Re: World Cup Europe Qualification - Friday, 12 October I guess Faroe Islands should not be priced @ 40.00 at home, sine they play decent football in front of their own fans, so might consider them on a handicap. Bosnia not to lose, based on their current form and England to destroy San Marino at home, which is an obvious thing in my opinion.

Re: World Cup Europe Qualification - Friday, 12 October As far as the Faroe Islands go, they're home form isn't as bad as I thought to be honest. In recent times they've managed to limit France and Italy to just one goal, drew with N Ireland and had some decent results for them. Maybe some value on a +2 8/5. No asian market up yet.

Re: World Cup Europe Qualification - Friday, 12 October Really fancy Russia to beat Portugal 2.66 seems a good price. Capello seems a good fit for the Russians. Portugal struggled past Luxumbourg 2-1 and were troubled by Azerbaijan for an hour. Ronaldo hurt his shoulder but by all accounts is ok now. Just think Russia have very few weaknesses in their side. Portugal obviously have Ronaldo and a hard core of 4 or 5 other good international players but there is not much depth there after that and if Ronaldo is not on his game then they struggle.

Really fancy Russia to beat Portugal 2.66 seems a good price. Capello seems a good fit for the Russians. Portugal struggled past Luxumbourg 2-1 and were troubled by Azerbaijan for an hour. I wouldn't be so confident about that. In my opinion, Portugal has great strength and is among the best teams in the world at the moment. The game in Luxembourg is representative of nothing, because it was obviously not taken seriously. However, I watched the match with Azerbaijan, and Portugal showed amazing display of football. I haven't seen for a long time one team to have such dominance over the opponent and to create so many clear-cut chances. Portugal had maybe 20 decent chances to score. Capello is outstanding coach, but I don't trust the Russian team for big games. Its core consists of Zenit players, who have been in a very bad shape lately. Anykov and Denisov show some abysmal performances in defense in the last games, Denisov is weak, and Kerzhakov is out of the team due to a conflict with Zenit's manager. Also, star player Dzagoev has a mediocre start of his season. In general, Russia has some defensive flow and is not a very scary team going forward as most of their games go "under". Major players of Portugal are in a wonderful shape at the moment. Cristiano, Moutinho, Pepe, Varela - they are all very hot at the moment, with only Nani disappointing from all Portugal players. I personally am confident that Portugal won't lose in Moscow. Not sure if they will manage to grab the win, but they are certainly more likely to do so than the hosts, at least in my view.

If they were priced at 200.00 i still wouldn't back Faroe Islands. LoL.. Croatia look good odds away to an inferior Macedonia side. Macedonia are on the same level as Scotland, Wales, Andorra, Moldova type of teams so i dont see them losing points in this one. Granted the Croats havent been on the best form for a while, but they got the players to turn it on. Also I like the look of Germany :) away to a poor ROI. Ireland used to be a tough place to get a result but not anymore. Germany will have a field day and might even win this one by several goals. Russia could be a good lay as I don't see the Portugeeze losing to this Russian bunch. I can see a possible draw outcome but I just feel that Portugal will be too difficult to beat, so I'll probably be laying the Russians. Hopefully Ronaldo will play if he recovers from his bruised shoulder. A good round and alot of value on this Game Card.

Germany should win, but Dublin is never an easy place to get a result, and Germany won't win by a few goals. Ireland's last 44 home world cup qualification record: Played 44 Won 26 Draw 14 Lost 4 Also, Mustafa did say he was looking at the handicap market for the Faroes, he didn't say he fancied them to win.

Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October SERBIA - BELGIUM Team news: Belgium forward Lukaku is ruled out through injury. Serbia will be without the services of first-choice goalkeeper Stojkovic and Udinese star Basta. Ajax winger Sulejmani is still struggling with the injury and is doubtful for the match. Two new faces in the squad: 22-year-old Nenad Krsticic(Sampdoria) and 21-year-old Alen Stevanovic(Torino). Probable linep: Serbia: Brkic(Udinese) - Ivanovic(Chelsea), Subotic(Borussia Dortmund) or Bisevac(Lyon), Nastasic(Manchester City), Kolarov(Manchester City) - Ignjovski(Werder Bremen) - Tadic(Twente), L.Markovic(Partizan), Tosic(CSKA Moscow) - Djuricic(Heerenveen)

Yes, Faroe Islands are getting tougher by the day. However, I think it is kind of accounted for by the bookies - they give Sweden 1.10 for a win, while against any other minnow (except Luxembourg) the price would be lower. The Asian markets haven't come up yet, but I am sure that the bookies would lock any good and big handicap for Faroe by giving it lower price. And the price for Faroe straight win is indicator of nothing, because even if they can cause trouble for Sweden, they can never win this game in this universe - so whether it is 40 or 4000 it does not really matter. My problem with backing teams like Faroe Islands on handicap is that they are way to unpredictable. They may put good fight and lose by just one goal, but they may easily get trashed as well. I remember last month many people were suggesting similar handicap on Lichtenstein against Bosnia. We all remember what happened - I actually cannot recall the exact score, because it was way too heavy. And Sweden is also a team full of goals. I think that if you wanna exploit possible underestimation of a minnow, you better try with Luxembourg vs. Israel. Not researched well Israeli team yet, but I think that the price for their win should not be less than 1.50-1.60, while in reality it is 1.28. Probably the bookies would still be very modest on the asian handicap markets though.

Did you just put Wales and Scotland in the same group as Andorra and Moldova???? Macedonia have had some decent results over the years. Certainly wouldn't trust an odds on away side unless they were holland, England or Germany.

Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October Macedonia is in the same group with Wales probably. Though Macedonia had maybe better results. Scotland is in a higher group. Moldova is better than Andorra but lower than Macedonia and Wales. Stop betting. :)

Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October Luxembourg - Israel Luxembourg has improved in the recent years and they play decent football at home. They played really well against Portugal, losing narrowly 1-2. Afterwards they managed a 1-1 draw away against N.Ireland. Israel have only won 1 out of their last 10 games and that was away against Malta during EURO 2012 Qualifiers. In their last game they lost 0-4 at home against Russia. Last time these two sides met during World Cup 2010 Qualifiers and Luxembourg lost 1-3 at home and 0-7 away. However, in my opinion Israel is a worse now than they were back then, while Luxembourg have improved. I believe that the likelihood of them winning here is more than the odds suggest or at least I can see each side scoring once here. Both to Score @ 2.10 (2 units) Bet365 Luxembourg @ 11.00 (1 unit) Bet365

Macedonia are not much of a force. Croatia are strides ahead of them in terms of quality.. Macedonia are 104th in the fifa rankings while Croatia are a cedible 8th.... i think 1.85 or more is certainly a nice price personally...

Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October odds havent gone out for point spread from where im from but with money line they got germany at -200. i heard lahm is suspended for the match and they got muller on an injury. im pretty confident with germany and they've been on good shape. the bavarians have been doing a great job (won all of their bundesliga matches and 1 upset midweek for championship title). ireland on the other hand are expected to be without their trios and against smaller teams i think they can mop the floor with them but i think germany is a pretty strong team and i think germany can grab a win here. i dont think itll be a huge margin, maybe by a goal or two so im still debating whether or not to back them on point spread when it comes out. maybe by a goal but definitely not anymore then that. -200 isnt too bad of an odd to back an outright winner. i dont see a draw here and most definitely not an upset. no point spread for russia vs portugal but money line is in the favor of russia i think +145 and +185 for portugal. russia is a strong team but i think portugal might have an edge here. pepe and ronaldo did real well against barca this past weekend and although ronaldo injured his shoulder it didnt look too bad and he was deemed fit for this coming match. the match might end in a draw or a slight favor for portugal so ill be waiting for the point spread and back portugal this way. i think theyll put the odds up as a PICK. either way its fine so at least if they draw i can get my money back and if portugal wins its icing on the cake for me. england vs san marino- odds are way too bad for this one. ill be waiting for point spread and go from there . they got england at money line for -10000 but england should take this even with the turmoil they are dealing with right now with john terrys retirement and ferdinand recall belarus vs spain - spain will take this. i just dont see belarus being able to overtake spain although i can see them with heavy defense as what we saw with georgia but i think spain will be able to break the deadlock for the win. it might be a small win but a win, indeed. ill be backing spain for the win ive been watching soccer for a long time but just started into the wagering game so any info and tips are highly appreciated. please let me know what you guys think about the picks .

I had a good study of the Macedonia v Croatia game, and all the stats suggest it will be an extremely tight affair, rankings are a load of nonsense and should not be looked at. Croatia only beat them 1-0 at home, and Macedonia had 6 shots on goal to Croatia's 4, Macedonia had 3 on target to Croatia's 1. They had 48% possession. Croatia also lost their last match played in Macedonia 2-0 in European Championship qualifying, so should be a very tight game for me.

I was looking at the unders myself Aidy, or a 2-1 score line to Croatia. All Macedonia's games for the last few years have been fairly tight. They've only been hammered once, by Armenia, and that was due to the fact Armenia were desperately trying to qualify for the Euros, and were playing well at the time. As you say, Macedonia don't tend to lose by many, when they do lose.

Macedonia's last 7 home games all went under: 0-1 v Russia 0-1 v Cameroon 0-2 v Ireland 1-0 v Andorra 1-1 v Slovakia 0-0 v Albania 1-0 v Lithuania I still think Croatia will probably nick it 1-0, but i wouldn't like to take odds-on about them.

i never said it would be a 5-0 score line, but looking at croatia with jelavic the everton striker bang on form i would fancy croatia scoring. You both seem to think croatia will win this one like myself so why dont you think croatia look a good bet..? odds loon fine to me considering the differnece in quality..

Also think there is more value in Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.66 than backing Croatia @ 1.79. My own opinion is that rankings are pointless in international football. The difference in quality you are talking about was not evident when Croatia won 1-0 at home, when Macedonia were the better side for spells, hit the crossbar and the post, had more shots on goal and on target, and possession was around the same.

Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October Do you guys have any idea why Slovakia -1.25 home against Latvia has gone from 1.92 to 2.06 @ PinnacleSports. Slovakias is a much better team on all positions. Do Slovakia have any important players injured or something or is it becasue of the "scandal" before the latest qualifier a month ago?

German internationals will receive 20' date='000 euros per person for each game of the World Cup qualifying soccer if they succeed to qualify for the race in Brazil, said the local federation. So Germany win is very possible here[/quote'] I don't think how is that relevant. Our players get nearly the same, sometimes even more for every game they win and in fact most of football federations offer their players bonuses.

If they get to Brazil, they get a weeks wages basically. Don't think they will be too bothered about that, money is no object to these guys. I still reckon Germany will beat us though.

Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October

No. sorry to create confusion.. im just saying they are on the same level in football rankings, not in the same qualifying group.. Macedonia are not much of a force. Croatia are strides ahead of them in terms of quality.. Macedonia are 104th in the fifa rankings while Croatia are a cedible 8th.... i think 1.85 or more is certainly a nice price personally...
I was actually expecting to see Croatia at Evens or better to be honest. I watched a lot of the first match between these sides and Macedonia dominated for large spells and did not deserve to lose. They should have beaten Scotland as well and have a class act in their forward Pandev who will cause Croatia problems. Personal I would look at value elsewhere.

Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October

Do you guys have any idea why Slovakia -1.25 home against Latvia has gone from 1.92 to 2.06 @ PinnacleSports. Slovakias is a much better team on all positions. Do Slovakia have any important players injured or something or is it becasue of the "scandal" before the latest qualifier a month ago?
It is no surprise they are priced so. Go to soccerway and check Slovakia's scores lately. Here is a small excerpt: - Slovakia-Andorra 1:0 - Slovakia - Lichtenstein 2:0 - Slovakia - Armenia 0:4 - Andorra - Slovakia 0:1 - Luxembourg - Slovakia 2:1 .............. Will you trust a team on a -1.25 handicap after they failed twice to cover it against the second weakest team in Europe - Andorra?!! And Latvia might not be something special, but they can surely put up a decent fight.

Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October In the Ireland v Germany game, as others have said every player in the Germany team earns 20,000 every few days, its really not a factor in this game.. Its a fixture that will generate a bit of debate, my feeling is that Ireland are not the force they were a few years ago. They will be far more difficult to beat in Dublin than anywhere else but they don't give off that feeling that they can really create anything against the better sides. Trapp obviously doesn't think they have the required abilities going forward he has constantly selected defensive minded players over attacking ones, and much of their threat will come from a traditional 'home nations' route - set pieces. I doubt if I'm alone in thinking they will battle hard but lack the quality they once had. They have a few injury problems for this one too, Ciaran Clark has been called into the squad as defender Sean St Ledger and midfielder Glenn Whelan suffered hamstring injuries while playing for Leicester and Stoke respectively over the weekend and are rated as extremely doubtful for the game, and James McClean is now also missing after getting injured playing for Sunderland against City at the weekend. I would think both Whelan and St Ledger would have been in the team if fit, McClean probably on the bench. Germany are always very impressive in qualification games, not one you ever see easing off and I expect they will qualify with a perfect record. Reus and Gotze are in great form and Ozil, Khedira, Schweinsteiger, Podolski are pure class. Player for player this isn't even a contest on paper Ireland would get murdered, a game isn't played on paper though and being at home in front of a packed crowd will give them a bit of a lift but I don't think teams fear playing Ireland like they did do a few years ago and in the Euro finals against similar quality opposition we saw how they struggled to create anything or hold possession, I expect to see the same on Friday. Irelands qualification group for the Euro's was pretty straightforward compared to others and they still dropped points at home to Russia and Slovakia. Germany won all their qualifiers including trips to tough places like Turkey, Austria and Belgium. I personally think Ireland are a team in decline but the odds for Germany -1.0AH (1.68 at bet365) carry little appeal, I would want it nearer 1.8-1.85. Perhaps one for in-play.

Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October

SERBIA - BELGIUM Team news: Belgium forward Lukaku is ruled out through injury.
Both Lukaku and Fellaini are ruled out through injury, and the likes of Witsel and especially Kompany are both a major doubts for Friday's match. Regular defender Gillet is suspended. Serbia(2.64 at Pinnacle) to beat Belgium

Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October Slovakia vs Latvia Under 2.5 @ 2.01 (SBObet) 4/10 As Fedar mentioned Slovakia had unders games against both Liechtenstein and twice against Andorra lately. They beat the former nation 2-0 and the latter 1-0 on each occasion. They are an organised side but they really struggle to break teams down. Both sides are overwhelmingly underish; in each case 9 out of their last 15 games have gone under. Slovakia should win the game, and this is reflected in the odds, so dutching 1-0 and 2-0 correct scores may also be a good option, although there is a possibility of 0-0 and 1-1 here as well. Latvia aren't a great side but they don't tend to concede many. Considering Slovakia only scored one against Andorra I can't see them scoring 3 here, but I would expect an organised Slovak defence captained by Skrtel to keep a clean sheet. If Latvia do score, the bet may be in doubt, but they may hang on for a 1-1 or even a 0-1 victory. A lot of international games are very tight, and I can't see any real reason why this should be odds against.
