Aidymac Posted February 12, 2011 Share Posted February 12, 2011 Brenin Cwmtudu - Hereford 4:00 1 of only 2 course winners in the field and looked a much improved horse last time out, he had previously had jumping problems but not last time out when he jumped impeccably and won here at Hereford last time out over 2m 5f. Step up to 3m 1f should be ok and although he is up 7 pounds to 109, he has previously won off 111 so is still well treated. A 6 runner event but in truth, only Cedre Bleu looks like a real challenger. However, Spirit Son had a stablemate beaten by that rival lto and therefore connections should have a pretty good idea of where they are likely to stand against Cedre Bleu and the fact they are willing to put Spirit Son's unbeaten record on the line against him here makes me think that they are pretty sure that Spirit Son is a better horse than Titan De Sarti and therefore should gain revenge on behalf of his stablemate here. Laughing Game has changed stables and is down in distance.Ran well over too far latest and should have a great chance in this grade. This is his hurdling debut and has a long break to overcome but if the trainer has this one ready, then he could go close. Favourite if staying upright will be tough to beat but I will take a chance on Our Musician to be ready for this after a long absence. Jumping left on a couple didn't help. Inside Dealer is a 12 length course and distance winner off a rating of 113. It was 2nd last time out off 125 and races off 126 today but is looking rather progressive and I feel it could be potentially rated in the 130's and it has been consistent with latest form reading 3-1-2-1-2. That 2nd was also over 3m, yet it's last 2 races over 20f and 18f have seen it win both times so the drop back slightly should be a positive today.The course form is a big plus and the ground should be fine. Trainer and jockey have been out of form but Hey Big Spender won yesterday, Kilmurry ran well until pulling up injured (now deceased) and Cannington Brook was 2nd yesterday so they might just start finding some form. This could be nearer a 5/2 shot by race time if there is support for it, interesting that Bertie May has been supported as that is 3 from 5 at this course but out of form. He has won over the track and his jockey and trainer have a decent strike rate together. His win last time out was after a break of just over 8 months and he didnt make the mistakes he had made in previous races so hopefully they have ironed out some of his jumping issues and whilst he hasnt won at the trip he showed no signs of stopping last time so if he jumps well again he could be hard to beat Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Heavy ground again here which he is capable of handing and Scudamore back on board, has won on him in the past and ridden him many times. Evens with another firm and that looks about right.
