  1. Re: England > Midweek > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sept 27

Great guidance on here in regards to saturdays games,i Had mentioned the possibility of grimsby but good advice steered me clear from that/ Tonight i like the look of Kidderminster and Wrexham. any thoughts with Kminster at just short of evens at home,i find that worthy of a punt..
I know the Wrexham fans fancy their chances tonight but I reckon Saturday was a blip for Mansfield and they are the best team I have seen this season and its not a game I would really want to bet in although I think Wrexham are too short. Wouldnt put you off Kidderminster though, Grimsby have only scored once on the road and after a small improvement they seem to have gone back to how they started the season.
  2. Re: England > Midweek > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sept 27 Nothing to heavy from me this mid week but I am going to have a couple of small plays. Forest Green v Newport Newport's performances have begun to improve and they were unfortunate not to get a vital three points against Barrow on Saturday. They have the quality in the team that once they get a bit of luck and gain that win I think they will kick on. This game offers a good chance for me to gain that win. FGR's form really doesnt amount to an awful lot and their home form has been poor. I think at 12/5 with Coral Newport offer a bit of value here. Luton v Cambridge United I think some of their early results flattered Cambridge but they have impressed with their last two victories and the fact is they have only lost twice yet this season. Luton had a big reality check on Saturday with their 3-0 defeat at York and they are still suffering from a lot of injuries especially at the back. Cambridge have the quality going forward to do some damage and I reckon they can get something out of this game. Coral, Stan James and Paddy Power all go 7/2 on the draw no bet market and that is too big in my view.

  3. Re: Cycling 2011

Gonna try Greipel (32 with Betfair). It will be surprising if this doesn't come down to a sprint finish and I see a bit more value here than with Cavendish who is ~7. Looking back through this years results there's an arguement to be made that Greipel is the only rider to have beaten Cavendish in a Grand Tour sprint through sheer pace (Petacchi did beat him at the Giro but he was weaving about a bit and I have a feeling that when Farrar won at the Tour Cav lost his train or got blocked). Germany looks like they have a strong team to help Greipel, certainly stronger than GB's and with the potential for punctures on this course and crashes (see the women's race today) I'd rather be backing someone at 32 rather than at 7. One outsider as well Bak (251 with Bet365). Bit of a failure this as I placed this bet a couple of days ago and now on Betfair he's available at ~500. Denmark's chances of a home win probably went up in smoke when Breschel got injured and looking through their team I can't see anyone who could really be classified as a sprinter, therefore their best hope is going to be a break or if someone can shoot off from the front with a couple of Kms to go and Bak is possibly the sort of rider who could do that (or at least try). We saw him on the Champs Elysee hanging out in front of the peleton for a while and only getting caught in the last few Kms - so anything's possible.
Having witnessed Cav in the flesh last Sunday he is in stunning form and if it comes down to a sprint and hes there he is not going to get beaten. Not sure whoose in the German team but the British team looks strong to me. Thing is will the other countries let it become a sprint because they know there is pretty much one outcome if that happens.
  4. Re: England > Weekend > Blue Sq Bet North & South > 24 September Sorry to people who have followed me today as I have had a shocker. I went to Bromley again and they played better than on Tuesday and actually passed the ball around which at least meant they created some chances although they lacked the quality to put them away. Welling were a disappointment and its hard to see them still being near the top in April on that effort although it was disappointing that once they got in front they didnt see the game out as neither side created anything of note bar the goals in the 2nd half. Hyde nearly lost although did have 10 men during the second half but even so it was a very disappointing effort from them. Hopefully things will change for the better on Tuesday night.

  5. Re: England > Weekend > Evo-Stik Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem > 24 September

addpea why that odd so high ?? something wrong , maybe Hendon plays with B team ?? Can you explain me ? I mean iff odd was 1.50 that´s normal odd , but 1.80 .....well i hope so
One of the reasons are Hendon are away and I would guess the other would be that Kingstonian are usually at the other end of the table and bookies to like to price up on tradition in non league rather than on what is actually happening on the pitch. In my view its an error on their part and thats why I have backed them, hopefully they can now go and win.
  6. Re: England > Weekend > Blue Sq Bet Prem > 24 September

Well we are lurching from one crisis to another! Andy Morrell is taking charge for tomorrow and I understand that Brian Carey, Saunders' number 2, has had an offer to join him. He is spending the weekend thinking about it although he would be mad not to go, if truth be told. The WST seem further away from a deal than ever, as it appears Due Diligence has revealed something that calls it all into question, reading between the lines. The WST put in an amended bid on the strength of it and the owner spat the dummy. Feck knows what will happen next week as he is saying that the WST put in a non refundable deposit on Monday or he will talk to another consortium (who, if the rumours are true, he has already been talking to anyway). The guy, frankly, is scum. On to the game and, again, adversity might just pull the team and the fans together. There will be one change, at least, to the team that started at Southport, as Obeng serves a one game ban for two yellows. He will probably be replaced by Westwood, who has been off the pace so far. The problem, though, is that the goals have dried up, coinciding with the suspension of Danny Wright. Tomorrow is his last game out but, until he is back, we may remain goal shy. A no play for me...and praying I still have a club next week.
Blimey I thought things were getting better for you, hopefully things will get sorted.
  7. Re: England > Weekend > Blue Sq Bet Prem > 24 September

Any decent info on grimsby' date='wrexham it appears have lost manager dean saunders?think they could be worth a bet?[/quote'] Bit of a surprise that hes gone and I wonder what the Wrexham fans will make of it, judgeing by some of the team selections hes made of late they might be quite pleased. Grimsby have won three out of the last four after a dreadful start but Im not sure the form is worth much and they dont really interest me, if anything if Wrexham keep drifiting I would be interested in that.
  8. Re: England > Weekend > Evo-Stik Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem > 24 September As I have said in the other thread no Ships this week and he takes a much greater interest punting wise in these leagues than I do but I do have one bet. Kingstonian v Hendon Apart from a 4-1 win on bank holiday Monday it has been a miserable start to the Ryman Premier season for Kingstonian. Their only other point came on the first day of the season and they have failed to score in their last three league matches, which includes a 6-0 drubbing by Billericay. The FA Cup didn’t bring a change in fortunes either as they lost 3-0 to Poole Town who play at the level below. So that’s four games without a goal, 13 goals conceded during that time, and they now face top of the table Hendon. Hendon are still unbeaten and I was impressed when I saw them draw with Lewes a couple of weeks ago. They are a team worth keeping on the right side of and with Kingstonian looking so bad, there really should only be one outcome here. Hendon should be odds on chances and I can’t believe Coral are going 5/4 about an away win.

  9. Re: England > Weekend > Blue Sq Bet North & South > 24 September Eastwood v Hyde I start this week with that first five point tip of the season, which is Hyde on the handicap at 6/5 with Blue Square. I wrote on Tuesday that Eastwood are in a mess right now and there even seems the possibility that if the supporters can’t gain control of the club from owner/manager Jamie Brough soon then they may not see out the season. Brough is no manager and with the fans protesting by staying away from the game on Tuesday they continue to look very opposable, especially as they face Hyde who have won all ten games and didn’t have a match this mid-week, so should be fresh. Eastwood have conceded four goals in their last two matches, Stalybridge had enough chances to score more than two before that, they kept a clean sheet against Blyth Spartans, but are lacking a striker and five games ago Corby put five past them. Hyde meanwhile have scored in every game, have only failed to score at least two goals on one occasion, and have scored three in their last four matches. Eastwood have only netted four goals in their last six appearances, three of which came on Tuesday against a Bishop’s Stortford side who were lacking in defence. Hyde have some of the best attacking players in the Blue Square North and I just can’t see how they are not going to win this game by more than a goal. Bromley v Welling I went to watch Bromley v Woking on Tuesday night and it confirmed my suspicions that Bromley aren’t very good. They were gifted the lead by Woking thanks to a shocking back-pass and the keeper was at fault for the second. All they did was hit long ball after long ball and there isn’t much class in the side from what I saw. They looked a bit shaky in defence, the keeper wasn’t great either, and although Woking weren’t at their best they still fully deserved the 4-2 win. Welling were top of the table before Woking’s win on Tuesday night and although I am a little concerned that they have lost games they should have won to Dorchester and Borham Wood in their last three matches, I still think they should have more than enough to beat Bromley. Coral’s even money on an away win is too big for me. Eastleigh v Staines The bet above means it is the third time on the trot that I am taking on Bromley and the 4-1 defeat by Staines was the highlight of my tips last Saturday. Staines followed that up with a 2-1 defeat at Dartford, but considering they are second in the table there is no shame in that effort at all and they still look a side who are improving. Eastleigh have got a very young team this year and look like they will continue to struggle. They have only won twice and have managed to pick up just a point against bottom side Hampton & Richmond in their last four. This seems a very winnable game for Staines and Coral go a rather large 2/1.

  10. Re: Cycling 2011

Got Cav at 6/1 for the road race on Sunday with William Hill..not sure if that's decent or not? Paddy Power only offered me 4/1 and Ladbrokes asked me "don't you mean the Tour de France, mate?" :unsure This was actually at bookies, not online.Every one had to ring up and ask for these..
Betting shop staff wont have a clue what your on about. Prices are up on oddschecker. Laddies, William Hill and VC are best price on Cav at 7/1. Gilbert is the favourite but as strong as he is it surely isnt a course best suited to his strengths.
  11. Re: England > Midweek > BlueSQ Bet North & South Sept 19-20 I went to the Bromley v Woking match and although they made it interesting by gifting Bromley 2 goals and not playing at their best, the best team won. Bromley are shocking they just hoof long balls all the time and scored thanks to a crap back pass and the keeper getting lobbed after going for the ball then got caught in no mans land as he realised he wasnt going to make it. On tonights showing I would happily oppose Bromley against most teams. Like I say Woking werent at their best but kept going and were there to make the most of some sloppy defending/goalkeeping whilst also still creating some good chances themselves.
