Fourth Act in the 3.25 at Carlisle, 1/2 pt e/w 6/1 Stan James. Colin Tizzard send his runners on the long journey up from Dorset, and Fourth Act has to be reasonably good value in this poor race.

just rated the november hcap at donc
misterioc 99.10
zand 99.08
argus 99.05
just looking for a bit of value ....misterioc and zand are closely matched in this . argus is fav but on paper misterioc should reverse form at these weights ....at twice the price of the fav he looks fantastic ew value .....zand is more of a speculative bet ...has been running well on the a.w so no guarntee he will hold form on turf especially soft but zand has run well on turf and is very nicely weighted in this so definate chances if acting and johnston no mug especially in races of this type .....both good value bets in big race
misterioc 2 pts ew 12/1 lads
zand 2 pts ew 16/1 lads

Trainer Iain Jardine has had some fancy priced winners this season so a chance is take on his sole runner of the day at Doncaster, his 6yr old ran a cracker here back in June under Megan Carberry over 1m 6f so this drop back down is of no concern.
Sure he's not won a race since 2013 when he was under Michael Bell but again that was then this is now, with 23 runners heading for post it's not a race for the faint hearted, it's also not a race you could lay down your rent money on with any great confidence but it does look worth having a go.
Jockey Edward Greatrex gets the leg up for the first time BUT will surely have sat on the fella more than once back home, he also takes off a very valuable 5lb and in this ground could make all the difference at the business end, ''Note'' the selection has won on similar ground in the past.

Carters Rest 3-20 Market Rasen, 1/2 pt e/w 9/2 with various including Betway.
I am slightly curious as to why with Musselburgh on just a few miles up the A1 from his Borders yard, Geordie Bewley sends Carters Rest the much longer distance down the same road to Market Rasen. Joanna Walton takes the ride and reduces the 11.12 to be carried by 7lb, interesting.

19. PRINCE OF PENZANCE
Trainer: Darren Weir. Jockey: Michelle Payne. Barrier: 1. Odds: $81
Every year, there are always a couple of Melbourne Cup horses which couldn’t win the race with a 100m headstart and a jetpack on their rear fetlocks. Prince of Penzance has a good trainer, jockey and barrier. But if you draw him in your office sweep, your best bet is to swap tickets sneakily with the office drunk. Either that or quit your job.
Funny game at times!

Jimmy2shoes got a reaction from Cairnhill Diamond in Monthly Naps Competition, Monday 12th October 2015
Mr Hannon has two in the race and I'll have a go with the supposed 2nd string, the 2yr old filly has a string of placed efforts and just hasn't fired in her last two attempts, she's had a wee 3 week break and Mr Hannon might have worked some magic on her ''thus showing up today''
She's yet to score from 7 starts but finished 2nd twice under jockey Cam Hardie, he gets the leg up today and I'm sure Mr Hannon would be a little disappointed if one of his two runners didn't get competitive.

Towc 3.25 - Serenity Now - win at 3/1 bog ladbrokes
Class 3 handicap hurdle
The current favourite, Argot, comes from the Longsdon yard and his runners are always poor value at tis time of year as they tend to backed whatever as he's got the reputation of being an early season trainer. Of course they still win races and this one won last time out at Plumpton.
Plumpton and Towcester are very different and it remains to be seen how he handles a stiff track having won over no further than 6 furlongs on the flat and on a sharp track over sticks
My selection looks more of a stayer having won over 14 furlongs on the flat and over 20 furlongs at Hexham. He was beaten just over a length off this mark on his return to hurdles last time out and I'm taking him to outstay the favourite up the hill.

Jimmy2shoes reacted to robertob in Photos: Cologne (GER) - G1 'Preis Von Europa'
Had the chance to go over to Cologne last weekend to the big racing weekend around the Group 1 'Preis Von Europa'. Two days of excellent racing, with the big Group 1 as the main act, but also some intriguing listed events and international starters, mainly from France. Cologne is a huge race track, with two old wooden stands, restaurants and betting halls, yet a lovely, cosy track. Not quite the newest standard, nonetheless with good facilities and full of charm. The track was rammed both days, with almost a 16.000 capacity crowd on Sunday.
The big race went to the tough filly Nightflower, ridden by Andrasch Starke. She was Oaks runner-up earlier this year but flew home on Sunday, beating fine opposition in Dubday, Ito and Sirius.
Here a couple of my shots from the weekend...
