Sorry, but the comment is like Gazza giving Ronaldo advice on how to look after yourself and have a long career! (For the avoidance of doubt I'm not saying that @Skittle is a Ronaldo among punters and you're certainly no Gazza, but the comparison is valid in terms of discipline and longevity. He's got threads that have been run consistently for about 10 years.)
I think this thread can be viewed as an adjunct to his existing long-running threads to accommodate any additional bets he likes during the World Cup.

Group B...England to qualify @ 1.04.
There will be more similar bets to the ones above coming up. I'm not missing bets just because they will take more time to complete. I'll continue the betting as though these types of bets are considered winners. Obviously, a losing bet scuppers it all.

Like the rest of the groups I'm looking at the short prices for qualifying and not qualifying. The above format looks like it's from Bet 365. Restrictions on their betting limit accas to 6 or 7 bets unfortunately, but I'm still looking to have a field day nevertheless. Hollands price@ 1.12 to go through is a steal. I don't see winning being only 12p for a pound. I see 12% profit on a bet, you can't get that from a bank.

I'm seeing plenty of opportunities to make gains from this tournament. 
Betfair have good prices for qualifying from the groups but you can't put them together, not that I can see. Bet365 lets you do so but prices are a little lower and accas are limited to 6 or 7 selections. Bet365 also have prices not to qualify, again, some good selections available.
Paddypower have prices for players to start the first game v Iran. I've already taken 3.75 about England, France, Argentina and Brazil to qualify.
I'll be looking to post throughout the tournament on here but will be using some bets on my other threads as well.

One qualifier only, same for the non qualifiers. I don't get too greedy as that's when mistakes can happen.

Glory Hunts tend to fall into 3 broad categories:
"Regular" betting where people are just chronicling their bets in one place and tracking their profit/loss "Double up" threads where stakes are rolled over on short priced selections with a view to making a profit "Consecutive bets" threads where the aim is to place as many consecutive winning bets as possible, often with a view to getting on the leaderboard The latter category is usually more about the fun/enjoyment of the chase rather than done with the intent of making a serious profit.

In truth it does show a couple of points that need to be kept in perspective. 
If you keep on trying, you will get there in the end.
The balance is what makes the 'difference' for want of a better word. That difference is the one between the blind faith of a devil may care attitude and the cost of pursuing that belief.
You need to attain some kind of balance or the perspective may be lost.

I spent a fair bit of time on both of my main threads doing the facts and figures. Not quite sure why though. Maybe I was looking for some kind of confirmation that what I was doing was indeed both successful and worthwhile. 
Success can be measured in different ways. My view of success appears to be based on numbers and consecutive winning bets. Whether this is actually the case is subjective. In my case I believe that the numbers game has had success although this may be purely due to the fact that I keep on trying for more. Again. this is subjective and other people will view it differently. The one thing I have noted, almost as a by product, is that neither thread has been particularly profitable, although at the same time there has been no great loss. Had there been a big loss I may have had to rethink the process. As it is I will probably make some small adjustments here and there and continue in a similar way. 
I hope this little insight has made some of you have a look at your betting patterns and situation in just a slightly different way that will improve your 'systems' and make them just that little bit better.

There has been 69 attempts on this thread, aiming at a good run or, more lately, a double up scenario.
There were 18 double ups with 12 being successful.
Of the 69 attempts 9 ended in single figure disaster and 9 ended up over 100 winners, 2 of which went on to pass 200.
Thread began January 2013.
