Jase82
I know it's a little on the short side but Pompey @ 1.66 - bet365 is obviously one I'm picking here. Because of our small squad we're unable to mix things up too much, and I'd expect a couple of the younger players like forward Ashley Harris and defender Adam Webster to pick up starts. Although Adam Webster has been playing lately. Midfielder Akos Buzsaky is another I'd expect to see get some extended game time. Wycombe haven't been setting league two alight this season, and we are generally pretty creative against the weaker League One sides, so I'd be shocked to see us not win the game. We knocked out Bournemouth on PENs in the last round, and I'd back our home form to see us through again. Pompey have had an affliction with the cups over the last few years, and it would be quite poetic and fitting to see us at Wemnley again. MPLouis
Re: Johnstones Paint Trophy > 9th October Morecambe v Preston Preston look good value to me at around 2.2 to win. It's almost a 'local derby' with a good away following expected. Preston are a division higher and in much better form than Morecambe. Jase82
Any Walsall fans know what strength of side they are putting out tonight. I'm not a Walsall supporter but the rules for this competition dictate they can't make too many changes, so I would expect a few of the players that haven't had much game time to come in, but in the main, the first eleven can't change that much. garyfinny
Re: Johnstones Paint Trophy > 9th October I am going to have a tilt at Barnet (6.5, various). Orient have a very poor pedigree in the competition and have been knocked out several times against weaker sides. As I understand, the rules state that either six players that played the last match have to take part, alternatively, there must be six players who start the JPT match must start the next league match. Given that Kevin Lisbie is out and Ben Chorley is suspended, this gives some latitude to Russell Slade to make changes to the side. In my view, Rowlands and Cook are almost certain to be rested. There is also potential for other key players to be rested too, as we have a fairly presentable run of League fixtures coming up. Barnet are bad, but I can see them raising their game for this match, and if they go ahead I think it'll be difficult for Orient to get back into it. Striker Luke Rodgers is available following injury. However defender josh Thompson and midfielder Daryl Russell are both still out. Akos Buzsaky is set to start. Winger Jordan Obita, midfielder liam walker and Jack Compton could all come in.

Jinkster
Re: Johnstones Paint Trophy > 9th October Southend 5/6 (Coral) at home against Dag & Red is pretty tasty, no? Am I missing something? Pompey is the one that is screaming at me out of the bunch here, but as I am not an expert on the lower leagues by any means I am tempted to halve my stake and make it a double with Southend instead. Jinkster
Re: Johnstones Paint Trophy > 9th October Portsmouth odds have been slashed quite dramatically since this morning. They now stand at 8/15 on some sites. Hopefully that bodes well for those of us who have backed them.
Jase82
Southend 5/6 (Coral) at home against Dag & Red is pretty tasty' date=' no? Am I missing something?[/quote'] Bare in mind Southend have quite a few injuries at the minute, and drew with Barnet (possibly one of the worst sides in the football league currently) at the weekend. I believe they were behind ad well. I'd have said anything below evens lacks value IMO.
khallad
Re: Johnstones Paint Trophy > 9th October Guys fancy Portsmouth possibly draw no bet , or just to go for home win,any views. Also I'd originally fancied Coventry tonight also, seem to be getting their act together' but feel on a small pitch would make it difficult,we just need info where one them not bothered about Johnstone cup

We’re treating the early rounds of this competition very seriously, so hopefully things will go our way on the pitch.” Coventry City boss Mark Robins: "There’s been a marked improvement in the attitude and the atmosphere at the club, Results are lifting the doom and gloom, if there was any, and this game provides a good opportunity to do that by continuing our winning sequence."We want to progress in the competition – you’ve got to try to win it.”
