    Sevilla vs Manchester City
The second Champions League group stage game coming up on Tuesday night is the 8pm BST start between Sevilla and Manchester City from the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Group G. The home team have experienced a disastrous start to their domestic campaign after a summer of influential departures and they host a visiting team who are already looking dangerous in their efforts to win it all.
Sevilla are currently going through a dark period of their history with the club suffering their worst start to a season in 41 years after losing the defensive duo of Diego Carlos and Jules Kounde whilst also seeing impotency further up the field. Head coach Julen Lopetegui has made some movements in the transfer window by bringing in the likes of Tanguy Nianzou, Marcao, and Kasper Dolberg. It just doesn't seem to be working for Rojiblancos. The club have only picked up 1 point from their first 4 league games leaving them down in 17th place in La Liga. Is it just teething problems or is this the beginning of the end for Lopetegui's reign? Not only do the hosts for this game come into this match knowing they've already lost 3 of their first 4 league games but they also only managed to pick up one win in the group stage of this competition last season.
Manchester City made a statement signing in Erling Haaland over the summer and the Norwegian front man has already scored 10 goals for the club and he looks like the final piece in Pep Guardiola's Champions League jigsaw. Pep himself has stated that Haaland is not necessarily the answer to their prayers but it's clear he could be the differentiating factor. The Citizens have gone unbeaten in their 6 matches of this season so far and have scored a staggering 20 goals during the process. Haaland himself does possess calibre at this level though having scored 15 goals in 13 appearances in this competition for Borussia Dortmund last season. It'll be interesting to see what changes Pep makes to his team with John Stones and Kyle Walker both ruled out for this game.
I am slightly surprised to see Sevilla going through such a rough spell. I thought the sales of Carlos and Kounde were agreed with enough time for them to find suitable defensive replacements but so far it seems that Nianzou and Marcao haven't quite lived up to the demands of the club. Maybe they just need time to adapt and gel. This is the elite level of football though and patience is not a luxury many clubs can afford. I can see Manchester City inflicting more torture on their hosts here.

    Inter vs Bayern Munich
Last season Inter reached the knockout rounds of the Champions League for the first time in a decade, where they were eliminated by eventual runners-up Liverpool. While hopes are high of progressing to the latter stages of the competition again this time around, the Italian giants will have a difficult task qualifying from what has been billed as a potential ‘group of death,’ where they will come up against Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Viktoria Plzeň. Simone Inzaghi's and his players' preparations for this showdown were far from ideal, as they were on the wrong end of a 3-2 reverse to arch-rivals AC Milan on Saturday. Therefore, the Nerazzurri need to stabilize their game to be successful in this encounter.
As for Bayern Munich, they have exited the Champions League at the quarter-final stage in each of the last two seasons following their 2019-20 triumph. What's more, Julian Nagelsmann’s men have not quite been there all-conquering selves in the early weeks of the Bundesliga season, winning three and drawing two of their opening five fixtures. Although the Bavarians need to cope without Robert Lewandowski, they have been pretty efficient so far in the season. However, the visitors want to break a streak of two straight draws and return home with a win.
    Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction
It is going to be an interesting encounter that could easily go either way. Neither side has been consistent lately, and we wouldn’t be surprised if this encounter ends in a draw.
    Goals Market Prediction
Both teams have significant attacking potential, but their defenses haven’t been tight recently. That’s why we believe they won’t keep their nets intact on Wednesday evening.

    Napoli vs Liverpool
For the third time in five years, Napoli and Liverpool are in the same group of the UEFA Champions League. The two will battle in Group A of this season’s competition, with Napoli hosting Liverpool on Match Day 1 of the competition. Napoli is coming from a good start in the Italian Serie A, currently topping the table with 11 points after their latest win, a 2-1 away win over Lazio. They want to pick up where they left off and secure a positive start on the continental stage.
Liverpool’s struggles away from home continued in their 0-0 draw with Everton in the Merseyside derby. They haven’t won an away game this season and will hope for a change here. Another thing they will hope to improve on is their defending, having managed just two clean sheets in the opening six matches. Their scoring run has been impressive, only failing to score in one of the six matches. Nevertheless, the Reds struggle with inconsistency, and Jurgen Klopp wants to stabilize the team. That’s why they aim for success in this challenging outing.
    Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction
Liverpool hasn’t been convincing so far this season, and it won’t be easy for them in front of the hot Napoli fans. We believe the hosts will remain undefeated in this clash. Moreover, Liverpool didn’t manage to win in Naples on the previous three occasions.
    Goals Market Prediction
Their previous three clashes in Italy stayed under a 2.5 margin, while Liverpool still seeks the first goal at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. We think the tradition of low-scoring matches will continue.

Inter Milan is playing against Bayern Munchen for the first time since 2017 after beating them at an away match. Inter Milan saw a defeat in their last against AC Milan. Their performance will not be detained by their previous games and the chance of winning is 76% as their opponent has not lost any first match in the champion League in three straight, which Milan will have to play more defense game.
Bayern Munchen has not lost a single match in their league and with the likes of their new players Munchen will not like to go easy on inter Milan or take chances, most players are at their best and they may not lose to the home team in the first leg. They have played five matches (W3, D2 ) and have scored a total of 16 goals in their last five matches.

I will also play a very small Bet on Donezk. Yes they lost a many Quality. But Leipzig isn´t in Form and maybe they will have not 100% Truth in Squad for Coach Tedesco. So maybe, only Maybe this can be last Game for the Coach. So for me small 1/10 bet on DC X/Donezk

There is definitely a sweet spot that needs to be found between unrelenting commitment and complete apathy. Swing too far one way or the other and you're staring down the barrel of a Christian Gross-style tenure of management. I mean, I say all this, I'm currently in a very modest 83rd place I think it is! Listen to me by all means but then do the complete opposite. That is the key to success!
I can certainly tell you that this private league would be a worse place without you @MinellaWorksop!

I´ve seen some good Potential in some Matches. First is Benfica Game. I expected a close Game - it´s great for Haifa that they will play CL - so they will fight every 6 Games. Think they can make the Game close and can´t see here Benfica make the Mistake and think it will be easy Game. For me also not so many Goals here to see. Benfica also last Year in CL not that Offensive Power Team. Think Haifa nearly on Same Level like Kiev last Year, so Benfica scored a only 2 Goals in Home Game. So for me here Under 3.25 are a good bet.
Other Bets for me are Simple. Man City -1.5 - they are in great Form, Haaland is in great Form and i think it´s first tough Test for the Team. But Sevilla lost many Quality in Defensive and are not good Starting in League. So Man City at the Moment are too big for them.
Other Game is Chelsea - they will win i think and Zagreb also not with there best quality like last Years. So for me here with bet365 builder - Chelsea will win and Under 4 Goals. Can´t see here that Chelsea scored more then 3 Goals, even if they have vor me some Problems this Season with offensive Power.

@StevieDay1983 haha mate, the crazy thing is, I am actually putting the effort in to win, maybe I should adopt the more continental laid back management style? As the 'Mike Bassett School of Management' techniques I am currently applying just aren't cutting the mustard lol.
The wild card was played and I did worse than before. The fans were particularly miffed that I sold Ivan Toney just as he was to go onto hitting peak hattrick hitting form.
I have publicly stated in all my press conferences that the board are the best bunch of guys and gals I have ever known. Cynics have claimed this is some shrewd brown nosing to avoid the same fate as young Scottie Parker.
Chants of ''your not fit to wear the shirt" are said to building up amongst the terraces of the Dynamo CamSmith FC faithful...
Fingers crossed one week I may just get a mention for top scoring, but the bookies aren't quite quivering about that just yet.

The Punters Lounge Fantasy Football League has a new leader with Allan Woods and his Steep Learning Curve team taking the top spot. @Diwopa falls victim to the Manager of the Month curse as he drops to 14th place after a low-scoring round of 29 points. However, it wasn't the lowest score of the week. More on that shortly!
Congratulations to both Allan Woods and Peter York with his Bowhill Bears team for sharing the accolade of Manager of the Week with a very decent 78 points when the average score throughout the competition was just 45 points. It's also interesting to see that just 20 points separate the top 15 teams in this league. It's so close!
Now, onto the award that nobody wants! The lowest score of the round. There were a lot of contenders this week with a large number of teams scoring below 35 points but it was actually two teams who share the dishonour with Stuart Eades aka @MinellaWorksop (Dynamo CamSmith FC) and Andrew Ross aka @glavintoby (Conway@LeeOut) picking up just 22 points. Stuart, you're starting to get a bit of a reputation here. Might need to get a special award for you if this keeps happening!

    Dinamo Zagreb vs Chelsea
The Champions League group stages start and we have an audacious kick-off time for the first ones with Dinamo Zagreb hosting Chelsea in a 5:45pm BST kick-off from the Stadion Maksimir in Zagreb. This Group E clash is expected to go the way of the away team and with AC Milan and RB Salzburg being the other two teams in this group then anything but a win for the visitors will be considered a disaster for them.
Dinamo Zagreb stormed to the Croatian First Football League title ahead of rivals Hajduk Split and Osijek last season but it took them three head coaches to get there. Current head coach Ante Cacic has been in the role since April and the team have started their domestic campaign brilliantly with 7 wins and 1 draw from their 8 league games played leaving them top of the division. The team won the Croatian Super Cup back in July thanks to a penalty shoot out win against Hajduk Split. Fans of the Premier League will recognise one of their arrivals over the summer as former Norwich striker Josip Drmic. The club had to navigate their way past the likes of Shkupi from North Macedonia, Ludogorets of Bulgaria, and Bodo/Glimt of Norway. Attack could be the best form of defence for the Croatian team having scored 14 goals in their last 4 matches with striker Mislav Orsic bagging 6 goals in 7 games.
Chelsea head into this game knowing that anything less than a win will be frowned upon by their fans. The Blues have had an inconsistent start to their league season with the club in 6th position in the Premier League having won 3, drawn 2, and lost 1 of their league matches so far. Transfer deadline day signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be in line to make his debut for the club. Experienced centre back Thiago Silva has been left out of the match day squad for this game though. Head coach Thomas Tuchel already has experience of leading Chelsea to the Champions League title back in 2020/21. I still have doubts about whether Tuchel can re-ignite that glory in this squad but this is a perfect opportunity for the team to begin their European campaign with a solid performance and victory.
I think backing a Chelsea win is the logical option here but it's not exactly the best value. Dinamo are clearly a brilliant attacking team having averaged 2 goals per game in the qualifiers for this competition but Chelsea are a behemoth of a club and Tuchel knows exactly how to grind out results on tricky away days. I can see the away team grinding out a victory but they might well experience a scare or two along the way.

    Manchester United vs Arsenal
Undoubtedly, the biggest game of the weekend in the Premier League is the 4:30pm BST kick-off on Sunday between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford. This fixture is packed with classic moments of a rivalry packed with vitriol, quality, and intensity. These two teams experienced contrasting starts to the season but with both now seemingly in fine fettle entering this game it has the potential to be a firecracker like the encounters of old.
Manchester United were looking like a troubled side after two league games but after some personnel changes and tweaks to his system it seems that Erik ten Hag is moving the team in the right direction. The Red Devils have now picked up three wins on the bounce to move up to 5th in the table and just 6 points behind their opponents for this game and league leaders Arsenal. The club made the decision to splash out £82 million on Brazilian attacker Antony from Ajax at the end of the transfer window and it's hoped that along with Casemiro those two signings can help propel the club further up the table. Cristiano Ronaldo could be a leftfield pick for anytime scorer. He might not be flavour of the month with ten Hag but he has scored 7 goals in his last 8 matches against Arsenal. The ominous news is that United have lost their last 3 league games played on a Sunday. It's their worst run of results on a Sunday since 1990.
Arsenal come into this game as the early season league leaders with 15 points from their 5 league games and boasting a 100% record. It hasn't all been straightforward but Mikel Arteta's men look like genuine title contenders right now. Can they keep it up? The Gunners have won their first 5 league games for the first time since the 2004/05 season. They ended up finishing 2nd place that time around. They haven't won their first 6 league games in a season since 1947/48. There is also the opportunity for Arsenal to keep a clean sheet in each of their first 3 away league games for just the second time in their history. The only other time that achievement was recorded was back in 1995/96. The team are now on a 6-game winning run including the back-end of last season and if they win here it'll be the first time they have won their opening 3 away league matches to a season since 2013/14.
Head-to-head stats over recent meetings do favour Arsenal with Manchester United only picking up 1 win in their last 8 meetings. However, that was a 3-2 win at home last season. Arsenal have only managed to earn 1 win in their last 15 league visits to Old Trafford and they have lost away against United in the Premier League more times than against any other club. I'm expecting a thriller here and I wouldn't be surprised if it went back and forth before ending in a score draw.

    Everton vs Liverpool
The Premier League waits for no-one (except the person in charge of giving the green light to start kick-off when he adverts have drawn to a close) and the games are back in full force this weekend after a midweek schedule. It's a barn-stormer to kick start proceedings too with the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool at 12:30pm BST on Saturday afternoon from Goodison Park.
Everton are doing as poorly as a lot of people predicted this season. Frank Lampard hasn't really been able to silence his critics with the club failing to win any of their opening 5 league games leaving them down in 17th position. The only positive is that they have actually drawn 3 of those league games. The Toffees did do well on transfer deadline day though bringing in midfield duo James Garner and Idrissa Gueye from Manchester United and PSG respectively. Neal Maupay could be in line to make his debut too. It's three 1-1 draws on the bounce for Everton and they could draw four league games in a row for the first time since 2012. There is a risk that Everton could fail to win any of their opening 3 home league games of a season for the first time since 2014/15. It also doesn't bode well that Lampard has lost each one of his four league meetings with Jurgen Klopp. You may remember that touchline barney they had a couple of seasons ago when Lampard was in charge at Chelsea.
Liverpool will be pleased that their slow start to the season appears to be behind them now. Klopp's men are in 6th place but still 7 points off the pace of the league leaders Arsenal. The Reds have yet to win on their travels in the league this season which is a big shift from the away form they finished last season with which consisted of winning 7 of their last 8 away league games. The last time Liverpool failed to win any of their opening 3 away league matches of a season was back in 2010. Liverpool have managed to score in 52 of their previous 53 league matches. There is a chance for Darwin Nunez to make a bit of club history in this game by becoming the first Liverpool player to score in both of their first two away league games since Jan Molby managed it back in 1992. If you're looking for an anytime scorer bet then Mohamed Salah has scored 3 of his 4 goals against Everton at this stadium.
It makes for pretty grim reading when you see that Everton have only managed to win 1 of their last 23 league games against Liverpool. The two teams are in two completely different places right now. Liverpool are also unbeaten in their last 11 away league trips to Goodison Park. It's also worth noting this fixture has seen a record-breaking 22 red cards shown down the years. Away win and a home team red... let's do it!

    Aston Villa vs Manchester City
The final game of the day on Saturday in the Premier League is the 5:30pm BST kick-off between a struggling Aston Villa and reigning champions Manchester City at Villa Park. It was the home team who briefly looked like they might spoil City's title party at the end of last season but they couldn't hold out. Can they go one step better on home turf this time around and put an early dent in the visitors' title defence?
Aston Villa have experienced a tricky start to the season so far. Fans' patience with Steve Gerrard is waning after they managed just 1 win from their opening 5 league games leaving the club in 19th position in the table. The Lions have now lost 3 league games on the bounce and the double signing of Leander Dendoncker and Jan Bednarek on transfer deadline day has hardly got the supporters buzzing. Does it also suggest a lack of confidence from the owners in Gerrard that his spending was restricted on the final day of the window? A loss here would see Villa lose 5 of their first 6 league games of a top flight season for the first time since 1986/87. The team have already lost 13 league games in 2022. Only Everton have lost more. It's also just 3 wins from their last 16 league games under Gerrard. It also doesn't help the pessimism that the Villans have lost 15 of their previous 16 matches played against the reigning champions in the top division.
Manchester City once again showed in midweek how destructive and ruthless they can be with the 6-0 win over newly promoted Nottingham Forest at home. Another hat-trick from star striker Erling Haaland also showed his danger in and around the 6-yard box. The Norwegian international now has 9 league goals already and is proving to be the missing piece that Pep Guardiola craved. The Citizens have scored 19 goals after 5 league games and it's their highest tally after that many games in a Premier League season. The team are 2nd in the league and only 2 points behind league leaders Arsenal. They have the opportunity to score 2 or more goals in a 15th consecutive league game here which would equal the Premier League record set by Liverpool back in 2019. It's now 20 away league games undefeated for City so all the statistics are pointing towards one outcome here.
OK, hands up if you're putting Haaland as your captain again for this game after his midweek performance but also half expect Pep to screw you over by starting him on the bench? Hopefully, because Haaland was hauled off early in midweek that was with an eye on him starting and with Kevin De Bruyne starting on the bench in midweek I assume he'll start which is the lethal combination no Premier League defence wants to see. I can see City running riot against a Villa team who are suffering right now.

Honestly, we played them last week and drew 0-0. Never encountered a team so negative before. I've always rated Ryan Lowe as a manager but it seems he's setting out to simply not lose with this lot and then try to suckerpunch a winner. It appears to be working so far but it can't last surely! Games like this against Birmingham they should be looking to win and not be so negative. You're right though. I can't see a different story here. Under 1.5 goals would make sense. You know if Preston do take the lead they're going to sit on it and not look for more.

It's a quick turnaround before the week 6 matches with the deadline on Saturday at 11am but here's a quick check to see how the picture changed (or stayed the same!) after the midweek Premier League games. @Diwopa has repelled all attacks on his lead at the top and he has managed to do that even without having Erling Haaland as captain. Imagine the damage you could've done if you'd made that choice, Carles! Still, it's been enough to seal you the August Manager of the Month award. We shall be in touch shortly to confirm your prize!
@StevenKing and his warning hazchem side are right up his rear though! His 97 point haul was impressive but it wasn't the top scorer for this round. That accolade went to David Notman and his Jam Tarts team with 98 points. He did captain Haaland but also had strong returns from Joao Cancelo, Mohamed Salah, and Gabriel Martinelli.
The whip of shame this week will be lashed upon the virtual back of Sean Miller and his Letters Numbers Goal team that could only muster 23 points. Only Bukayo Saka and Jamie Vardy scored higher than 2 points in his team resulting in one of the lowest weekly scores of the competition thus far. Those players will be in for extra training this week!

I’ve gone for one small bet so far, Erling Braut Haaland to score first against Villa @ 3.10 with Bet365.  I think he will really want to impress and there is a good chance this will land.

Preston have played 7 games.. and have won 2 and drawn 5 ... the key stat is that they won both games 1-0 and all of the draws were 0-0 (must be exciting stuff). They play Birmingham who are one of the poorer teams in the division in my opinion.
The obvious play is UNDER on the goals market.

Deadline for week 6 is 11am tomorrow!

    West Ham vs Tottenham
The next Premier League preview for the Wednesday night matches is the 7:45pm BST kick-off between London rivals West Ham and Tottenham from the London Stadium. These two teams are currently sitting at opposing ends of the league table but when it comes to bitter rivalries there's no doubt that form could well go out of the window for this intense match-up.
West Ham appear to have finally woken up for this season. David Moyes's side picked up their first league win of the season on the weekend with the 1-0 victory away to a struggling Aston Villa. An assured set of performances in the Europa Conference League means it's not their first win of the campaign but it'll go a long way to boosting spirits ahead of this tricky fixture. The Hammers are still at risk of losing their first three home league games of a season for the first time in their history. The team might have managed to score in every single home league game last season but they are yet to find the net in front of their home fans yet. The club have also lost their last four London derbies played. There is reason to be optimistic for West Ham supporters though. Michail Antonio has scored in each of his last 3 home league appearances against Tottenham and Moyes himself has only lost 1 of his previous 10 league encounters at home against Spurs.
Tottenham are showing signs that they could fulfil pre-season expectations of being Champions League qualification contenders again. Antonio Conte's men have picked up 3 wins and 1 draw from their first 4 league games of the season putting them in 3rd place and just 2 points behind pace setters and local rivals Arsenal who sit on top of the table. The club have only experienced a better start to the season once during the Premier League era and that was back in 2009/10 under the management of Harry Redknapp. Tottenham have actually earned the most points in the top flight since March. Striker Harry Kane is laying to rest his August curse with a string of goalscoring performances. The England captain has bagged 4 goals in his last 6 appearances against West Ham and after scoring 2 last weekend you'd fancy him to add to that tally here.
It's actually West Ham who have every right to feel confident coming into this one having picked up back-to-back home league wins over Tottenham in the top flight. Tottenham are a beast of a team this season though and edge the head-to-head statistics over the last 13 meetings with 7 wins. If West Ham were like their old selves last season then this would be a banger but I feel this game is there for the taking for Tottenham.

I've backed them to get 3 or more corners at 5/2 with Sky Bet (cut almost immediately to 7/4 so someone thinks I'm a shrewdie evidently).
Sky Bet have taken an extreme view on the corners split in this match going an incredible 1/150 for the hosts to get most corners when it's as "big" as 1/14 elsewhere. I suspect City will get most corners but there's early evidence they're not the monster corner gainers of last season (perhaps playing more direct and centrally to accommodate Haaland?) There could be some value to be had on their prices for City corner unders but I'll settle for a bet on Forest to get at least 3 at that price. It's the coin toss line elsewhere so you could probably make a case for the 7/4 being fair at worst.
