The rematch is tonight. Whyte was all over Povetkin in the first fight, knocking him down a couple of times, before a big uppercut from Povetkin won him the fight. I think, aslong as Whyte can guard against that, he should win this one.
    4pts Whyte in rounds 7-12 9/4 skybet
    2pts Whyte in rounds 9-12 11/2 skybet
1pt Povetkin corner to throw in the towel to end the fight 6/1

The second semi-final today to see who will faces Robertson, in the final. I was tempted to go with Hawkins, because I think Ronnie played well in the first match, but nothing like his best. Trump was very poor in his match, but I think Hawkins is hitting abit of good form. Ronnie has a terrific record against Barry though and although there hasn't been a huge amount of century hitting, I'm going to go with both to hit 2 centuries.
2pts Each player to make 2 centuries or more 7/2 paddypower

Looks like Williams overperforms when you don't back him?
Carter was a good result for you @ 10/1 though.

Selby runs away with it. Wilson looked poor. The 5/2 comes in but for the first time this season, Wilson goes out of a tournament without a century. Today we've got Judd Vs Bazza Hawkins and I think Hawkins is abit of value. Hawkins has always been decent against Trump and whilst he didn't beat him last time out, he led 5-1 before losing 6-5, at the German Masters. In matches that matter (ignoring Championship League) it's been 6-5, 6-5, 5-4 all to Trump in the last 3. It wouldn't suprise me if we saw Barry take a lead again here and it end up going to a final frame once more. Either way, I think the value is with Barry
    4pts B.Hawkins (+2.5 frames) to beat J.Trump 7/4 bet365

come on now, Barry isn't an amateur. 40s is too big for this.

Yeah, tell me about it. Not only did I miss out on the first pot, but 9-5 up and Jack had hit just one break over 80 (a fluke red) and ofcourse he goes and hits a 129, to have  highest break by 8pts. You just knew the moment Robertson missed the red, in that frame. Perhaps I was too greedy, as I knew Robbo would win easy and my initial thoughts were handicap betting. odds on for -3.5 was stingy though.
Selby Vs Wilson today then. Very boring match and one that I think Selby wins. I've been looking for some value. If you take away events like the Championship league then Selby leads the head-to-head between these two 5-0 and with the CL, 13-3. However, we can probably ignore anything pre-2019 as Kyren Wilson wasn't the same player back then and couldn't string anything over 80. 7 matches since 2019 and it's 5-2 Selby, but both wins for Kyren were the Championship League.
I think much like Jack Lisowski and Neil Robertson, Selby has abit of a voodoo on Kyren Wilson and I think he comes out on top. Part of me wants to go for frames here, but I think we'll see a few centuries and a Selby win (around 10-6 / 10-7)
5pts Each player to make a century break and over 15.5 frames 11/10 paddypower
    ------------------------------------------------
2pts M.Selby to have highest break, most 50 breaks and win 5/2 paddypower
    2pts 5 or more centuries 5/2 paddypower
    1.5pts M.Selby and J.Trump both to win 10-7, 10-8 or 10-9 8/1 paddypower
    Tour bets -9pts

No joy lastnight. I find it hard to fathom there being 18 frames of snooker between Ronnie and Higgins and only 3 centuries. Higgins wasn't very good though, on the whole. Far too many mistakes and left his best play too late. I think Ronnie likes to have little excuses regarding his cue and such as a back up if he gets turned over again. He had similar kind of excuses when Trump took him to the cleaners. He played OK, Ronnie. Good enough to beat a vast majority.
Today, we have an in-form Jack Lisowski take on Neil Robertson. I would have thought many people out there would be looking at Lisowski here. Makes sense, he has much better form coming into this. Robertson has gone out early in the last couple of tournaments really whilst Jack has got to multiple finals and been on fire. Difference is, this event is pretty big. Higgins said yesterday it was now the 2nd most important event and ranking points wise and money wise, it is.
I can see Robertson putting on a show here, whilst I can also see Jack being very nervous. I hate betting on "to pot first ball" but I think Robertson hits a couple centuries and I think he wins so in my mind I'm getting 3/1 on Robertson potting first.
2pts N.Robertson to pot the first ball, most centuries and win 3/1 paddypower
2.5pts N.Robertson highest break, most 50 or more breaks and win 6/5 paddypower

The first match gets underway at 1pm and it's a pretty good one. Ronnie O'Sullivan takes on John Higgins. It will be interesting to see if Higgins can continue his form in this event but I already have him as an outright and so I don't want to go in again for him to win this match. I think the bet looks to be with the centuries. In a "first to 10" I think it's worth betting on both to get 2 centuries. I'm also going to have a small punt on Higgins winning this one with a few spare. I see it going either this way or Ronnie steps up his game.
2pts Both players to hit 2 centuries 9/4 paddypower
    2.5pts J.Higgins (-2.5) to beat R.O'Sullivan 12/5 bet365

We have had a low success rate this week with only 18 winning bets.  But Division 7 are bossing it with an overall profit for the second week and have again produced the top performer with another new player Joelavfc scoring a brilliant 18/1 treble.    Fader was next best with a 10/1 treble for Div 1.
International matches next weekend so we'll take a week off and come back for Easter weekend. There are a lot of EFL games on the Friday, but those league teams also play on the Monday so I'll probably take those later fixtures as our options to avoid you having to post your bets early before Saturday.

This gets underway tomorrow. The draw was tonight. Post Pro Series event. The event is the top 8 players on the one year ranking list. It goes for a week and here is the draw :
    Trump Vs Hawkins
    Higgins Vs O'Sullivan
    Robertson Vs Lisowski
    Selby Vs K.Wilson
Last time we saw John Higgins at the Players Championship, he was on fire. If that level follows to this event, then I think the 7/1 on Higgins looks a decent price. There is a few flags on a couple of these players and it's unsure how they'll perform and so I'm not looking to get heavily involved here.

300/1 Steve Lennon, one win away from getting to the semi-final. Played so well, but he got Peter Wright in the semi-final, who was on fire. I did mention before that I thought Wright was due one and he blitzed Price in the final. Also Cullen in the semi-final unfortunately.
I had the Barney bet voided as he apparently collapsed at the event.

Tomorrow will be the Phase 2 final group, which will compete the final, which will be played on Sunday. Tomorrow's group :
    Trump
    Bingham
    Selby
    O.Lines
    Day
    Dale
    Yuelong
    Walden
Some serious players in this group, but only 2 can go through to the final on Sunday. It looks most likely that Trump and Selby will be top 2 but Bingham won 7 from 7 in his group with a 100% record, winning all 7 matches 2-0 and not dropping a frame.
I think the best outsider punt would be to go on the tournament outright market. Trump is likely to win this group so if we can find a player who sneaks in top 2 and has a shot tomorrow, much like Ali Carter, who won his group. I'll give Zhou Yuelong a chance. He tends to do well in these short formats. Won his group in Championship League and also has done well in this event.

Carter wins the group. Only losing one match, to Williams, who comes 2nd. Both go through to the final group. The 2nd "phase 2" group looks like this :
    Xintong
    Ning
    Murphy
    Carrington
    K.Wilson
    Milkins
    Woollaston
    Guodong
This is a much tougher group than todays. You could see 3-4 of these guys winning the group. Kyren Wilson and Murphy are the two short favourites. Both won their Phase 1 group with ease. Murphy won 7 from 7 in his group and hit 3 centuries. Kyren won 5 from 7 and hit 5 centuries. Both groups were quite weak though and I'm happy to leave them both alone. I like Xintong tomorrow. He has already hit 5 centuries in his first phase group. He tends to be a player who either turns up and is on fire, or is awful. I'll take him to win the event, much like the Carter bet, as I see that as better value.
In the group betting, I'll take an outside punt on Carrington. He has some good form at the moment.

We're into Phase 2, 4 days of phase 2, with the top 2 going through and completing an 8-man final group, on Sunday, Here's the group listing for tomorrow :
    Hancorn
    Akani
    O'Donnell
    Cahill
    M.Williams
    Haotian
    Carter
    Heathcote

Mark Williams always seems to under-perform when I back him. I like Ali Carter and Haotian tomorrow. I'll take Haotian to win the group, but with Carter, i think it's better value to back him to win the event, at 20/1. He ony has to make the top 2 here, and then he is a 20/1 shot in the final group. Better value in my eyes
1pt e/w A.Carter to win WST Pro Series 20/1 paddypower
1pt Haotian to win group 1 15/2 paddypower
