Woody bay is in good form winning 2 of last 3 but punished for recent win so this will be much harder now ....top two are coming to peak form ....Mon beau will love the good ground so now has optimum conditions .....seduce me woukd prefer good sft but is undoubtedly well treated currently and will be winning soon when cards fall right ...
Mon beau visage 5pts ew 5/1 wh
Seduce me 5pts ew 16/1 b365
I always look to back something in a race like this with a horse that is coming into a bit of form or improving back to it. There isn’t a lot that fits the mould here. I would back Mon Beau if the ground was a little softer but it must be in with a chance. However on speaking to my colleagues the Easterby clan are expecting some improvement on Parys Mountain, but not to get carried away as this is just expected. So a small win on this one with a saver on Mon Beau.

Sorry! I’m being lazy! My small treble is above! I’m having a bit of fun whilst I watch the hillbilly Laytown races! I like Rippling Waters of Osbornes!

7.00 Ffos Llas
Impulsive American - 5/1
Last seen on the flat back in September 2016 winning a 2m handicap at Ayr off 76. Runs off the same mark back on the flat today but has decent 5lb claimer Finley Marsh in the saddle so effectively 5lbs lower than last flat win/run. Since that has been running over hurdles as well as the larger obstacles off marks as high as 137. Most recent run was in a 3m handicap hurdle when finishing 2nd off 121. Should be perfectly well handicapped back on the flat now and looks a solid bet.
Hello Dan, thanks for the write up. Totally agree with you and I’m going to join you!

After my winning double yesterday I will stick with it. So a win double on -
2.00 Goodwood Lyricas Lion - Get to the front and shouldn’t have to much trouble holding off this bunch.
4.10 Goodwood Austrian School - Same as above really. Love this horse over this trip.
Oh well! I thought Lyricas would win this race comfortably.

2.15 Worcester - King Muro 2/1
A horse that coming back to form and with the 10lb claimer looks well treated. There is not a lot of opposition and I’m making this my maximum bet today.

2.45 Beverley - Mr Lupton
This race should be run to suit this horse who dies have to turn the form around with Take Cover. It has also previously beaten the Nunthorpe winner. I can see it having its day here Both Take Cover and Mr Lupton have high draws. But I’m on Mr Lupton. Connections say it’s running well and are quietly confident.

7.50 Sedgefield
Chookie Royale looks interesting here making his belated handicap hurdle debut at the grand old age of 10. Has won no less than 15 times on the flat off marks as high as 109 in the past. His last run on the flat was back in November 2016 when winning a Class 2 conditions race at Kempton over just 7f. At that point in his career he was rated 104 (AW) on the flat. Since then he has been very lightly campaigned, running just the once in 2017 (incidentally that was a good 3rd here at Sedgefield behind the classy Bulkov now rated 130). Since the turn of the year, he has run in a maiden hurdle followed by 2 novice hurdles, admittedly not showing a great deal but was a decent 3rd in his last maiden hurdle beaten 8 lengths. Considering he is still officially rated 87 on the flat (and 103 on the AW), his handicap mark of 102 he could be absolutely thrown in on handicap hurdle debut.
Totally agree Dan with your comments apart from the fact that at the age of 10 can it stay the 2 miles? Or did it even in its younger days? Be interesting to see! Good luck

4.40 Muss - Bodacious Name and a cover bet of Something Brewing
ive got both of these on my watch list but I favour the strong running Bodacious Name to land the spoils. Came 2nd to a well handicapped horse and was running through the finish. Fool to Cry and St Andrews are both held on previous form.

Not sure what's happening at the Racing Post site but every time I open a card all my settings have disappeared and I've got to reset them for every card
Infuriating
I’m having problems with that site as well! I also get redirected saying I’ve won something as I’m a google user which is clearly a load of crap!

Left too much to do and had traffic problems last time in a much better race, should beat these although for some this will be the horse to oppose as per usual, cant blame them. lol
Yes, did it easy! Looks like a favs day at Ripon!

Brother McGonagal 12/1 PP
Noted this one running on after getting a bit behind last time, finished 6th clear of the rest and just noted it for next time. This race looks less demanding to me and the Easterby horses tend to be aimed at handicaps here. Decent EW bet and i'll be surprised if its 12/1.
A tricky race, it was a bit of a laboured 6th place. Only running on through tired horses and was never getting to the front 5. However as you mentioned a less demanding race. I’ve had a go on Grandee as it likes Ripon, down in grade and has the assistance of them cheeky peices! On a winnable mark as well. Only a win bet for me at the price of 7/1 in an open contest.

A tight little handicap in which I had already backed shortbankandsides each way thus morning at a decent price but with a saver on yours. I don’t like Daffy even with De Sousa on it!
Omg I got that one at 12/1! Lobster for me tonight swirled down with some champers!

Militia 9/2 PP
Tough racing at the minute and with the ground about to turn keep the stakes sensible.
I give the Fahey trained Militia a chance here after a disappointment at Goodwood last time. Decent form prior to that including here in May so looks sure to be involved. 9/2 looks a very fair price, 5/2 in some places i noticed??A tight little handicap in which I had already backed shortbankandsides each way thus morning at a decent price but with a saver on yours. I don’t like Daffy even with De Sousa on it!

Well I got that wrong! I broke my own rules on each way on 7 runners! Typically 3rd.

Cliff 10pts ew 5/1 willh
I didn’t see the race but I see it came second! Nice! Probably run better on g/s ir soft so maybe one to monitor.

Some info that my first horse is running well and they are expecting a good run in the 2.40 kempton - Indian Sounds
Im playing a double on this as well with 2.45 Ascot Cape Byron - loved its last run. Not an easy race I must admit but it wouldn’t be 7/1 in a 8 runner.
