Re: Ligue 1 > 7th December - 9th December

Lille's odds are too short' date=' they couldn't win against depleted Bastia at home and now they face improving Sochaux at their home ground.[/quote'] Goalkeeper Landreau is gone (he has demissioned :o ) , i think they gone be fragilized by that and maybe take 1X or a Home win is an good bet

Re: Ligue 1 > 7th December - 9th December Nancy vs Valenciennes Well for a Tipster who hates backing Away Opposition whenever he can I seem to have located a lot of Away Selections for this weekend. Currently I am unsure whether this is a good thing or a bad thing. By Sunday evening I will have my answer. Last week I tipped up Valencienne’s and they duly obliged by defeating Reims 1-0. And now I am hoping they can Double Up against the Team Bottom of the League Table with just one League Win to their Name after 15 League Matches. Once again it’s not a selection that would stick out to most given the Home Record vs The Away Record, but I will explain my findings. Nancy have endured an absolutely terrible start to the season and find themselves 20th and Rock Bottom of the League Standings with a Season Record of W1 D5 L9 GF10 GA26. Their Home Stats this season are W1 D2 L5 GF4 GA10 (Worst Home Record in the League). Their one and only Home Victory came way back in August against Brest (14th). They have gone over 4 Months without a League Win. While the Home Draws have been against Ajaccio (16th) and Sochaux (18th). Their long list of Home Defeats have come at the hands of Marseille (2nd), PSG (4th), Rennes (7th), Toulouse (8th) and Montpellier (13th). Giving them a Home Record of W0 D0 L4 against Top Half Opposition this season. Their 20 Match Home Record in the League is W5 D7 L8 GF21 GA28. 4 of these 8 Home Losses have been by more than a single goal margin, while a fairly high 4 of these have come via the Draw/Lose HT/FT Double Result. It’s not conceding goals that is Nancy’s big issue this season, it’s scoring them! Their Home Half Time statistics are W5 D10 L5 GF10 GA10. Nancy have managed only 4 Clean Sheets from these 20 Games, and when conceding the opening goal at Home the Final Results have been a poor W0 D2 L8 GF6 GA19. 11 of these Home Games have finished with Under 2.5 Goals, while Both Teams have finished on the Score Sheet in the Same Number of Games. Finding themselves on a never ending search for a League Victory it’s not too much of a surprise to see Nancy currently sitting 18th in the Six Match Form Standing with a Record of W0 D3 L3 GF7 GA11. But even these 3 Recent Draws, Home and Away, have all come against Bottom Six Teams. Their opponents are Valenciennes. A team I had last weekend who brought home the bacon it could be said. They are enjoying a fantastic start to this season. They are currently 5th in the League Standings with a Season Record of W7 D4 L4 GF28 GA16. They Away Stats this Season are W2 D1 L4 GF10 GA12. Doesn’t look too good does it. The Away Defeats have come at the hands of Lyon (1st), Saint-Etienne (3rd), Lille (10th) and Brest (14th). While the solitary Away Draw came against Toulouse (8th). Valenciennes Two Away wins came against Bastia (12th) and Troyes (19th). So this actually give them an Away Record of W2 D0 L1 against Bottom Half sides this Season. Their 20 Match Away Form reads W3 D4 L13 GF18 GA36. All 3 of these Away Wins have been by a Single Goal margin, while 2 of them have come via the Win/Win HT/FT Double Result. Their Half Time Away Statistics this season are W4 D6 L10 GF10 GA17. They have managed just 1 Away Clean Sheet from these 20 Fixtures, and when scoring the opening goal on their travels the final results have been W3 D2 L2 GF12 GA11. Exactly Half of these Matches have finished with Over 2.5 Goals, while 12 of them have seen Both Teams finish on the Score Sheet. Valenciennes are currently 6th in the Six Match Form Standings with a record of W3 D1 L2 GF9 GA7. So while their Away Stats are probably as bad as Nancy’s Home stats the Two teams are heading in completely different directions this season. The head the head statistics favour Nancy with an overall record of W5 D5 L2 GF13 GA7. While they are unbeaten against Valenciennes in their 6 Home Encounters against them in the past. Nancy’s record at Home to them reads W3 D3 L0 GF7 GA2. The last 5 Fixtures between these two teams have finished with Under 2.5 Goals. And Both Teams have scored in 4 of the latest 6 meetings. So it’s all about what you think is more likely to end here. Nancy’s wait for a Win? Or Valenciennes wait to win at this Ground? Given Nancy are W0 D0 L4 at Home to Top Half Teams this season, and Valenciennes are W2 D0 L1 Away to Bottom Half teams this season I know which way I will be going in this match. Huge odds for an Away Win and I hope they can come through this one with 3 Points. Selection: Valenciennes Win @ 2.60 (Betfair)

What do you mean by an upset? St Etienne are favourites and at home. Lyon are above them in the league and have a good record at St Etienne.
