Couple of advised winners today at 10/11 and 7/4. Was not shocked that unfortunately Lion's Peak found the step up from maiden hurdle company today a bit too tough, so denying us the chance of a treble in the last but hey ho. Bit ironic that the main danger mentioned in the Lion's race Thank You Blue was indeed the winner of it at 9/2. Anybody who covered the post write up probabilities may well have landed themselves a treble there, would love it if someone did. -

Taken an early look at the ITV fayre on Thursday for Aintree and have put up a 50/1 each way shot for anybody who wants to take a look in the ante post selections thread. Will finalise all other selections on the day. -
Taken an early look at the opening day on Thursday of the Aintree Grand National meeting and there is one bet I have got onside early. Fair chance odds will be even bigger at some point but in case there not, this is my one Thursday play at the moment: (Thursday 3 April) (Boodles Anniversary Juvenile Hurdle) Aintree 2.20 AVIEMORE e/w @ 50/1 (betfair/pp) 3 places On paper PUTURHANDSTOGETHER is obviously the one to beat which may well be the case, with also the well regarded Skelton horse LIVE CONTI firmly in the picture too. With the two forecast favourite and second favourite respectively, it could well be a forecast play a lot of people will want to be on and both horses have obvious claims. However, with a couple of bookies going 4 places and most firms at least three places there may be room for one to get in the frame (or even better) at much bigger odds than the two already mentioned. The one that interests me at big odds is Harry Derham's Aviemore who is slowly learning his job over hurdles and might surprise at rather big odds. It's latest smashing of Across Earth (giving weight) does not move mountains, but I find it interesting that it beat the third Lavender Hill Mob by just over 20 lengths. Lavender Hill Mob beat it on it's hurdling debut so this horse could well now be improving, okay it needs to improve a lot to figure in Thursday's race but stranger things have happened. Factor in distance no problem, ground versatile (won on good, good/soft, soft and heavy), handicap mark not too bad and was not the worst flat horse ever when with Charlie Johnston and he may not be too bad an outsider. Do think Puturhandstogether and Live Conti are the main players in this but will be more than happy if we could sneak a third place (or better) out of this fella at 50/1.

Morning all. Just another fun bet for me today as no concrete bets to be had and though there is little value in it this is mine for today: Fakenham 4.20 BUSY BEING BUSY @ 10/11 (bet365/betfred) Significant step up in class for this 5 year old but could be the proverbial "thrown in" at the weights if handling the better company. Kempton 4.30 LIONS PEAK @ 6/4 (generally) Drop in trip a question mark and there are other dangers in the race among them being Thank You Blue so price not good to me. Kempton 5.05 VIROFLAY @ 7/4 (hills) CAPTAIN TOMMY @ 9/4 (bet365/skybet) IF the bet is lucky enough to get this far then both horses should be covered in the Kempton finale to land a treble at either just over 11/1 or 14/1. Again, not a great day for a bet on the jumps, Best of luck with your bets today all. -
Kempton 5.05 CAPTAIN TOMMY @ 9/4 (bet365/skybet) Thank you.

Back from a bit of shopping and caught up on recordings of today's runners races. All beaten fair and square, but think Willie Shake Hands should have scored going down narrowly in a nose job (lol). As said in original post though they were not highlighted for a reason, that reason is it is essential if playing serious bets that the horse will get every yard of the trip they will race over. -

Well done azzybear. Off To A Flyer certainly proved it's fitness and some. -

Morning all. A good day yesterday with three advised winners (one in UK and two in France) at 11/2, 7/2 and 15/8 and so to today. Would emphasise that my selections today I am NOT HIGHLIGHTING as it is an "INTEREST" in the day bet only and none of the bets are strong. All the selections today need to prove their stamina to the yard so none of them are guaranteed to stay their respective trips. I will however put the bet up today in case anyone wants to take a chance with a small tinkle on it for fun. These are my interest plays today: Wincanton 2.15 JACK THE SAVAGE e/w @ 13/2 (unibet) 2 places Decent effort latest at Huntingdon when giving weight to Tramuntana over a shorter trip. Well weighted, and maybe a bit further will be a help rather than a hinderance? Off To A Flyer has been off the track for a good while so has fitness to prove. Newcastle 4.00 CONISTON GEORGE @ 7/4 (generally) Really like the jockey Danny Mack and won well latest at Carlisle so a follow up is definitely not out of the question. Stylish Recruit is also well handicapped but has pulled up last twice so definite fitness doubts there to possibly answer. Newcastle 5.00 WILLIE SHAKE HANDS @ 11/4 (bet365, hills, unibet) Must have a squeak IF repeating latest effort at Newcastle, in all fairness race is not overly strong so current price at time of posting is probably fair enough. Best of luck with your bets today all. -

Classy effort from Court In The Act in the last and kept on well to beat Cian who I think may be a tricky horse to get right on the day. Still, a good day with three winners in all and a nice double across the water to boot. -

What on earth was up with Northern Poet today, wish he'd told me in the pub last night he didn't fancy the job today. LOL. Pity, had an acca going well so would not be surprised now if Court Cian makes it 3 from 4 in the last. We will see. -

Yeah on both of them myself Lee so fingers firmly crossed at the moment. Just nice to be putting up winners again though, it's a big month on the jumps side in April with three different Grand Nationals so need to start banging in some winners again for confidence. -

TWO FROM TWO in France with GOLIATH DU RHEU (single advised also @ 7/2, won 15/8) landing a just over advised 11/1 double for anyone who followed. If you did well done and ENJOY THOSE WINNINGS. It's been a while but they won't keep my horses out of the winner's enclosure permanently. -

Advised 11/2 winner with A MERE BAGATELLE, bit frustrated that BENVOY who was my first choice at Ascot decided today the faster ground would not be a problem for it for the first time. Hey ho. -

First part of French double in over at Auteuil with NEW PRESIDENT (advised 7/4). Fingers crossed now for GOLIATH DU RHEU (4.00) to try and land the double. -

An additional play for me today as I note the ground at Downpatrick is getting on the quicker side of good every passing minute: Downpatrick 2.55 CIAO ADIOS e/w @ 9/1 (skybet) 4 places (rev. f/cst with A Mere Bagatelle pays just over 61/1 and 58/1 respectively with Bet365) Happy to stick with selection posted earlier, but there is a decent chance this mare will also get the extra bit of stamina required in this race and won't be hindered by the quickening ground. Must be covered so no regrets after the race whether she stays or not. -

Morning all. Only one horse each way placed on the flat yesterday so it's back to the jumps for me today to try and get a winner with the mortgage payment due on Tuesday (lol). These will be my plays for today: Ascot 2.45 STAR OF GUITING e/w @ 7/1 (888 sport) 3 places Opened at 12/1 and the money has come fairly heavily since probably as the horse should not be inconvenienced by the probable quick ground it will get today at the course. Did look at BENVOY first but his good ground form so far leaves a bit to be desired, but possibly dangerous to totally discount. Downpatrick 2.55 A MERE BAGATELLE e/w @ 11/2 (skybet) 4 places Very interesting 8 year old for Shark Hanlon who ran a cracker on return to action over a longer trip at Limerick last time out. His son keeps the ride and though this race is a much shorter distance test I still think the horse should run well with ground conditions likely to suit. Ascot 4.30 NORTHERN POET @ 5/2 (generally) Another one down in trip on his last victory and up in class to boot but I think this fella could be up to this tougher test, Credo is the obvious one they all have to beat. Ascot 5.05 COURT CIAN @ 5/2 (bet365/hills) Put in a right stinker at Market Rasen on his penultimate run but back to form latest, and I really do like the 7lb claimer who takes the ride again after winning on it last time out. The trip is a question mark but decent mark for the race and ground shoudl also be in his favour so rates a player for me. Best of luck with your bets today all. * Also put up two jumps selections in France if anyone wants to take a butcher's. -
Hello all. Just two advised bets for me on the Auteuil card today with prices short but hoping for good runs from both. If anyone is interested in the bets remember that Bet365 will be BOG from 8 o'clock in the morning if you feel it is worth waiting: (Sunday 30 March) Auteuil 2.15 NEW PRESIDENT @ 7/4 An obvious contender at price which is ridiculously short given 16 runners set to contest the handicap hurdle. Lady Coeur is on a fair mark but will probably struggle if ground is any worse than soft. Auteuil 4.00 GOLIATH DU RHEU @ 7/2 Beaten last time raced over fences but won well over the smaller obstacles latest, very interesting if in same vein of form now back over fences. The double pays just over 11/1 with Bet365 at time of posting and would also recommend a win single on Goliath Du Rheu.

Morning all. A more encouraging end to last night with advised 11/2 flat winner KAT'S BOB and an each way placed of the same price (3rd). Almost fed up of saying it as so often now but the jumps is pants today, so in search of a bit of value the turf flat in UK and Ireland along with some synthetic stuff will have to be the play for me today. These are my selections for today with possibly an addition or two for Newcastle later this evening: (Spring Mile) Doncaster 1.50 PRESSURE'S ON e/w @ 13/2 (pp/betfair) 6 places Think this is well handicapped and my only concern for stopping a big run would be it simply not getting the trip, if it does I expect it to be bang there. Doncaster 1.50 ROGUE ENCORE e/w @ 28/1 (bet365) 6 places Wanted something else in the Spring Mile with a bit more juice to it's price. This one may be best over a mile and has gone well after a break, the ground is a big question mark but will chance it at a biggish price. (William Hill Lincoln) * already advised (see ante post selections). Doncaster 3.35 DASHING DARCEY e/w @ 50/1 (hills) 6 places Outlined my thinking on this one in ante post selection thread on Thursday, and encouraging to see it now best price of 25/1 with most firms. Means nothing but looks like there has been at least some each way money for it and win or lose anyone who went in early (as me), is at the very least holding a fairly good value slip at the moment. Kempton 2.40 ANDALEEP e/w @ 25/1 (bet365) 4 places Went in on this one at a slightly bigger price than it is now early yesterday. Have always rated Sly De Sousa as a jockey, and though a 9 year old with it all on his plate his narrow defeat to The Glen Rovers over CD in early November (when giving loads of weight) really caught my eye. Do think it is on a fair enough mark but am concerned a lot about it's 93 day break when last beaten fairly narrowly by Kings Code (again giving weight). His record off that length a break is not good but hoping Sly can work some magic on it for me tomorrow (covered each way). Kempton 5.35 AIMING HIGH e/w @ 17/2 (hills) 3 places Up in class, but a course and distance winner who is on a decent enough mark to be of interest with Hayley Turner retaining the ride. Curragh 2.15 MAGICAL VISION e/w @ 9/1 (bet365) 4 places Very interesting this one who has won and gone well after a break before but not from 342 days off the course! Still, if by chance it is cherry ripe tomorrow I would expect it to go very close with the excellent Chris Hayes back on board from it's last run at the Curragh. Bit more rain due at course tomorrow which is a positive for this one especially if it shakes off the cobwebs. Curragh 5.10 GOLDRUSH KID e/w @ 15/2 (bet365) 4 places Hoping it's a good day for Chris Hayes who rides this one as well, who got his act together on his latest start at this course 13 days ago. Hopefully he can follow up from what to me still looks an attractive handicap mark and ground should not be a problem either as long as any rain that comes is not too excessive. Will update if any of these horses go bigger in price to keep anyone who does wish to follow them abreast of the best price on offer for that selection. If anything really appeals to me later on at Newcastle will post up again separately. Enjoy the start of the turf everyone and best of luck with your bets. -
Southwell 7.45 FIFTY SENT @ 11/2 (generally) Thank you.

Just came back from being out. Apologies to T.E., once again the jumps was pants for me today and I seem to have lost my touch on the horses for the time being. Would probably urge anyone still following me on the forum to wait until my iron gets back hot or hottish again as don't want to waste anyone's money. Ultimately though will leave it up to you chaps if you want to back my selections or not as can change at any time. So, two for tonight at Southwell (LOL.): Southwell 7.45 FIFTY SENT e/w @ 11/2 (bet365) 4 places Southwell 8.15 KATS BOB e/w @ 11/2 (hills) 3 places Summary: 7.45 Hope drop in trip will be plus rather than negative for this one tonight. 8.15 Seven year old warrior with claimer on board going for the three timer. Punt on my friends, punt on. -

Zestful Hope already drifted out to 10/1 with Ladbrokes, ominous early signs already for one of my selections today. Hey ho. Funny thing happened last night too. Just on quick analysis hit a 15/2 winner (another one not put up on forum) on the synthetic action when having a quick tinkle at Chelmsford. Got me thinking that maybe it best sometimes to just put up selections whenever one catches my eye, might work out better for all on the odd occasion.
