Roy, you're right. That's the problem with us at the moment. We're not making the small moments count. Every time we concede the first goal away you can guarantee we have missed a golden chance literally seconds before. It's the brutal reality of the Premier League. The most annoying thing about the whole penalty issue is that Victor Camarasa wanted to take it but Joe Ralls refused to let anyone else have it. Camarasa was the player everyone, including Warnock, wanted to take it.
I'm torn over Ralls. Never been his biggest fan. I've always felt he's had a fair share of lenience from fans (the same as Harris) because he's spent time in the club's youth set-up before coming into the first team. However, I felt he just about coped at Championship level. In the Premier League, he's out of his depth. He let us down by getting sent off against Tottenham and now he's missed this pen so the fans have finally lost patience with his attitude and performances.
The key thing here is that after a disappointing display Warnock always has us bouncing back. You've all seen his changing room rants. I dread to think what he said after that West Ham game to the players. He was raging during the game. Everyone's talking about the Southampton new manager bounce. Watch out for our angry Warnock bounce!
P.s. I apologise if we let you down!

i have bought harvey barnes goal minutes 3 times this season and he has scored on 77,77 and 87.
He has 8 in 20 the timings as follows (in reverse order) 77,77,82,72,87,63,65,45
There is a pattern here of late goals, maybe because he is rarely substituted.
I will buy his goal minutes at 16 with spreadex.

Seems like I just finished typing the midweek predictions and here we are again, gotta love the festive football.

Bournemouth V Liverpool. Liverpool are developing the ability to not play so well and win, always handy when challenging for the title, I think they will nick this with a couple of late goals. DRAW HALF TIME/LIVERPOOL FULL TIME @ 4/1 MARATHONBET

Arsenal V Huddersfield. Arsenal would of been a little disappointed with only a point at Old Trafford and I expect them to make amends here, although Huddersfield have improved and maybe Arsenals style will suit them, however a home win is inevitable. UNDER 2.5 GOALS @ 4/7 BETFAIR

Burnley V Brighton. Agree with above statements that Burnley must start to get some points from these fixtures and I think they might this eek, not faulting Brighton and Chris Hughton, they play the right way and I like the guy, however I think Burnley will just edge this. OVER 2.5 GOALS @ 77/50 MARATHON BET

Cardiff V Southampton. @StevieDay1983 How the West Ham game would of been different if that early pen had gone in. A week ago I would of had Cardiff in this for sure, however the new manager syndrome could come in to effect here, amazes me how many teams win the first game of a new managers reign, so I am not so sure on the outcome of this match, this is a loose one for me in terms of betting however i'll go for CARDIFF TO WIN @ 2/1 BETWAY

Man United V Fulham. Surely Surely United will end their run of draws here?? Ranieri will probably set up being hard to break down and United find it hard to break sides down with their lack of fluid football however they have to start winning and the manager may have to stat throwing caution to the wind, with that said there seems to be considerable unrest at United with the managers style, still think they will win though. DRAW HALFTIME/UNITED FULLTIME @ 18/5 MARATHONBET

West  Ham V Palace. Where to start with the if's but's and maybe's, if Cardiff score the pen, If Palace could play the same two games running. I think this will be quite a tough encounter and in a rather cliche way the first goal here will be of paramount importance as both sides wobble when conceding first, think Palace will give this a better go than they did at Brighton, that said i'm opting for a draw here, but a scoring one so UNDER 1.5 GOALS @ 13/5 UNIBET & 888SPORT

THIS IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE FIXTURE OF THE WEEKEND
Chelsea V Man City. With Chelsea's surprise defeat at Wolves and City seeming to march towards the title this fixture is probably beneficial to a team not playing in it ( Liverpool ) the reds will be hoping for a home win or at least a Draw, City do not seem to change their approach to any fixture and this will be no different but Chelsea will be keen to put a dent in City's charge, I think this will be a tough one but I expect City to just nick this also. CITY HALFTIME/CITY FULLTIME @ 21/10 BET365

Leicester V Spurs. Another tough one this in my opinion but Spurs do seem to come up with a way of winning these tough ones at clubs Like Leicester. I think the outstanding bet here is for both teams to score @ 9/13 10BET & SPORTPESA

Newcastle V Wolves. Are the Wanderers finding form again, they will no doubt be buoyant after a superb win over Chelsea and Newcastle too after a hearty point at Goodison, Newcastle are so indifferent and that makes this tough as they will expect to win this sort of fixture at home, and Wolves will think they can get 3 more points here. hard to call for me. OVER 2.5 GOALS @ 38/25 MARATHONBET

Everton V Watford. So Silva and Richarlison  Are up against their old clubs and despite the usual I rspect them etc etc they will bith want to win this one desperately and I think they will do just that, however I expect a battle because Watford will equally want to prove a point. OVER 2.5 GOALS @ 47/50 MARATHONBET

Another weekends fixtures done, good hunting to you all and as usual, eat drink be merry but especially drink

    Cardiff vs Southampton
OK, so I'm still nursing a wounded heart after our 3-1 defeat away to West Ham in midweek. It was a massive disappointment because we missed the penalty and really should have been ahead at that point anyway. Still, this Saturday delivers another crunch game at home against fellow strugglers Southampton in a 3pm kick-off at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Cardiff have looked like they are adapting to Premier League life a bit better recently. The team in general is showing more confidence. The problem that still plagues us is momentary lapses of concentration. It cost us points against Leicester, Everton, and now West Ham over recent weeks. The top flight is a cruel mistress and it punishes those lapses.
That's the difference between the Premier League and Championship. Right now, we're still outside the relegation zone but we need to pick up more points in those games where we compete and have our chances. We are in 16th place but just 2 points outside the bottom three. A loss here could see us slide back into the relegation zone heading into Christmas.
Southampton are actually worse off than Cardiff. Mark Hughes was sacked a few days ago after just 1 win all season but the club has moved quickly to bring in former Ingolstadt and RB Leipzig manager Ralph Hasenhuttl. The Saints have a track record of making shrewd managerial appointments over recent years with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Ronald Koeman, and Claude Puel all delivering decent results. However, recent appointments of Mauricio Pellegrino and Mark Hughes haven't worked out quite as well. Hasenhuttl is a gamble but Saints don't have the luxury of a sure thing right now.
The "Alpen Klopp" has a reputation for a high press game. That will play into our hands. We had teams come at us all season last year and it's what we built our counter attacking play on. I'm not sure Southampton currently have the personnel to maximise that strategy. Maybe they do. It'll depend how the players react to the new approach. I suppose the likes of Shane Long, Steven Davis, and Stuart Armstrong could adapt well.
Anyway, this could be a tough game for both teams. Neil Warnock was clearly raging after Tuesday night so he'll get a reaction from the players. There have been calls from our fans for Joe Ralls to be dropped and for Victor Camarasa to move central for a while. I think the penalty miss and the general performance from Ralls on Tuesday could trigger it. I can see Murphy coming back into the side with Hoilett on the other wing. Camarasa, Arter, and Gunnarsson in the middle.
I'm torn about what to back. I really think we can get the win here. There's a lot of talk about the new manager bounce but it's a big job Hasenhuttl has. He needs to change more than just the tactics. He needs to change the mentality and the morale of the team. We're turning the Cardiff City Stadium into a bit of a fortress and I think we could sneak the win here. That is me being an optimistic fan though so you might be better advised following @Mindfulness's advice on the draw! However, I do think Hasenhuttl could well still save Southampton. Might need a bit of time and a couple of new faces to see that change happen.

    Hi Stevie,
Luhukay is just a patsy to take the heat for the chairman. He doesn't help himself by constantly changing the defenders and also switching between a back four and five, but the anger is being directed at him because the chairman is not around most of the time and he is an easy target. There have been numerous errors of judgement notably a survey asking if we wanted high prices and continued investment or lower prices and young players being promoted into the first team as if the two were mutually exclusive. What we have ended up with is high prices and kids being promoted. Many senior pros have been frozen out with no explanation other than it is for footballing reasons or they are injured (when the players say they are fit) i.e. westwood and Hutchinson. Michael brown said on sky that if westwood played 2 more games he would be entitled to a new contract. Because the club doesn't communicate this leads the fans to speculate that the reason for freezing players out is financial. The chairman has managed to price out virtually all commercial sponsors so we are left with chansiri and his two fake businesses (D Taxis and Elevate Energy drink) as the only sponsors. He came up with 3 and five year season tickets which people bought into and that money has probably been used up now. He came up with a scheme where you paid 2 grand to have a plaque on your seat and was hoping for 15,000 I think to take up this offer. The list goes on and on. Its a mess and I think will get worse-I believe we have a good chance of relegation, but thought that last year too and was wrong. Against Bolton the official attendance was 19, 000 with approx. 13,000 in attendance (6,000 season ticket holders staying away).
    I could go on....

    West Brom vs Aston Villa
The Championship throws up a West Midlands Derby on Friday night in an 8pm kick-off when promotion rivals West Brom and Aston Villa go toe-to-toe at the Hawthorns in this game that appears almost certain to be a goal fest. Who will prevail victorious on the night?
West Brom are in the middle of a decent run of form at the moment. Their 1-1 draw against Brentford at home on Monday night will disappoint them because they conceded so late to surrender two points against a team that had been struggling for results. Darren Moore will expect his team to bounce back with a win here. The Baggies are in 3rd place and a win would really crank the pressure up on the two teams above them in the table in the form of Norwich and Leeds.
Aston Villa are slowly starting to look more assured under new manager Dean Smith. Smith lost two of his first three league games in charge of the Villains but has since won 4 and drawn 1 in the league. The most recent victory being an emphatic 3-0 win away to Middlesbrough. What a huge statement of intent that was from Smith's team.
The last time these two sides met was back in January 2016 in the Premier League when they played out a boring 0-0 draw. This is likely to be a bit different. This time they are both fighting at the right end of the table, albeit the Championship, and they have scored a combined total of 81 goals between them already this season.
It's bad news on the history books front for the Baggies. It appears they don't like playing at the Hawthorns on a Friday night having lost 4 of their last 5 matches in that scenario. To add to that negativity, Villa have already bagged more points this season under Smith than they did under Bruce.
I'm going to have to back Villa to get something here. They are in irresistible form and their only blip in recent weeks was the 5-5 draw against Nottingham Forest in what was an insane match. West Brom are looking class this season but the late goal conceded against Brentford earlier in the week plus Villa have the extra rest could combine to give Villa the edge. It's also worth backing Tammy Abraham to score because the Chelsea loanee has bagged 10 goals in his last 10 league games. That includes 7 goals in his last 4 league matches.

i said in a previous thread that i thought rotherham were overpriced at 15/4, which has now shortened up to around 5/2.
The mood around wednesday is fairly miserable at the moment and maybe rotherham can get their first away win of the season.
The crowd want the manager to be sacked but the owner is not one for either admitting mistakes (of which there have been many) or acting decisively. I have sold the second rotherham goal at 79.5 as well as backing them to win.
Leeds seem to have an injury crisis at the moment having lost dallas and cooper recently for around 6 weeks. Ayling and berardi are also out. Qpr are 5/1 which will probably shorten up because of this.

On paper this game should be close, Cardiff have looked decent in recent matches, particularly at home where you can see the spirit level is good. Southampton sit 2 places and 2 points below Cardiff in the table and the away side should be buoyed by the arrival of new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
ELO ratings between the two are virtually identical and I think we have an increased chance of stalemate here so I will back the draw.

    Newcastle Utd V Wolverhampton Wanderers
    X @ 3.15 Unibet
Both these teams achieved morale boosting results in midweek and it's hard to see either side loosing on Sunday. After discounting the home game against West Ham, we can see that Newcastle games are generally close and usually decided by a single goal margin. They are hard to beat under Benitez and I like their defence even more now that Jamaal Lascelles has returned from injury.
Wolves are a bit of a glamour club now and their international calibre imports enjoy playing in games against the big 6. I still feel they have problems scoring goals and opposition manager Rafa Benitez has the tactical nous to disrupt Wolves's?ez?'es?'ss?'sss? tricky 3-4-3 system.
ELO ratings correlate with my view of the game. I can see this one ending in a low scoring stalemate so I will back the draw here.

Welcome @MarioDunav! Can you just make your font size a little bit bigger? I'm getting a bit older these days and can't read text that small!
Rather than write a conventional preview for the West Ham versus Cardiff game tonight I'll cover some thoughts here. Right now, we're still playing like a team that is together, possesses self-belief, and has the motivation to keep battling. Will it last all season? I'm not sure but I believe so long as Warnock stays in charge it will.
West Ham are a bit up and down lately but their form has improved a lot compared to earlier in the season. Manuel Pellegrini's side have won 2, drawn 2, and lost 1 of their last 5 league games. Their form at the London Stadium is hit and miss so it's a tough one to call.
Cardiff really need to improve this away form. We've only earned 1 point away this season and that was against 10 man Huddersfield. We have battled well and we deserved something from the trip to Everton. It's only a matter of time before we get an away victory. I'm not sure it'll be tonight though.
My concern is that West Ham are too dangerous out wide and that's where we are weak right now. I'd love to see us go 3-5-2 so we have Manga playing centrally with Morrison and Bamba. We don't have wing backs suited to the roles though. We got away with Camarasa and Hoilett playing there on Friday against Wolves but it won't work against West Ham away. I can see Warnock reverting to a 4-4-2 and we'll probably lose by the odd goal. I'm thinking we'll lose 1-0 or 2-1. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we grabbed a draw but we'll see.

StevieDay1983 got a reaction from Roy The Boy in Premier League Predictions > Dec 4th & 5th
@Roy The Boy, interesting thoughts. I'll quickly reply to your West Ham versus Cardiff comments and your question directed at me.
Firstly, there is a general feeling that we could get something at West Ham tomorrow night. The players are fighting until the bitter end in each game and our performance levels are improving overall. It's only been momentary lapses in concentration that have let us down away from home. I'd like to see the 3-5-2 again but I'd prefer Bennett in on one wing. Camarasa and Hoilett left us too exposed. I have a feeling Warnock might resort to 4-5-1 though. If we do that I don't think we can expect more than a draw but I just have a feeling we could get it. A 1-1 or 0-0 draw really wouldn't surprise me.
Secondly, I agree about Warnock being harshly labelled. Our fans love him. I love him. I had a soft spot for him before he joined us. He's always said that Cardiff are his kind of club and our fans have always said he's our kind of manager. This season has been brilliant. Even when we were bottom we were all loving it. Vincent Tan knows that. He knows the fans will keep turning up if Warnock is there and he trusts Warnock both on the pitch and off it. I'd be amazed if Warnock is sacked. No matter what happens. My feeling is that if we stay up he will likely resign unless Tan persuades him to stay. If we go down, he'll give it one more year to get us back up and then leave I think.
@The Sexless Innkeeper, it's funny you say that. I've felt for a while that Chelsea have a brilliant starting XI. Not up to the standard of Manchester City or Liverpool but competing with Tottenham and Arsenal. However, after that they struggle. Eden Hazard is going off the boil so it'll be fascinating to see if the other players step up. I feel Willian has more to offer this season. Luckily, Loftus-Cheek appears to be raising his game. Kepa has also adapted far better than anyone could have expected. You'll win against Wolves. Unless they change something they could be in serious trouble.

    West Brom vs Brentford
Ooh, what a treat this is for all us Championship punters! A game on a Monday! On this rare occasion it's West Brom taking on Brentford at the Hawthorns in an 8pm kick-off. The home team will want to win to keep up their strong promotion fight and the away side desperately need a win to halt a massive dip in form over recent weeks.
West Brom are 4th in the table with a game in hand on the teams around them. 34 points from 19 games is proof that the club made the right decision in sticking with Darren Moore. It was a no brainer at the time and rightly so. The Baggies have won three in a row in the league including a crushing 4-1 victory over promotion rivals Leeds.
Brentford have struggled to adapt to life after Dean Smith. Thomas Frank has been left with the task of moulding a backroom team out of the members that didn't depart with Smith. It's undoubtedly been disruptive because the Bees have lost 6 of their last 7 league matches since Smith's departure.
It's been a while since these two sides last played each other. The last meeting came on 12th August, 2003 when West Brom won an EFL Cup match 4-0. Brentford don't have the best record at the Hawthorns having lost all 9 previous visits to the ground. The last visit came on 1st February, 1992 when they lost 2-0.
You can certainly expect goals tonight. Since the Championship was re-branded into its current guise back in 2004/05, only Wolves and Southampton have scored more than West Brom's 41 goals by this stage of the season. This is a potent Baggies attack.
I'm sorry to say to Brentford fans that the way things are going I think it'll only get worse. If I was a Brentford fan I would probably be calling this a crisis. Admittedly, they've battled well against decent sides. Their recent defeats against Norwich, Middlesbrough, and Sheffield United have probably been anticipated. Still, losing can become a habit and it's one I think will continue tonight.

    Alessandria v Piacenza
Piacenza are 12/12 with Over 1.5 goals this season, 6 of which went Over 2.5.
Alessandria are a better side than the table suggests and sooner or later should start grabbing some wins. Their last 2 home games ended Over 2.5, and 3 of last 4 overall.
Last season's H2H ended 3-2 and 1-1. The asian goal line has great value ihmo, with a refund in case of just 2 goals.

Jeez no rest for the wicked, I'd like to say, I knew Hughes would get the sack if Southampton didn't beat United and can't see where his managerial career goes from here?? Never been impressed with him as the gaffer.

    Gotta love midweek fixtures though.

Bournemouth V Huddersfield. Bournemouth were unlucky not to get a pen at 2-1 down against City an who knows from there, and Hudersfield may have got something if they kept 11 on the pitch, I expect Bournemouth to get through this game though ot may be tougher than they expect. Bournemouth Half Time/Full Time 9/5 @ BETVICTOR, LADBROKES & CORAL

Brighton V Palace. somehow this is classed as a bit of a derby, maybe it's an Eagles v Seagulls thing, Palace will be jubilant after finally scoring from open play and winning at Selhurst and I have a sneaking feeling for an away victory here and I don't know why...................... Palace to win 44/25 @ MARATHONBET

West Ham V Cardiff. West Ham will certainly be expecting to win after their dismantling of Newcastle away, But the Hammers do blow hot and cold and there could be a surprise here at the London Stadium, Both teams to score YES 11/10 @BETVICTOR

Watford V City. There is not a single game where I don't expect City to score at least 3, they just have goals everywhere and always conjure something up, Watford can be tricky at home and do tend to give a good account of themselves, however City will have to Much. City Half Time/Full Time 10/11 @ LADBROKES & CORALS

    Wednesdays Games

Burnley V Liverpool. I don't think Liverpool will be reliant on goalkeepers baring gifts this week, They seem to be stuttering a little but still digging out the result they need, however I expect them not to struggle here and although I think Burnley have got to get a run going soon, it won't be in this game. OVER 2.5 GOALS 19/29 @ 188BET

Everton V Newcastle. How is Evertons recovery after they conceded that shocking injury time winner in the derby, well I think fortunately for them they meet Newcastle team that are easy pickings in my opinion and I think Everton will grab all 3 points EVERTON TO WIN 8/13 @ MARATHONBET & SPORTINGBET

Fulham V Leicester. Ranieri will make Fulham harder to beat and for a side struggling that is well needed, they gave a good account of themselves against Chelsea and I expect more of the same here, Leicester are always prone to nab you on the counter and that is how they will set out, as there ever been a manager that has taken charge of a side and then played two of his former sides in his first two games? DRAW 28/11 @ UNIBET

Wolves V Chelsea. I find it intriguing that when Cardiff were off to a terrible start people were calling for Warnocks head, yet Nuno Espirito Santo with his quite big budget and squad is not having a bad word said what do you think @StevieDay1983?, now that is not me saying Wolves should sack him, no way!!!! The visit of Chelsea will get the Wolves right up for it but again I expect the blues to have to much. CHELSEA HALF TIME/FULL TIME 19/10 @ BETVICTOR

United V Arsenal. Wwell well well, could this be Mourinho's last game? There are rumblings at Old Trafford, Players are not happy and haven't been for a while, Jose said United would be top 4 by January, however he did not say which year!!!! His only saving grace is it will cost United around £11m to sack him and his ego will not allow him to walk.  If Arsenal approach this the right way I see nothing but an away win here, United are struggling to make chances especially in the first 45 Minutes at home and that air of inevitable late goal has long since left Old Trafford, United are there for the taking. ARSENAL HALF TIME/FULLTIME A WHOPPING 17/4 @ BETVICTOR

Spurs V Southampton. A big loss for Spurs at the weekend in terms of them not seeming to be able to close the gap on the top sides, however what a fixture to bounce back on, I can no longer moan about Mark Hughes on here but Southampton are poor, I bet a certain Mr Redknapp is gutted he's in the Jungle, the Saints job would be right up his street again . I see nothing but a comfortable home win here OVER 3.5 GOALS 7/4 @ UNIBET & BETFAIR

I'm a Chelsea fan and I can tell you, there is a reason for that price. We are grinding out points and it's only matter of time when it will stop. Half of that team is not good enough for the title challenge and what can I say, Conte and Sarri are wizards who made / make them look better than they really are. We don't have a striker, we don't have a right winger, Kante is not playing in his natural position and our centre backs are disasters waiting to hapen. Okay, rant over. We might win this game but purely on individual quality. Still favourites I guess but as I said, I understand the price.

West brom v brentford should be an open free flowing game with plenty of goals. I will try a few scores: west brom 3-2, 4-1 and 4-2 all with ladbrokes boosted at 20/1, 33/1 and 45/1. I have also bought harvey barnes goal minutes at 15.

I watched the Cardiff game, and would agree with your comments, they certainly look to have had the wind knocked out of their sails. I can see Chelsea winning but probably by a very small margin, probably later on in the game as well.

As a Stockport fan even though i predicted Barnet to win in the last round in their replay,i wont be forecasting anything for this one, County have 1500 fans going down for this and with the North London Derby probably putting off a few from going i think we will possibly outnumber the Barnet fans, hoping for a draw to bring them back to Edgeley but not predicting anything here.
My one cup bet of the week is Fleetwood -2 on the Asian handicap away at Guiseley, Fleetwood won at a canter away at Alfreton in the last round and i know Guiseley shocked Cambridge utd and were 4 up at one stage they very nearly through it away and i think Cambridge didnt turn up on the day while i am sure Fleetwood wont be under estimating Guiseley, had a look on Betfair and over 5/2 is available on the exchange.
Going to have 3 points on this
