A few interesting facts about tonight's tourney :
i) There were 12 players and it lasted 2 hours and 6 minutes, although the HU was prolonged when Barry rivered quad aces 
ii) If you sit out from the very beginning, with this structure it takes just 43 minutes to blind out - although you *were* six-handed for most of it Helen.
iii) We had two delayed reggers, one after 20 minutes, the other after 45 minutes (and four had already busted out)
iv) Both delayed reggers made the top three, the cash and the big points... maybe that's just a coincidence ?

My reasoning is that this is only for the duration of the extra added value, so is only short term. The extra money allowed me to put a good increase into the league leaving a little left over for this.  I don't intend to withdraw money from our standard £150 added to continue it. 
I just did it with me as bounty, and that I couldn't win my own, because as PL admin I was giving something back to the members, especially as I'd managed to place in the league a few times recently. I didn't want to force it onto to someone else, (eg. last week's winner) as it does potentiallty change the dynamics of your game, and it wouldn't be fair to affect people's chances of winning the league prizes either one way or another. (It doesn't change my game, other than trying not to give it to Dan again!)   Also the potential problem of the bounty not playing the following week. 
No-one was more surprised than me that I did technically win my bounty one week, but in my position I would have been very uncomfortable taking the money, especially as I wasn't giving anyone else the chance to be bounty!
 

Pokerstars have cancelled late reg for the home games. If you want to play on Wednesday then please register early.

It's taken me a few days to compose my thoughts on this matter.
I don't know Paul as well as a lot of you but over the years I have spent some time with him and found him to be the kindest of people.  I think I first met him in very odd circumstances where he managed to blag PL some seats at a mini poker tournament in the middle of Leicester Square with the world boxing champion - Evander Holyfield of all people - you couldn't really make it up if you tried!  Over the years I met Paul at many of the PL poker meet ups and got to know him much better - I guess as keen boozers we were destined to be drawn to the same fun pursuits!  I think i got on well with Paul as we both shared the view of having a good time and not taking poker too seriously in these events - it was all about the banter and shots!  This was to be a theme as I met up with Paul a few years later in Vegas where we spent some days enjoying all that Vegas could offer - beer pong, one armed ladies, 6ft long tequila slushies, $1k a hand blackjack and free flowing booze  - what was not to like!  This trip will always have very fond memories for me and i was very pleased to be able to spend some time with him at Birmingham recently at the PL meetup reminiscing about those times - him and Kayla i think were quite shocked that i had such a vivid memory and that i still had photograpghic evidence!
Paul will be missed by all that knew him.  He was a top bloke.  He was the sort of guy that you don't see for a whole year but then you meet up and pick up as if you just saw him yesterday.  Paul was a guy that loved to help people.  He helped me on several occasions when there was nothing he was getting in return other than a thanks.  I don't know a great deal about his business affairs but i do know that what he created with PL poker group was unique and will serve as his legacy.  We have a lot to thank him for.

I've known Paul since discovering poker and joining PL in 2006 and met him first on the infamous PL race day in York/Leeds.  I sort of fell in to the role of Poker queen but many people have contributed to the success of PL Poker over the years and Paul has always supported this side of the forum, especially in recent years with PL funds in the monthly league.
The Poker crew were very fortunate to be able to have our live event this February and have the opportunity to get together and see each other.  I know Paul would have loved to have had a race day this year too. 
He lived life to the max, and didn't give in to the cancer.  He loved Punters Lounge and the best way to honour that legacy is to continue to support and love the place too.

Well done to Bart who won the leg , but combined with other results on the night just fell short of making the podium.
All of our podium winners have put in super consistent performances over the month and are well deserved winners of the added value. Only one leg winner in there, the rest of us weekly winners falling short with our other weekly efforts.
So many congratulations to our league winner Pots11 (rathbone) with an awesome 1st, 2nd and 3rd in weekly results  ? ?
Second place goes to our regular John Anthony (SciTopus) with two 2nds and a 4th position ?
And in Third is Rhino_Power with 3 final table finishes, and no football to play!  ?
Special mention to Danshot who also had 3 FTs, along with 2 bounties. and thebestthere (Pamela1) with 1 bounty.
We have £20 added value to play for next week in our Fun week while we wait for May to appear. Details to follow.

Well what an amazing turnout!  Feels like the glory days of online poker a few years ago.  If I had known a £10 bounty on my head would make such a difference I'd have done it months ago.
Very well done to pots11 on the win. I think I saw you pretty short stacked early on too.
It was Dan who took my bounty. (Will be paid out at the end of the month with the league payments). 
Hope you all enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again next week and sitting on a different table.

So for April we are delighted to tell you that we are DOUBLING  our normal monthly added value to £300 for our poker league.
The league runs for 4 legs on Wednesday nights, starting time is 8.10pm, with a 10 minute late registration period on top of this.  All games are played in the PokerStars Home Games PL Poker Club.  We have a PLO leg in week 3 with the other 3 legs NLHE.

To help boost numbers overall and in particular in the final leg we are continuing the system of doubling the number of entries used in the calculation in leg 4 ( * so if 12 entries the formula will use 24 entrants). This will increase the number of points available in the final leg to make it more competitive.
All members are welcome, however you must post in this thread if asked to let us know your forum username, otherwise your placings and scores cannot be included in the league.  Please spread the word and invite your friends so we can get the weekly numbers to keep this league viable.  New players always welcome to join in.

Seemed like this was going to be a really quick game, then the HU lasted about as long as the rest of it! Pretty level most of the time, then swung one way and back the other. I don't feel like I win HU very often so very happy to take one down.
Next game is set up and registering. If you missed out on the first leg remember we only count 3 scores from 4 over the month, so you are still in time to get a full set. I'll have to miss leg 2 myself as out on a chocolate tasting evening (marginally wins against poker ).

If anyone would be out of pocket due to hotel cancellations, we should stick with the original date and forego our place in the APAT comp.

Ok, I've been holding this info back for a while and this PL Poker Championships has been hastily arranged because of it. I held this info back because I didn't want it to appear to be attention seeking, but here it is...
I got diagnosed with advanced Cancer a while back which is now terminal and nobody knows how many more of these I'll see. However, knowing the stubborn twat I am, I'll still be around in 10+ years annoying everyone going all in with 26o!  
I'd REALLY LOVE it if everyone turned up and left APAT until 2021. I don't look ill and strangely don't feel ill and I know this will be shocking news to a number of people who have known me years, but I'm every bit the same sarcastic twat you've all met previously and in great form!  

Let's make this one to remember, no morbid stuff, just poker, alcohol, shits and giggles.  

These were my thoughts precisely when I read Tom's message. There's every chance that there may be a restriction on the number of teams, and with it being rushed, registration and buying-in could end up being a bun fight. I have the cancellation clause for the Travelodge anyway but if there are enough willing souls I'd much rather stick to Plan A and do the PL tourney 

Poor planning from APAT. Anyway, we haven't had a Punters Lounge Poker Championships for a while and they are always more fun than any other tourney.  

You played really well, I felt a big underdog in the game! If you don't get to the play the last 2 legs enjoy the Xmas break & battle again in the new year! 

I've just received a message from Wayne to the effect that his sources state that the APAT TE is definitely not at VGC and the date for it is still undecided, so there's no clash with the PL weekend. Phew !
