Re: League 2 > September 22 Port Vale v Gillingham The top two clash at Vale Park this weekend and to be honest I don't see us winning, 3 of our 4 first choice midfield face late fitness tests and it doesn't seem likely more than one will make it through. Charlie Lee went off injured on Tuesday, Jack Payne failed a fitness test before the game as did Myles Weston, Weston and Lee have been two of our best players this season. Mad dog Allen likes to rotate and its obviously done us well so far with 6 wins out of 7 in the league, but this is certainly our biggest test so far, Vale are flying with 11 goals in 2 games against Fleetwood and Rotherham, the two most fancied teams to go up this season we have won 3 out of 3 away but not against good teams - Dagenham, Barnet and Wycombe. The Vale fans are very confident and Pope is knocking in goals for fun. Danny Kedwell was out on his feet on Tuesday night and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him start on the bench, I think successfully defending the one goal lead for 45 minutes with 10 men on Tuesday against Southend was great for morale but I think it will have taken a lot out of the players and with a chunk of the midfield missing I think this is going to be a tough game most our fans would certainly take a point if it was offered now, there are rumours that Nottingham Forest striker Robbie Findley is going to sign on loan for us today which looks like a cracking signing potentially but he isn't going to get up to speed straight away..most firms have dropped their prices on the DNB market, bet365 have this one at 1.61 for example so the 1.8 ladbrokes have looks a bit off. Won't be sorry if I'm wrong though! Port Vale DNB - 1.8 - Ladbrokes

Re: League 2 > September 22 Barnet-Rotherham 2 @1.75 5/10 ladbrokes Barnet with just one point from 7 matches so far. They faced some better opponents like Gillingham, Port Vale and Bradford, but also poorer teams like Bristol Rovers and Aldershot. They are harmless up front and extremely poor at the back. To top this, they have a host of injury problems: defender Fuller was injured in the last match and will be out. Striker Nurse (1 goal) is also out after suffering an injury on tuesday while fellow striker Lowe is a major doubt for this match. Midfielder Byrne and winger Abdulla are also out. First choice keeper O'Brien remains sidelined as well as long-term injuries striker Kabba and defender Senda. Rotherham didn't start that good as expected as they have definitely the best squad of them all after splashing the cash on very good players. They have just a 3-1-3 record so far without winning away from home so far but they have faced Port Vale and Northampton so far. They outplayed Northampton in that match and should've won this match by at least 2 goals difference but lost instead 1-2 totally undeserved. Then, they lost 2-6 at Port Vale deserved as they conceded 4 in the first half an hour after an extremely disappointing start into the match. They dominated their opponents a couple of times so far and I definitely see them doing this with a poor Barnet side that it even more restricted by further injuries to several key players. Rotherham has concern reagarding Iceland international Arnason and defender Wilson who are unlikey to play.I definitely see Rotherham winning this one, my call 0-3 or 1-3. GL

Re: League 2 > September 22 Value still on Exeter +0.25 away to Southend as the away side haven't lost since the opening match. Their squad is good enough to fir for promotion. Southend is ranked in the mdifield of the table. Their first choice keeper should be out with a neck injury sustained in midweek. Defender Phillips should be out as well. On top of that, Corr, Prosser, Tomlin, Harris and Leonard will be assessed as they were still sidelined in the last match.

Re: League 2 > September 22 York Cheltenham both teams to score 4/5 Bluesq This bet has come in in every York game this season. York have adapted well to life in league 2 and have little difficulty scoring. Despite strengthening their defence; it seems incapable of keeping a clean sheet. Cheltenham have scored in 6 of their 7 games this season and have conceded 8 in total in their last three games. Goals seem to be on the cards.

Re: League 2 > September 22 Barnet - Rotherham I'm with RedDevil on this one. Barnet have been poor this season losing 6 of their 7 league games and whilst Rotherham haven't set the world alight away from home, they've had 46 shots in their 3 away games whilst limiting the opposition to just 24. Given Barnet's poor start I expect Rotherham's dominance to be reflected by a few goals today. Rotherham to win -1 @ 9/5 (Paddy Power) 2pts (5)

Re: League 2 > September 22 Wycombe - AFC Wimbledon AFC Wimbledon parted company with manager Terry Brown this weekend after losing 5 of their 7 games. They've been far from impressive conceding goals for fun however a change in manager sometimes turns the tide. And whilst being one of the early promotion favourites, Wycombe have disappointed losing 4 of their 6 league games. Include the 1-3 scoreline against Bristol Rovers which was postponed after an hour and things don't look too good at Adams Park (or whatever it's called now) either. The 7/2 that Pinnacle offer for a Wimbledon win therefore looks inviting. AFC Wimbledon to win @ 7/2 (Pinnacle & Bet365) 1pt

Re: League 2 > September 22 Torquay Vs Burton After Burton's terrible end of season run last season they're doing somewhat surprisingly well to be sitting 6th in the division. Emphatic wins at home against Wimbledon (6-2), York (3-1) and Oxford (4-0) imo gives us a bit of value on Torquay today. They don't have this dominance on the road though - 2 defeats and a win on the road but having conceded 10 already and 74 shots in their 7 games I think they'll struggle against a tight Torquay team. Torquay go into the game with just 1 defeat in 7 games but have only won 2 games. However they've probably had one of the toughest run ins so far this season with games against Fleetwood, Cheltenham, Rochdale, Port Vale and Rotherham. I fully expect Torquay's quality to show and will take the 17/16 that Pinnacle are offering. Torquay to win @ 17/16 (Pinnacle) 3pts

Re: League 2 > September 22 I'm a bit more confident today about our (Barnet) chances, certainly not a gimme for Rotherham. The defence is starting to tighten up following the signing of Pearce, and although we are lacking up front, we are staying in the game longer, giving us something to play for. We've also just signed Collins John, who can't play yet, but might give us a boost of confidence going into today's game.

What a signing that is for L2. He didnt look out of place in the Premiership a few years back so am surprised he's dropped so far. Doesn't change my opinion of today's game though seeing as he's not playing.

Re: League 2 > September 22 Forgot to post in here over the weekend and expected a possible draw on the Oxford v Bradford game but some Oxford fans on the footy forums actually said they expected to lose by at least 2 clear goals and singled out their right side of defence as a weakness and mentioned about 5-6 key players being out injured. Oxford were poor but will be ok when they get their players back from injury, 1st half was awful for both sides and we scored from 2 corners. We did seem to target the right back 2nd half with Kyel Reid having lots of success against him (Batt???). Not sure if any Oxford fans went, would be interested in their thoughts on the game and on Wilder.
