7 wins at Kempton latest. Had entry yesterday. 5) RUSSIAN BULLET (57) - 5lbs lower than sole handicap win but recent form doesn't scream he'll be winning today. 6) JOHNNY SPLASH (57) - Ran 3 days ago finished 2/4 in a seller over C&D. Hard to make a case for at these weights. 7) SPEEDYFIX (56) - Very consistent of late but no help from handicapper. Just the one win in handcaps which came on the turf off 52. 8) SHERJAWY (52) - On a 41 run losing streak. Patches od form recently gives him a chance but can't have any confidence in. 9) RED RAMESSES (52) - Yet to win in 9 starts but decent in 5f maiden when 2/8 on penultimate start. Maybe worth a squeak in this company and back at 5f. ======================== Lightly RED RAMESSES is dropped to a 5f race today and showed arguably best form at Wolverhampton on sole start at this distance. Is worth taking a chance on. I fancied BEACH CANDY earlier in the week when racing was abandoned and think he could land the hat-trick if improving enough. RED RAMESSES 1pt E/W @ 17/2 (BOG) BEACH CANDY 1pt E/W @ 9/2 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Fri 25th Jan 2013 7.00 Wolverhampton (8 runners) coral.co.uk Mobile Casino Handicap Class 6, 7f , Standard To Slow, 4yo+, Win: £1941 1) BASSETT ROAD (71) - Won well LTO over C&D and had been knocking on the door before that. Up 6lbs since latest and a chance if dealing with the penalty. 2) ABHAATH (64) - Turned out quickly after 2/5 in seller latest. Winner of that one won another seller yesterday. Does OK at this level and looks to have a good E/W chance with claimer taking off 7lbs. 3) BUSSA (62) - Very consistent of late finishing 1112 in last 4 races and going off as facourite each time. Handicapper looks to have just about checked his winning progresss. 4) GREEN MITAS (62) - Yet to win in 18 starts on the turf and AW. Has come closest over C&D but lasr few runs have suggested he may be struggling for form. 5) FIGHTER BOY (60) - Has contested some decent races a while ago and finished 2/8 in in a listed event at Newmarket back in April 2010. Latest C&D effort as 7/2F was disappointing but should strip fitter for that and another 5lbs dropped. 6) KAI (58) - 100/30 winner LTO over C&D and up 5lbs for that. Has generally struggled from this mark in the past though. 7) NANT SAESON (57) - Won off 55 three starts ago over C&D. Up in trip for two subsequent runs and never really involved. Back down to 7f here though. 8) BOY THE BELL (56) - Another contender who won LTO over C&D. Up 3lbs for that and should be in with a shout. ============================= A case could be made for many of these and as such is not one to get heavily involved with. However, ABHAATH could go well at a nice price. Has been running OK in reasonnbly warm claimer/seller and is now effectively at career low mark. Blinkers tried for first time today and can hopefully outrun his odds. ABHAATH 1pt E/W @ 14/1 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Sat 26th Jan 2013 1.15 Cheltenham (16 runners) Murphy Group Chase (Grade 3 Handicap) Grade 3, 2m5f , Soft, 5yo+, Win: £28475 1) POQUELIN (160) - Won 5 from 15 starts at Cheltenham, pulled up latest outing here and unproven on ground this soft. 2) BOLD SIR BRIAN (155) - Has won last two small field outings over varying distances. Ground look ideal (1421111) but he hasn't really ran in fields this big, nor at Cheltenham. This seems a step up but could deal with it. 3) CHANCE DU ROY (150) - Is P5420 at this level and can't be fancied. 4) QUANTITIVEEASING (150) - Won over C&D at the back end of 2011. Last run (also C&D) was disappointing and can't see him getting nose in front here. 5) BLESS THE WINGS (150) - Has won both starts since winter re-appearance, improving both times. Looks like he needs better ground though. 6) KATENKO (147) - Three starts in the UK, latest was a good win at Sandown. Up 9lbs for that victory and a lively contender. 7) PACHA DU POLDER (147) - 16L second behind BOLD SIR BRIAN LTO. Can't see it getting competitive today. 8) OUR MICK (145) - Off the track since last March, shown consistency since been switched to fences but is maybe a touch too high in the weights. 9) NADIYA DE LA VEGA (145) - Best form on better ground. Won here over 2m4f in October but this tougher. 10) SHOEGAZER (144) - Ground should be fine but has struggled at this level in the past and doesn't seem to get Cheltenham. Won decent listed event at Newton Abbott on penultimate start but 9lbs higher for that. 11) FRUITY OROONEY (139) - This looks too tough, best win was in a class 2. 20L behind Katenko LTO, reopposed 1 stone better off but still hard to fancy. 12) TARTAK (138) - Plumeting handicap mark and has won round here. 7lb lower than when finishing 4/14 over C&D in December. E/W Squeak but ground a slight concnern. 13) QUINCY DES PICTONS (136) - Another one who looks outclassed in this company. Especially from this mark. 14) HELLS BAY (135) - Ground not ideal and 1/8 round here with that win being a Gr2 Novice chase two years ago. Not hard to discount. 15) FRONTIER SPIRIT (135) - Been improving of late and easily won at FFos Las LTO on heavy ground in a c3 event. This obvioulsy much tougher (only won in C3s) and U0 here (both those C2s). 16) TULLAMORE DEW (133) - 6772935f920PPU at this level and can't see him getting involved today. ========================= KATENKO looks to be open to improvement and is taken E/W to be right up there come the finish. TARTAK could be in with a chance on today's mark and has E/W chances. KATENKO 2pt E/W @ 9/2 (BOG) TARTAK 1pt E/W @ 20/1 (BOG)

Been put up a total of 13lbs since the new year. 3) THE BLACK JACOBIN (64) - Yet to win in 12 starts and seems held. 4) BETZYOUCAN (60) - Finished a decent 3rd at Southwell in a nursery off 66. Down to 60 now but probably more needed. ========================== BUY ART looks to be in with a shout if building on maiden form but has been off course for a while and preference is for LAGER TIME who has been performing well of late and should go very well back at 6f. Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Decent day today thanks to Katenka's nice performance at Cheltenham. Lager Time almost made it a perfect but was nabbed on the line. Nothing tomorrow so seems a good time to update. Still a chance of finishing off the month in the black. Might start posting in BBOTD and DHRC next month seeing as though I'm not completely embarassing myself.
Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Day off today so going to look at a few races hopefully.... Mon 28th Jan 2013 1.50 Kempton (11 runners) Get The BetVictor App Handicap Class 5, 1m , Standard, 4yo+, Win: £2588 1) GREYFRIARSCHORISTA (75) - Decent strike rate on the AW and when down at this sort of level. Just 1 win at RH tracks. Chance on form from a few years ago but last run a worry. 2) COPPERWOOD (75) - Been campaigning in C4's of late but seems held from this mark - all hcap wins have come from at least 3lbs lower. 3) MASTER MYLO (74) - Off course since November. Won off a higher mark than today's on the flat. Taken a drop in the weights but doesn't go particulary well fresh. 4) TAKE TWO (74) - AW debut after trying hand over hurdles lately and the flat turf. Won twice on the turf off today's mark but no claimer on board today makes this tougher, and have to watch only. 5) MASAI MOON (74) - 0/6 ay Kempton, 0/5 at 1m, 0/12 on polytrack and 0/11 on RH tracks. On a potentially attractive handicap mark but hard to fancy. 6) KINDIA (72) - Shown nothing in two handicaps and impossible to make any sort of case for. 7) SHAUNAS SPIRIT (72) - Nice winner LTO here over 7f. Up 8lbs for that to career high mark. Cheekpieces used again today if coping with the rise, no reason why another strong effort isn't on the cards. 8) HURRICANE SPIRIT (71) - Won a claimer here LTO and also at Lingfield on penultimate start. Definite chance from winnable mark. 9) DIPLOMATIC (68) - Bit of a Kempton specialist with 4/14 here. Decent 2nd LTO with cheekpieces re-applied and has a chance with them back on today. 10) DREAM PROSPETOR (67) - Lightly raced but well beaten in all but one start. 9th/12 here LTO in similar event and stays on same mark. 11) BREAKHEART (62) - Won in early Jan but has struggled on revised mark. Some decent efforts earlier in career but looks on a dwonward curve and not to be trusted. ================== HURRICANE SPIRIT gets the nod here. Won a similar event in the summer and should go very well again today. HURRICANE SPIRIT 1pt WIN @ 7/2 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Mon 28th Jan 2013 4.20 Kempton (9 runners) BetVictor Exclusive Antepost Offer Cheltenham 2013 Handicap Class 4, 1m3f , Standard, 4yo+, Win: £4690 2) WILDOMAR (81) - Running into some decent form at the moment. Dropped 1f to 1m3f which should help and looks to have strong claims. 3) GAELIC SILVER (78) - Been over obstacles until LTO where was 6th/7 round here at big odds. Dropped 7lbs for that and may just come on for the run. 4) NOGUCHI (77) - 3rd/8 LTO here over 1f extra. In with a chance. 5) KING OLAV (77) - Plum last here LTO. Dropped 5lbs for that but probabaly needs more to be competitive. 6) KAMES PARK (75) - Veteran who is probably going to be a bit out of his depth here. Last two wins have been in Cl6's and off much lower. 7) BRIMSTONE HILL (77) - Very consistent of late but upped in grade LTO and struggled somewhat. 2lb higher today and at the price, is opposable 8) REFLECT (73) - Looks up against it at this level. 9) ST IGNATIUS (72) - Has won off a similar mark in August and with 7lb claimer on board is effectively 3lbs better off. Has run OK over similar distances on the turf and last two races haven't seemed far enough. Latet two perforamces are a bit of a worry, but could go well at a nice price. 10) NAVE (69) - 1/17 and last win coming 17 runs ago. Edging down the handcap and latest 3rd/5 maybe helped by 7lb claimer. =================== WILDOMAR should go very well but don't like him enough at the price, so, I am going to go for two animals who might just pop up at big odds. GAELIC SILVER is lightly raced and I'm having a small E/W bet in the hope that he neeed the last run and can go better today. ST IGNATIUS is another at big odds who has patches of form good enough to win this. A chance is taken that he can outrun his odds. GAELIC SILVER 0.5pt E/W @ 33/1 (BOG) ST IGNATIUS 1pt E/W @ 25/1 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Mon 28th Jan 2013 5.10 Wolverhampton (12 runners) Horse Racing Free Bets At bookmakers.co.uk Fillies' Handicap Class 5, 1m4f , Standard, 4yo+, Win: £2588 1) MEDITERRANEAN SEA (73) - A consisten type but all AW runs (and best form) have come on the fibresand. Probably needs a bit of help from the handicapper, too. 2) CHEERS FOR THEA (69) - Not won past 1m2f, struggled after recent rise in weights and looks hard to catch right. 3) DAZZLING VALENTINE (67) - On a winnable mark not been at best last couple of outings. 4) ELIZABETH COFFEE (66) - Winning form in Ireland in similar events but poor LTO behind DAZZLING VALENTINE. 5) HEPWORTH (70) - John Gosden has a decent record when sending horses here. This is handicap debut after three 2nds in maidens. That form may well be good enough in this company. 6) AMANA (65) - Only beaten one horse home in 3 AW starts. Impossible to fancy. 7) MAZIJ (65) - On a winning mark but very disappointing last twice and beaten massively. 8) BERNISDALE (63) - 0/4 on the AW (all at Southwell) with last runs on this surface coming two years ago. Best watched. 9) SAIL HOME (63) - 0/6 at 1m4f and all winning been done at 1m3f or less. Decent effort recently but likely to find one or two too good again. 10) ROSIES LADY (66) - Usually struggles at this level. Turned over as odds on favourite LTO when trying for hat trick. 11) CANDELITA (62) - Third flat start and dropping back to 1m4f since reasonable 5th on penultimate start. Has winning form in a maiden at this trip at Southwell. Chance. 12) QUEEN OF THE SKIES (66) - Makes handicap debut after three maidens here. In the frame each time and upped in distance now. ==================== Lots of exposed types contest this and HEPWORTH making her handicap debut could take advantage. The rainer has a reasonable record round here and is in decent nick. CANDELITA has been tried over varying distances but today's trip could suit and has an E/W squeake at a decent price. HEPWORTH 3pt WIN @ 2/1 (BOG) CANDELITA 1pt E/W @ 20/1 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Tue 29th Jan 2013 2.30 Wolverhampton (9 runners) bookmakers.co.uk Fillies' Handicap Class 5, 6f , Standard, 4yo+, Win: £2911 1) SONG OF PARKES (75) - Won over C&D in October in a much better race but gone completely off the boil since. Drops in grade and 5lbs lower than when last attempting a race at this level. 2) LADY ROYALE (75) - Infront of SONG OF PARKES LTO but like her, needs much more to figure here. 3) NIGHT TRADE (73) - On last winning mark, but that was sole win on AW. Probably needs a bit more help from handicapper and doesn't go well after a lay off. 4) ZING WIN (70) - Decent strike rate on the AW. First attempt over 6f and performance on penultimate start suggests this may be ideal. 5) CELTIC SIXPENCE (68) - Edging down the weights but probaly needs more. 6) LITTLE CHINA (67) - Not shown enough in handicaps to suggest she warrants a bet here. 7) BLODWEN ABBEY (65) - Disappointing over C&D latest. Quirky type and hard to make a case for. 8) CLIMAXFORTACKLE (63) - Consistent of late but 0/12 at 6f and 0/20 at this level, but this looks a weak affair. 9) KASHMIRI STAR (59) - Just the one AW race which was a claimer LTO. ===================== ZING WING looks the most likliest here on her first attempt at 6f. Trainer in decent nick and looks well drawn. ZING WING 2pt @ 10/3 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Attempting some obstacles tomorrow after Zing Wing was disappointing ... Wed 30th Jan 2013 3.30 Leicester (7 runners) Billesdon Coplow Handicap Chase Class 3, 2m7½f , Soft, 5yo+, Win: £6963 1) IKORODU ROAD (138) - All wins have come on ground a lot better than today and 4lb higher than last winning mark. Not sure trip suits either. 2) BUDDY BOLERO (129) - On hat-trick after wins at Folkestone and Exeter latest. Folkestone performance suggests he'll get the trip and likely to figure. 3) BALLYOLIVER (125) - Very consistent type who failed to jusitfy favouritism LTO at Wetherby behind Cape Tribulation. Big chance and no surprise to see him there or thereabouts. 4) DASHING GEORGE (123) - Ground and trip should cause no problems, nice win at Wetherby LTO but usually finds one too good at this level. 5) SEE U BOB (123) - 5 career wins have been at 2m1f or shorter. Not much form at this sort of trip, or at this mark. 6) THREE CHORDS (118) - Not many miles on the clock and potentially well handicapped down to last winning mark, coming back after long lay off a concern but could go well if fit. 7) PLUM PUDDING (112) - 2 from 3 here but 5lb higher than last winning mark. ======================= A really interesting little race in which BUDDY BOLERO should go very well, he is open to improvement and should take all the beating. An E/W chance is taken with THREE CHORDS who if ready for action after a lengthy lay off could give the market prinicples something to think about. BUDDY BOLERO 3pt WIN @ 5/4 (BOG) THREE CHORDS 0.5pt E/W @ 10/1 (BOG)

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 BUDDY BOLERO won nicely today so this thread has a chance of finishing in profit this month, until I post up this selection that is! .... Thu 31st Jan 2013 2.40 Wincanton (8 runners) Grolsch Handicap Chase Class 3, 2m5f , Heavy, 5yo+, Win: £16245 1) CARRICKBOY (136) - Up 7lbs for good Cl2 win LTO, ground ideal but all best form at 2m4f or less and struggled off marks this high in the past. 2) ROYAL CHARM (135) - Done all of winning at Exeter. On bit of a winless streak now but this easier than most recent assignments. 3) BALLYALIA MAN (132) - Super consistent of late, revised mark is into unchartered territory but a C&D winner and looks open to improvement. 4) ARTHURIAN LEGEND (132) - Doesn't seem to enjoy the fences as much as the hurdles. Had chances last twice but failed to capitilise. This no easier. 5) WEBBERYS DREAM (120) - Decent record round here (22123) but struggled in handicaps. 6) POLITEO (118) - Yet to win in the UK, is well weighted if in the mood 7) MILARROW (118) - Another consistent type who should go well enough but looks just about held, 8) PEUT ETRE SIVOLA (109) - Off course for 695 days, has a chance on best form but lay off is a concern. ===================== One or two could pop up here, but BALLYALIA MAN gets the nod. Up 12lb by the handicapper for most recent victory (over C&D) but that may not be enough to stop him and is the one with in the race with the most scope. BALLYALIA MAN 2pt WIN @ 15/8

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 So thats the first month of proper record keeping punting done. And whilst a loss is always disappointing, it could have been a lot worse I reckon ....

Bets 42

Winners (Win & E/W) 8

Placed (E/W) 2

Total Staked (pts) 84

Overall P/L (pts) -4.85

Strike Rate 19.0%

Jan-13 -4.85

The best part of 5 points was lost but I am really looking forward to seeing how this pans out during the course of a calendar. I've generally always thought I've done the best on the flat so will see if that's true, or, more likely, I was looking at it with rose tinted glasses! Anyway, onto February ....

Re: Peacock's Punting 2013 Fri 1st Feb 2013 2.45 Catterick (12 runners) Cheltenham Preview Evening March 1st Handicap Hurdle Class 3, 3m1½f , Soft, 4yo+, Win: £5848 1) MY ARCH (125) - Best form on better ground and 7lb higher than highest winning mark. Respectable 2nd LTO on heavy though and entitled to come on for that run. 2) DUN MASC (117) - Making UK debut today Has some winning hurdle form in Ireland but probably best watched today having been off course for 10 months. 3) TELL ME Y (117) - Pulled up LTO when attempting this sort of distance for first time. This looks a similar sort of contest and no let up in weights. 4) SUN COLOUR (115) - Won handicap hurdle on penultimate start but then disappointing at Doncaster latest. Needs to bounce back in a better race. 5) GREEN WIZARD (111) - Not much form to go on but 2L behind MY ARCH on boxing day, reopposes on similar marks and has a chance if improving and getting the trip. 6) EVERAARD (105) - Won a chase LTO at Mussleburgh but this much tougher and all wins have been at the Edinburgh track. 7) SWISS ART (105) - Never run over 2m4.5f before and winning form at 2m1f or less. 8) EVERDON BROOK (104) - Ground doesn't seem ideal and all wins have been in Cl5s. Passed over. 9) ROMANY RYME (103) - Making handicap debut and needs improvement to figure 10) DELGANY GUNNER (100) - Back over hurdles after a year's chasing with reasonable success. 11) STORM TO PASS (100) - Just 4 runs to his name and looks to have it all to do. 12) CARMELA MARIA (93) - Does like it round here but this tougher than most of past races and handicap mark 4lb higher than highest winning mark. ======================== A wide open race in which a fair few have some sort of chance but SUN COLOUR is my selection. Shaped nicely at Wetherby on penultimate start but was disappointing LTO, had a break, trainer is hopeful of a good run and looks to have a good E/W chance. SUN COLOUR 1pt E/W @ 8/1 (BOG)
