  1. Well done anyone who had NICK ROCKETT to win the National. The Mullins Machine just rolls on and on.
  2. Champion jump jockey three times in the last five seasons (not including current one). Baffling really.
  3. Aintree 1.20 BUILDING BRIDGES @ 50/1 (bet365) Thank you.
  4. A very good morning to all. A rather nice 35/1 advised winner yesterday with SHE'S A SAINT has certainly stoked the fire nicely for Grand National day, and looking forward later to the big one which should be a fascinating renewal of to me the world's most exciting (not necessarily the best) jumps race. Having already posted my National fancies as promised these are the other bets I will be having on this Super Saturday. The highlighted horses as this text are the bets that I feel could be strongest, my first two are shots in the dark so here they are with brief comments: Aintree 1.20 TIMMY TUESDAY @ 8/1 (generally) BUILDING BRIDGES e/w @ 33/1 (paddy power) 6 places - Take no lower odds on both horses. Strictly speaking should leave this race alone as no strong opinion but the devil in me says "no, it's national day, have a little go buddy" so I answer the call. Do think Timmy Tuesday will go VERY close IF being suited by the step up in trip, and the longshot case for Building Bridges is similar to yesterday's very nice winner. Has won three times when fresh (189,140 and 152 days), is not badly weighted, will handle ground and has a fair enough chance of seeing out the trip just as well as most of his rivals in the race. He is a 9 year old so obviously takes on probably a lot more progressive younger horses here but I will be happy enough if he can make the place frame at 33/1 or bigger. Aintree 2.30 DOCPICKEDME e/w @ 9/1 (generally) 4 places This 9 year old produced a PB last time out I thought when beating The Changing Man in the Grade 3 Great Yorkshire Chase, confirming the promise he had shown the run previously when narrowly denied by Charlie Uberalles both at Doncaster. His form before those runs was pretty dreadful in all fairness but sometimes going on a horse's last run is all you can do. His last run was good to me, and again he has a fair enough handicap mark along with distance and ground not a problem on past evidence. Hoping for a bold show from the doctor. Aintree 5.35 LE LABO @ 9/1 (hills) SCOPE TO IMPROVE @ 12/1 (generally) What a way to finish, a nice easy 20 runner bumper (lol) and you better get those crystal balls ready to try and find the winner. Joking aside this is a bit of a pin sticker but I'll go firstly with O'Briens Le Labo who ran green first time out but was still good enough to win a competitive 18 runner bumper at Thurles first time out, with the extra distance today hopefully to bring about some more improvement. Secondly, we'll have Scope To Improve for Bromhead and Blackmore who was impressive enough in a bumper at Naas after a facile maiden point to point opener win. I think both horses are on good enough marks to be competitive in the closing bumper finale on National day. * As posted early hours any of these horses may be better prices when BOG comes into operation with some firms from 8 o'clock in the morning. Enjoy Grand National day everyone and best of luck to all.
  5. Hello all. Just came in from being out today and delighted to have nailed a 35/1 advised winner with SHE'S A SAINT. Great effort by young claimer and horse (after so long off a race track) when victory did not look likely until right towards the end of the race Hope a lot of you got on it (probably not), if you did well done and ENJOY THE WINNINGS. T.E. is quite correct and in my confusion earlier today put it in the NAPS competition AFTER I had put Lounge Lizard in which was well beaten, so fully appreciate this winner WILL NOT count for me in the NAPS competition. C'est la vie. Main thing was made a nice few quid off it today and put it with my three in the National tomorrow, so who knows may get a few more quid off it yet.
  6. Aintree 5.15 SHE'S A SAINT @ 40/1 (paddy power) Thank you. ** Please note Mc from confusion on my part had already put day's nap in earlier so this does not count. (unfortunately) Thanks again. WW.
  7. Afternoon all. In the absence of Diamonds For Luck in the Aintree 5.15 I will be adding this one in it's place that I will definitely have a couple of quid on each way: Aintree 5.15 SHE'S A SAINT e/w @ 35/1 (paddy power) 5 places Would not normally want to touch a horse off the track for 314 days with a barge pole but there were a few things that drew me to this one. Firstly, the trainer Dan Skelton (say no more) and the jockey on today 3lb claimer Tristan Durrell (one for one on the horse). Secondly, it has won fresh (244 day break), and run well fresh (beaten a length last time out after an absence of 448 days giving lumps of weight to Mermaids Cave). Thirdly it's lovely low weight which it seems last time it had with this very jockey on board romped home in a novice hurdle by 41 lengths. There is a possibility as suggested by the Racing Post that Skelton has kept the horse to be fresh with this assignment in mind. Either way, sink or swim, it's worth an each way punt today for me.
  8. Aintree 4.05 LOUNGE LIZARD @ 20/1 (bet365) Thank you.
  9. 2.20 WADE OUT 4.05 LOUNGE LIZARD 5.15 DIAMONDS FOR LUCK
  10. Hello all. My three for the Grand National now decided and these are mine for the big one on Saturday, if there are any more bets I feel to be had on the day I will add them in a separate post on the day: (Aintree Grand National / Saturday 4.00pm) STUMPTOWN @ 9/1 (hills) INTENSE RAFFLES @ 14/1 (hills) * Already advised (see ANTE POST SELECTIONS thread) BEAUPORT e/w @ 40/1 (hills/888sport) 5 places Will be playing all three in reverse forecasts and tri-cast combinations. Best of luck to you all in the National lottery (lol) on Saturday.
  11. Hat's off to all on SANS BRUIT. Brilliant performance by horse, relentless.
  12. Brilliant Darran. Very well done m8.
  13. Apologies to Darran and very well done to him too. Obviously a terrific tipster, especially on the hunter chase front.
  14. Well done T.E. with Gracchus. Fantastic call that in a really hard race to solve. Take a bow sir.
  15. Greetings all. Going back to the old Weightwatcher outlook for the second day of Aintree which means throwing darts at the "massive amount of runners handicap" board, so the one race that fits that category perfectly today is of course the Topham Chase. No shame with such a big field at stabbing out three possible suspects and also mixing them up in a variety of forecast bets in the dream of hitting the jackpot. These are mine for the big handicap race tomorrow at Aintree: Aintree 4.05 (Topham Handicap Chase) LOUNGE LIZARD @ 20/1 (bet365) EXCELLO @ 14/1 (bet365/pp) BAD @ 12/1 (hills/pp) And my other bets for day two of Aintree are: Aintree 2.20 WADE OUT @ 8/1 (hills) Aintree 5.15 DIAMONDS FOR LUCK @ 12/1 (generally / take no lower) * JACK HYDE @ 11/1 (hills) * Diamonds For Luck is a non runner. The forecast ground for all three of these is not what any of them would want, but all three share a common thread for me tomorrow which makes me chance them. They all are appearing to be well handicapped novice hurdlers stepping up to handicap company on obviously much tougher assignments. I am hoping their attractive opening handicap marks gives them a decent shout in their respective races. Best of luck everyone.
  16. One more selection for me today having taken a look at the other jumps meetings on offer today: Naas 3.10 POSITIVE ENERGY @ 3/1 (paddy power) Needs to step up from it's maiden hurdle win but well weighted and ground should be fine for a bold effort today.
  17. An advised 13/2 winner to start the day in France with SUBLIMA (returned at 11/2). Hope one or two of you followed.
  18. Bonjour all. The last two posts on the French jumps have brought winners at 7/4, 7/2 and 11/4 with the action on Thursday now coming from Auteuil. These are my plays for the seven race card with my MAIN SELECTION highlighted and my next best bets in NORMAL TEXT: (Thursday 3 April) Auteuil 11.52 BELLINA DU BERLAIS @ 4/1 SUBLIMA @ 13/2 (both in reverse forecast pays 35/1 and just over 31/1 respectively with Bet365). Odds on forecast favourite FORMER FOREST is probably the one to beat but Bellina Du Berlais gets a nice weight pull today with that one on latest defeat so could be interesting opposition. Sublima won it's maiden hurdle well enough last time out and could be a threat IF handling today's forecast softer ground so worth very small cover. Auteuil 1.47 MISS WOOD @ 5/1 Early support for this one from 7/1 is unsurprising after it went very close last time out in a Listed hurdle over this trip last time out at Compiegne, only narrowly denied by Ocre at the finish. Looks on a nice handicap mark to go one better now providing it handles the ground in today's race. Auteuil 2.22 KAPACA DE THAIX e/w @ 15/2 (3 places) (reverse forecast with Light Wave pays just over 32/1 and 38/1 with Bet365 at time of posting) On a roll in weaker contests than this but is on an interesting mark in it's bid to step up in class today with similar comments applicable to Light Wave. PISTACHE DORE is rightfully forecast favourite tonight but needs a bit more on his latest defeat to Kamaro D'huez at the weights, though is by far the class horse in this race. Auteuil 2.57 CELESTIAL SANDS e/w @ 5/1 (3 places) An 8 year old gelding who is in great form winning his last three races and deserving a shot at this much bigger prize today. Obviously more needed in this calibre of race and may struggle if some of his well weighted opponents are on a "going" day today, but would be folly to ignore in his current mood. * All prices quoted are from Bet365 who are BOG from 8 o'clock on day of racing.
  19. 1.45 IMPAIRE ET PASSE 2.20 AVIEMORE 4.05 BENNYS KING 4.40 RATH GAUL HILL 5.15 JACKIE HOBBS
  20. Did not see Koukeo springing the surprise at Exeter. Fair play, game horse to hold off Al Sayah. Generally looks to be not my day on the UK jumps with Lady Caro pulling up as well when seemingly not going too badly in third at Ludlow. One to go, hey ho. And the last one bites the dust too, a blank on the UK jumps today but success in France. Rough and smooth eh chaps.
  21. Lovely advised 11/4 winner with KAMARO D'HUEZ (returned a well backed 5/4 favourite) in France from only French advice given last night. Thought Bet365 were giving punters a great chance for profit last night with that and Game Of Storm both 11/4 so backing either was profit if both covered in singles. Le Listrac ran a blinder unfortunately to deny us the forecast as well with Game Of Storm finishing 3rd. The winner was the important thing. Sometimes what looks possibly easy money is EASY MONEY. Hope some of you were on.
  22. Morning all. As you may have seen from a previous post I am now breaking down selections into MAIN bets which I feel may be strong and possible VALUE BETS which will fall into the "not so strong / possible chance" category. These are mine for Day One of Aintree which all fall into the possible VALUE BET category: Aintree 2.20 LIVE CONTI @ 11/2 (hills) AVIEMORE e/w @ 50/1 (3 places) ** ** see Ante Post Selections thread. Live Conti has both class and probable ground question marks to answer but is almost certainly a danger to PUTURHANDSTOGETHER if addressing those points. Aviemore has not done nothing wrong in it's last two runs but only probably merits small each way consideration. Aintree 4.05 BENNYS KING e/w @ 18/1 (hills) 5 places Grand old warrior now 14 years young and runner up of this race the last two years, ground will not be ideal but retains enthusiasm judged on last time out victory and could be third time lucky for the veteran of the race. Aintree 4.40 RATH GAUL HILL @ 12/1 GALUNGGUNG e/w @ 33/1 (generally) 4 places Great race but tricky puzzle that I don't really want to be putting up main selections in any more unless they are REALLY fancied. Both these have a decent shot though, Rath Gaul Hill has been taking advantage of some nice handicap marks to notch three in a row and remains fairly well treated. Galunggung could be interesting off it's mark at certainly a tempting each way price. Aintree 5.15 JACKIE HOBBS @ 15/2 (generally) Lottery finale with Irish raider SEO LINN and CHARISMA CAT very high on the shortlist along with selection. It is only a gut feeling that the selection may see out the trip best with ground unlikely to be an issue for it and the unbeaten record so far may possibly stay in tact. With three other meetings in UK and Ireland not yet reviewed there may well be a few more selections that I will post up if necessary. Enjoy day one of Aintree and be lucky. * French selections are now posted for anyone who is interested.
  23. A very good morning all. Advised winners yesterday at 10/11 and 7/4, and so on to today with two UK meetings from Ludlow and Exeter. The bets for today are again unfortunately mainly just for interest to turn a probable boring day into a possibly interesting one. These are my advised selections for today: Exeter 3.25 SUPER SAINT @ 13/8 (bet365) AL SAYAH @ 11/4 (bet365/hills) Neither of these are bomb proof by any stretch of the imagination but will be shocked if one of them does not get our bets of to a winning start, preference would be for Nicholls Super Saint with Al Sayah (folly to ignore) returning from a fairly lengthy break. Ludlow 4.15 LADY CARO @ 7/2 (bet365) Do think forecast favourite at time of post D Day Arvalenreeva is worth taking on with selection who put in a decent effort last time out beating Character Testing (and giving weight), with the talented Ben Jones retaining the ride. Ludlow 4.48 WALKIN OUT @ 10/3 (hills) This does not look the strongest of hunter chases and prolific point to point winner Walkin Out put in a decent enough effort last time out against Captain Tommy (well beaten second yesterday), to suggest she can possibly play a part again in this contest today. From tomorrow and the start of the big Aintree festival I will now be breaking my posts into two categories for those who wish to follow my selections to be aware of. There will be MAIN selections which will be highlighted and will be what I feel are the STRONGER bets, and there will be VALUE selections which I will NOT highlight but still feel they are worth advising. This might help anyone who follows or wishes to follow differentiate exactly what bets they would prefer to play of mine, if any. Best of luck with your bets today everyone. * There is a sole French jumps bet posted for anyone who is interested.
  24. Burning the late night oil on the French jumps fayre as you do and after a successful two from two just over 11/1 advised winning double on the last post, we race on Wednesday at Compiegne over the jumps on a seven race card. The only race that really grabs me for a bet is most likely the best race on the card by some way, the Grade 3 Prix Journaliste Chase. This is my advised play for it: Compiegne 12.27 KAMARO D'HUEZ @ 11/4 GAME OF STORM @ 11/4 (both in reverse forecast pays just over 11/1 with Bet365 at time of posting). Bottom line is Game Of Storm can confirm his superiority at the weights over four last time out re-opposing rivals, of which UNCHECKABLE is the biggest and most likely danger. Trumping him may be the classy Kamaro D'Huez, who was very good on both the flat and over hurdles before making a winning chase debut at Compiegne 21 days ago. Kammy is preferred but even if you backed both you would still make profit at current prices albeit a much smaller one than just pinning your hopes on the one (of course providing one of them DOES win). Either way the reverse forecast is also definitely worth a play with the return odds IF successful being a double figure return. * Odds shown are currently with Bet365 and BOG comes into play with them from 8 o'clock in the morning.
  25. Ludlow 4.15 LADY CARO @ 7/2 (hills/bet365) Thank you.
