Re: October 1-7 Back Benoit Paire (+1.5 sets) to beat Tomas Berdych for a 1/10 stake at 3.60 with Paddy Power Yeah, Berdych is in excellent form and his recent performances might suggest that he is a genuine title contender in Tokyo, but I just cannot have him as such a big favourite in what might easily be a tricky match-up. Paire tends to under-perform against weaker opposition, but he has the talent to play well against stronger guys and he should get a shot at taking at least a set here if he manages to find his range early on. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/paire-vs-berdych-betting-the-czech-might-not-be-at-his-best-straight-away-over-in-tokyo Back Carla Suarez-Navarro (+1.5 sets) to beat Petra Kvitova for a 1/10 stake at 3.15 with Unibet Petra Kvitova is not as impressive as her ranking would suggest these days and she has never really crushed Carla Suarez-Navarro, so I am willing to take the set handicap with one point at this huge price. Kvitova is fully capable of self-destructing, while Suarez-Navarro is usually fairly consistent from the baseline and can force the Czech into unforced errors. A small punt looks in order here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/suarez-navarro-vs-kvitova-betting-the-world-s-number-five-looks-a-bit-overrated-once-again Back Sorana Cirstea to beat Sofia Arvidsson for a 2/10 stake at 1.75 with Pinnacle Sorana Cirstea was playing well in Guangzhou and I would not really want to read that much into her loss against Morita, so the price looks fairly ok to me. Arvidsson has not played since the US Open, so she has no form to build on and I am not sure that she will be at her best straight away. The H2H reads 2-2, but Cirstea has won the two most recent encounters and that should be reflected in today's battle. Re: October 1-7 Just some information: "Dolgo hasn't trained for 3 weeks. He's a big street race fan, attends a lot of races when he can but unfortunately a couple of weeks ago one of his best friend's died in a race and that's why he postponed his Asia tour for a while. He's surely emotionally drained and will need some time to get into the match for sure"

Re: October 1-7 Back Yuichi Sugita (+1.5 sets) to beat Jeremy Chardy for a 2/10 stake at 2.10 with Pinnacle Chardy can be a quality player on a good day, but his tendency to go missing against weaker opponents is well-known and I can certainly see him struggling against Yuichi Sugita, who is going to be extremely motivated in home conditions. Last year, Sugita managed to post a very respectable result against Milos Raonic in Tokyo and I would not be surprised by a similar performance here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/sugita-vs-chardy-betting-yuichi-sugita-can-put-in-a-good-effort-in-home-conditions Back Tatsuma Ito Total Games - Over 8 for a 2/10 stake at 1.95 with Pinnacle The same reasoning applies here, more or less at least. Almagro is often quite slow off the mark in the early rounds and this will be his first match on the Asian tour this year, so he might be a bit rusty and the fact that he is going to be up against a very motivated local hero is not going to help him either. Ito is in a dreadful form, but he is still fully capable of winning eight or more games here in my opinion. Re: October 1-7 Back Jurgen Melzer (+1.5 sets) to beat Aleksandr Dolgopolov for a 2/10 stake at 1.90 with Unibet A price worth taking I feel. Melzer somehow managed to stage a stunning comeback against Andujar on Tuesday and I expect that to be the spark that might get him back on track a little bit. Throw in the fact that Dolgopolov tends to throw sets away for fun from time to time and you simply have to think that the set handicap looks like the right selection here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/melzer-vs-dolgopolov-betting-jurgen-melzer-can-capture-a-set-against-the-talented-ukrainian Back Sorana Cirstea (+1.5 sets) to beat Maria Sharapova for a 1/10 stake at 3.15 with Unibet Maria Sharapova has not really hit her best yet on the Asian tour and the motivated Romanian has enough in her arsenal to keep this match tight. I am not sure whether she is already good enough to beat someone as good as Sharapova, but she is fully capable of taking a set against the Russian and the price is quite juicy. Re: October 1-7 Been away for quite a while but here are some of my thoughts for today. Tipsarevic-Simon. I expect Simon to put up another fight and do well in this match. The odds are too short on Janko, but he should be able to win it eventually. The suggestion is to wait in play and take him if odds get to about 1.80-1.9. Cirstea-Sharapova. Cirstea could make a lot of troubles to Pova, since the Russian isn't yet at her best in Asia, while Cirstea has got some nice wins already and is in good form. Game handicap around +6 is definitely worth a try, as I think Maria won't have it easy in this one. Monaco-Dimitrov. Monaco with a big win last week, however, I wouldnt touch him at these prices as he can drop his level anytime, he simply isn't a player to be trusted in over the longer period of time, so most likely a no-bet here. Just my 2c for now.

Re: October 1-7 Back Elena Vesnina (+7) to beat Viktoria Azarenka for a 2/10 stake at 1.90 with Pinnacle With all due respect, Azarenka looks a bit overrated here. Vesnina has been playing really well recently, beating players like Barthel and Paszek in straight sets, and I would expect her to win a few games against the world's number one as well. The +7 games handicap certainly looks a touch big to me and I am more than happy to back the Russian with that head start. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/vesnina-vs-azarenka-betting-elena-vesnina-might-be-able-to-do-some-damage-in-beijing Back Alejandro Falla Total Games- Over 7 for a 2/10 stake at 1.91 with Pinnacle Berdych did have some problems against Paire in the second set and he will have to raise his game in order to beat the Colombian without any difficulties. I cannot really see an upset happening, but Falla is a fighter that should be able to build on his recent results and win seven games or more in this encounter. Re: October 1-7 Back Kei Nishikori (+1.5 sets) to beat Tomas Berdych for a 2/10 stake at 1.94 with Unibet Let's go against Berdych once again, shall we? Basically, this is a fairly good match-up for Kei Nishikori and the Japanese number one has been able to win a set in all three H2H matches so far, so I do expect him to repeat the feat today as well, especially since he is going to be playing in home conditions. The price certainly looks fine to me. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/nishikori-vs-berdych-betting-going-against-tomas-berdych-looks-like-a-good-idea-once-again Back Janko Tipsarevic to beat Milos Raonic for a 2/10 stake at 2.18 with Pinnacle I would probably have Tipsarevic as a slight favourite, so 2.18 looks like a good price to me. In my opinion, he is still the better player of the two and he should be able to control the longer baseline rallies. Raonic has the big serve, alright, but I would say that he is still far from being a top 10 player and that he should not be priced as such a decent favourite in this match-up. Re: October 1-7 Back Andy Murray (-3.5) to beat Milos Raonic for a 2/10 stake at 2.05 with Pinnacle The Scot should take this fairly easily in all honesty. The Canadian has managed to get to this stage only thanks to his serve and Murray should be able to neutralize that advantage with his great returns. He has done the feat against Karlovic and I do expect him to repeat it today against an opponent that he defeated very cosily in the US Open just a few weeks ago. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/murray-vs-raonic-betting-andy-murray-to-cruise-through-to-the-next-round Back Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (-4) to beat Feliciano Lopez for a 2/10 stake at 1.84 with Pinnacle There is a decent gap between the two in terms of overall quality in my opinion and the surface in Beijing is fairly slow, so Tsonga should be able to outplay the Spaniard without any difficulties. The Frenchman is on a roll these days, winning the event in Metz and then doing quite well to get to the semis in Beijing, and the handicap is not as huge as it may look like at first glance. Re: October 1-7 CzechPunter I agree that Tsonga will win the match. Below is the analysis. October 6th, 2012 ATP - China Open (Beijing) Joe-Wilfried Tsonga vs Feliciano Lopez Pick: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to Win Match. Odds 1.21 at Pinnacle Going back to 2007 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Feliciano Lopez have met each other 4 times. Tsonga has won each time and done so in straight sets all but once in 2009. It's been since February 2009 that Lopez has won a set against Tsonga. Tsonga is currently ranked 7 and Lopez is at 30. Lopez is moving up and is seen quite a bit on the Challenger circut. However, the odds makers give Tsonga a great advantage. They are probably right. Tsonga is used to winning against Lopez. No indication why this match would be any different. All the Best, Bloke

Re: October 1-7 Here is the second tip this week. October 6th, 2012 RelyAid Natomas (Sacramento) Daniel Kosakowskowski vs Mischa Zverev Pick: Mischa Zverev to Win Match. Odds 1.60 at Interwetten These two, Kosakowski and Zverev have never met each other head to head. Kosakowski is the younger player at 20 years of age and is doing well right now. He has won 11 of his last 11 matches. Zverev on the other hand has won 8 of his last 11 and is a few years more experienced in the professional tennis arena and is 25 years old. Kosakowski is currently ranked 304 to Zverev's 168. Even though the younger Kosakowski is on a roll right now, the experience of the older Zverev will probably pay off in this semi-final in Sacramento. Zverev and his greater experience may just put a halt to his younger opponent's winning streak. All the Best, Bloke

Re: October 1-7 Back Novak Djokovic (-4) to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga for a 2/10 stake at 1.83 with Pinnacle The Serb will be trying to complete his hat-trick in Beijing and I expect him to accomplish that feat with something to spare. The surface is right up his alley, as it allows him to utilize his entire arsenal, and he should simply be too strong for Tsonga. The Frenchman is fully capable of beating the top guys, but it always takes a bit of magic for him to do it and that scenario is not going to play out too often in my opinion. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/djokovic-vs-tsonga-betting-novak-djokovic-should-be-able-to-win-his-third-beijing-title Back Kei Nishikori to beat Milos Raonic for a 2/10 stake at 2.50 with Paddy Power Not sure what is going on here with the odds, but I would not have Nishikori as such a big underdog after seeing his performances against Baghdatis and Berdych. It will be harder to break Raonic down, but Nishikori is an extremely nimble guy that should be able to find some openings and take advantage of them with well-timed shots and good passes. And, to top things off, he is also going to play in front of a great home crowd.
