SERIOUS CHALLENGE bangs in at an advised 13/2 for the third winner of the day. Must admit it was only ground I was worried about but knew if it handled it ok today would be the best bet by a mile. If you followed, again ENJOY you know what. 😃😃 -

Running on 3rd each way at 18/1 to start the day in France. Left challenge a bit too late but profit secured at a nice each way price, returned at 22/1. Not the worse start to day (probably get worse from there). -

Morning all. A second and a poor run from the old boy Les's Legacy yesterday so no luck, and on we go today to a decent enough looking meeting (especially for start of week) at Southwell. Ground described as GOOD, and hopefully that will remain the case as forecast today is overcast but no rain set to hit the course as yet. These are my bets for there today, I have HIGHLIGHTED what I think might be the best plays: Southwell 2.40 PEP TALKING @ 10/3 (betfred) Southwell 2.40 KING OF THE HILL @ 15/2 (betfred) (play both in small rev. f/cst) Southwell 3.15 SERIOUS CHALLENGE e/w @ 13/2 (hills) 2 places (keep stake very small, serious ground concerns and has drifted a lot in the market from opening price) Southwell 3.50 AAZZA @ 4/1 (hills/betfred) Southwell 3.50 PIPERS CROSS e/w @ 13/2 (hills) 3 places (play both in rev. f/cst) Southwell 4.25 BALLELA BLAZE e/w @ 8/1 (hills) 3 places Best of luck today everyone. * Forgot to say there are some French jumps selections posted for anyone who is interested, 15/2 advised winner and 16/1 each way placed in last French jumps review. -
Bonjour all. An advised 15/2 winner and a 16/1 each way placed (5th) in the last French jumps review, and so on to today and Auteuil. The ground on the ATR website today at the course is described as SOFT, so the first race which is a big Listed handicap hurdle may tell us more as to just how accurate that ground description is. Even if that is spot on there is still a chance the ground will cut up a bit for the later races and ride a bit softer, so I will monitor as the card moves on. These are mine at the moment, with a chance of one or two ADDITIONS later on depending on how the ground conditions go: Auteuil 12.55 NECTARIS e/w @ 10/1 (b365) 5 places Auteuil 12.55 LUCKY ROQUE e/w @ 18/1 (coral/ladbrokes) 4 places (rev.f/cst with Nectaris) Auteuil 1.30 L'ESPOIR @ 4/1 (b365 / price boost) Auteuil 2.40 LEGOLAS TEK e/w @ 8/1 (b365) 3 places

A very good morning to all. A couple of selections from me today but as do not think they are overly strong have not highlighted them to indicate that, hope either or both will run with credit though: Hexham 3.48 HALFWAY HOUSE LAD @ 10/3 (hills) Likely to get a prominent or front running ride from claimer Charlie Price, in good form going for hat trick but definitely more on his plate today. Will not want too much rain to get into ground today with some heavy intermittent showers forecast for the track during the day. Hexham 4.18 LES'S LEGACY @ 4/1 (generally) An 8 year old now in good heart judged solely on his latest win over course and distance but far from certain to back that win up with another today. Claimer Ben Smith takes 7lb off his well to burden weight, but as the above horse needs more today to score again. Do have my eye on one at Tramore, and depending on how ground goes may post it later if I feel it may handle the forecast ground. Best of luck with your bets today all. -

Sometimes your horse on the flat just does not get the best of luck in running, obviously support for it if ended up 10/1. Don't worry, sure enough the winners will come. I honestly think a lot of the time doing bets from outside the UK is the way to go, as there are days when on the flat and especially over the jumps in the UK when the racing is just awful. -
Musselburgh 5.15 IT'S A LOVE THING @ 12/1 Thank you.

Good afternoon T.E. my friend. Thank you, kind words as ever. Got me thinking to be honest, will still look for the good price value bets (well to me anyway) but maybe should make my MAIN bets at much lower odds. Winners are winners whatever and successful trixie bets do add up very nicely. As no jumps value will put my NAP up from Musselburgh today (forced hand really) but at moment monitoring price as a general 12/1 and would like it a bit bigger before posting it up on the naps thread. -

Hat's off Emilia. I think it's great to see people on the forum going to where they fancy for their bets. Quite often bookies are not so shrewd on racing abroad with their prices as compared to the markets that they normally have a much better grip on. Good luck with that South African bet, hope it rewards you and any other members of the forum that may follow you. Very tasty price 25/1. -
Morning all. No joy for me yesterday and nothing strong enough to recommend today unfortunately on the UK jumps, but my day has already been made from the early hours of this morning thanks to Darran and his Australian Jumps season thread. Due to circumstances I was up until early hours this morning and saw that was an Australian jumps meeting at Pakenham thanks to the thread. For fun posted a little trixie play bet and low and behold went three from three with advised winners NOONDAY GUN (18/5), THE CUNNING FOX (13/5, nap) and DUKE OF BEDFORD (17/10). Thanks to BOG that Bet365 also seem to operate on the Australian racing had a tidy little return, was just gutted that I know none of you would have had a chance to play as obviously very early this morning. Did show me once again though how sometimes you don't need big or biggish prices to make some nice noodle. Hopefully be able to post one or two bets for you tomorrow. Best of luck everyone whatever you play today.

Fantastic analysis Darran, you have inspired me to do a small bet at Pakenham. should be fun with to watch with these: Pakenham (race 2 ) NOONDAY GUN @ 18/5 ✅ 1st Pakenham (race 3) THE CUNNING FOX @ 13/5 (nap) ✅ 1st Pakenham (race 4) DUKE OF BEDFORD @ 17/10 ✅ 1st Mine is only for fun, so best of luck with yours my friend. 😀😀 Wow, did not see that coming but many thanks Darran for alerting me to this Australian jumps meeting. HAPPY DAYS 👍👍

Tough day to find winners and two seconds a poor return, only one for me tonight. And this is it: Brighton 6.00 FORMAL ADDRESS e/w @ 14/1 (b365) 3 places Denied a clear run in last effort at Lingfield but still only finished a length behind winner when also conceding weight, interesting one if handling the fast turf tonight at Brighton though that is obviously a huge question mark. -
Newbury 3.12 GREAT ACCLAIM @ 25/1 Thank you.

Morning all. No joy yesterday, here are my jump selections today with what I think are the stronger bets in this highlighted text: Ayr 1.43 EYED @ 6/1 (coral/ladbrokes) Ayr 2.15 WELSH CHARGER e/w @ 22/1 (coral/ladbrokes) 3 places Ayr 2.55 RIALANNAH e/w @ 9/1 (generally) 3 places Ayr 3.35 BRANDT e/w @ 14/1 (generally) 6 places Ayr 3.35 MAGNA SAM e/w @ 28/1 (ladbrokes) 5 places More selections for the flat will follow. -

Morning all. Back in the winners enclosure again yesterday with advised winners MERCURY MISSION (9/4) and KIRAKINE (15/2), along with a 16/1 each way placed with Kelonia (5th), Only a few races from Ayr hold my interest today, these will be my plays with what I feel the stronger bet highlighted in this text: Ayr 1.30 INAPPROPIATE @ 8/1 (bet365) Ayr 1.30 KINGSTON JAMES @ 6/1 (bet365) (cover rev. f/cst with Inappropiate) Ayr 2.40 IMPERIAL MERLIN e/w @ 12/1 (ladbrokes) 4 places Ayr 3.15 NED TANNER e/w @ 7/1 (hills) 3 places Best of luck today, anyone having a punt.

RACING CHAT Thursday 10 April

Just came in from being out today and not a bad at all. Lovely 9/4 advised UK winner with MECURY MISSION (other UK selection outfought into 2nd), and the good French jumps run of late kept going very nicely with facile 15/2 advised winner KIRAKINE who returned BOG at an even more sexy 9/1. And those who backed Kelonia in the first (like myself) AS ADVISED EACH WAY at 16/1 were also not left empty handed as it grabbed the 5th each way place (returned 10/1). A good day for those who followed and if you did... ENJOY YOUR WINNINGS. -
Bonjour. We have had a great time on the French jumps lately with lots of winners including 8/1 and 6/1 scorers in the last review. I would however ADVISE very SMALL STAKES if following today's picks from Auteuil who fall right into the (otb / not strong) bets category and are more for an INTEREST play today only. Auteuil 12.55 KELONIA (otb) e/w @ 16/1 (bet365) 5 places Won well latest over fences but now back to hurdles and was well beaten when last attempting the smaller obstacles. Given a speculative squeak as hails from good yard and seems in good heart judged on his latest effort over today's trip albeit on the chasing front. Auteuil 3.15 KIRAKINE (otb) e/w @ 15/2 (bet365) 2 places Get's a huge weight pull with Lebrio Des Mottes on latest defeat so remains to be seen whether that will count for something over today's longer trip. Probably not but we will see.
-
Morning all. No joy yesterday with jump selection that simply did not stay the trip and with connections trying 3 miles for the first time they will do well to drop the horse back down in trip again. We did however scrape an advised 4/1 flat winner in yesterday with ANTIQUITY on the flat, so the day did yield a profit and on to today. These are my two plays for me today over the sticks in two very tricky races from here and Ireland: Limerick 3.27 MERCURY MISSION @ 9/4 (generally) Very tricky contest this one with The Dancing Tree and Nowwhatdoyouthink also holding strong claims. The Dancing Tree went very close latest and is feared but not sure ground will quite as testing as it would like today and do think selection may be only slightly better handicapped than the even more feared Nowwhatdoyouthink. Newton Abbot 3.55 MUSIQUE DE FEE @ 5/2 (generally) Again dangers with Coconut Twist and Lightonthewing threats to the selection who has been in cracking form of late. Coconut Twist has the little bit of extra stamina to prove today and Lightonthewing was very poor latest over fences latest so both need a bit extra today. Would play two singles for profit if either wins, and a double for around a 10/1 return if both are lucky enough to win. * Have added two (otb / not strong) selections from Auteuil in France if anybody wants to take a look.
