Molde have rested two weeks while Vålerenga has a hard schedule during these days, Europa League qualify games, friendly match against Liverpool, Tippeligaen match, furthermore showed out of form performance lately, lost against Tromsø and PAOK. The hosts are better and better with their coach Ole Gunnar Solskjær, especially at home ground. But Vålerenga has also great quality players just struggled without a really good attacker so far. Regular midfielder Hæstad and attacker Shelton are out, both injured. Regular midfielder Strandberg and key attacking midfielder Fellah are available after suspension. Molde has problems in the defence becouse Steenslid is still injured, Steen is doubtful and Forren is suspended, all three are central defenders. Solskjær tried the young Wemberg against Haugesund at central defence (10th round) but he showed awful performance, so the coach will have to changes within the team. And of course the attacking section became a bit weaker after topscorer P. Diouf has sold to København. Vålerenga had big ambitions before the season but if they will lose today that could be fateful. They do not have too big chance in the Europa League after the 0-2 against PAOK at home but they have great chance to finish in the top three in the league. Likely they will sign a quality attacker next week (Gunnarsson from Stabæk IF), they will be much stronger and get a chance for a good season. I think Molde can not win this one. The hosts have stumbled a bit in the last 6 matches (2-1-3) but they do have a very strong home record (7-1-1). The guests have won three consecutive matches (4-0-2 in the last 6) and have a balanced away record (3-3-3). Stromsgodset had a tough match in Madrid where it lost 2-1 but kept alive its hope of promotion to the Europa Cup competition. The teams are pretty even but I think the hosts' performance may be compromised by their Europa Cup involvement. Thus the odds for Lillestrom's win are very attractive. I think it is great motivation for the guys, if someone shows good performance, will have chance to going to a serious league. Excellent central midfielder Hauger has sold to Hannover a few weeks ago, topscorer Gunnarsson also will leave the club after this game, he agreed with Vålerenga, while best midfielder Farnerud approach to Malmö, but it is the future, they are Stabæk players yet and the team performs well lately. They beat champions Rosenborg by convincing manner in the past round. Start has a new coach Mons Ivar Mjelde. He is a great coach who reached great results in Norway but it is only a part of the building, Start will sign new players. They lost against Godset by 3-0, collapsed after a boring first half, Mjelde needs more time and more players who help to avoid the relegation. It could be an easy win for the hosts. This schedule can be tiring but Godset have mostly young players who endure the load and it may be good experience, playing against a famous team like Atlético. Godset plays well at home, their home record (7-1-1, 18-6 gd) is totally deserved, they can beat any Tippeligaen teams. Lillestrøm had decent results in the past weeks despite that they have some contrary within the team, firstly second goalkeeper then star attacking midfielder Igiebor quarreled with the coach, etc. But they did not have sense of achievement against stronger teams away from home lately. They won over Odd Grenland in the past round (3-1), that was a bit excessive result in my opinion. Before that Aalesund and Tromsø beat them, won against poor Sarpsborg with a bit lucky, suffered another defeat against Sogndal. They are not weaker after sold topscorer Ujah but I can not imagine other result than home win. In this case the Europa League games seems advantage in my eyes, it is new experience for the young and talented Strømsgodset players who are hungry for a new victory. They were defeated against Haugesund (1-2) away from home, Odd was better in the first half and missed a penalty, draw would have been fair result imo. Then Lillestrøm SK beat them past round (1-3), Odd had to play without two very important players Fevang and Samuelsen, they were out due to suspension. However, Odd was not bad at all and kept the draw result until the 90th minute when Lillestrøm took the lead. Thereafter all players tried to attack but Lillestrøm scored again and the match ended of 3-1 result. For this game Fevang and Samuelsen are back, it means that only some long term injured players are out. Brann did not play well away from home, lost against Fredrikstad, Viking, Tromsø and Godset, only out of form Sarpsborg suffered a defeat against them in an opened game. All important players are available but I think Brann will leave the pitch without point after this clash, like in recent times on away field. Sarpsborg was a strong home team when the season started but then dropped a lot and they are in the relegation zone at the moment. Key attacker Hoås is still injured – he will be back next week – while his replacement Roberts is doubtful. Last week other relegation candidate team Sogndal beat them by 1-0, Sarpsborg did not have a single chance. On the other hand Haugesund is strong at home but on of the worst travellers (1-0-7, 4-18 away stats). It looks terrible but they should win this game, I think so, or at least won’t lose. They have quite good players up front, like Sørum, Djurdjic and Sørensen, while very important central defender Tronseth is back after injury. And do not forget that Haugesund is in dangerous position too, only four points separate from the relegation zone. The difference between these two teams is bigger than the odds suggest at this time. Yes, Tromso is having a great season and sits in second place compared to Aalesunds' mediocre season and 9th place standing. However, I'm not certain that Tromso has recovered from its recent elimination from European Cup competition after having the upper hand against Paks (lost 0-3 at home). The guests, on the other hand, are flying after their commanding defeat (4-0) against Elfsborg this week. Tromsø lost Høgli and Reginiussen a few weeks ago, both are very important players, Koppinen is still injured while Rushfeldt is not in the starting eleven. There's no doubt about it, this team has great potential up-front with players like Guastavino(6 goals), Mjelde(5) or striker Ojo(10). They can break any defence but at the same time there are some question marks regarding their defense as they've conceded no less than 29 goals. 4 of their last 5 games have ended over 2.5 while 3 of them over 4.5 . For this game Brann has all its players ready to go, and expect them to score here. Viking started the season rather awfully, but slowly got their game going. It was actually a 3-0 home win over Brann which helped them a lot. Goals came from Saeternes. They also have Nevland in their ranks. No important missings for them either. Last season the match ended in a 3-3 draw with the over already won till half time, while at home Viking won 4-0. I see no problems for Brann to score goals here, at the same time Viking will need to score themselves if they want something out of this game. Over 2.5 a minimum, over 3 for better value. Defender Gomboa was sold to Copenhagen and I'm not sure if he will start here. On the plus side center defender Piiroja returns in the team. They are currently on 9th place, and offensive midfielder Elyounoussi is their topscorer with 7 goals. Stabaek just sold their top-goalscorer Gunnarson to Valerenga. They hold the best away record in the league, and are the most overish when playing on the road. They scored in every single game played away from home but conceded at the same time. Even without Gunnarson I see them scoring here, as their midfield is always able of creating good scoring chances, and Gunnarson's main role was finishing them. They usually exploit the wings very well. H2H Stabaek has an advantage over Fredrikstad. This spring Stabaek won 3-1 at home, and I really don't believe that Fredrikstad will be able to hold a clean sheet here. Because of this they will need to look for goals themselves and since both teams will like to win this game an over 2.5 is very likely. This is important because the guests have a very weak away record (1-1-4) and have a dissapointin 7:15 goal differntial. Furthermore, the guests were eliminated last week from the Europa Cup and confidence will be low and fatigue may be a factor. This should be a home win at acceptable odds.
