I'm with you on this. His Augusta form reads 39-22-17-12, has improved each year. If he can just go one place better then Sky's 11 places will pay a small profit.

Reasoning: There are some really good tipsters out there. They know the sport inside out and they have time on their hands to do the research.
Method: If I follow 10+ tipsters, who would most likely tip 4-5 selections, I'd probably end up with 30+ different picks. Based on the previews, and available value, I will narrow this down and choose 3 or 4 bets.
Aim: First and foremost, to make a profit! Also I hope to become more disciplined when placing my own bets. My staking can be up and down, and I tend to throw money at silly longshots. So hopefully this thread will encourage me to keep things sensible. And in time maybe I will learn more about the sport, the different courses and the players, making bets with my own knowledge.
I fully expect a slow start. I'll start the bank at 0 points. If it gets to -100 I'll knock it on the head! I don't suppose I will bet more than 10 points a week.

True. And the bigger prices tend to be way off what is actually on offer. They keep the losses quiet until they hit a 150/1 winner and that was really only available at 66/1!

I hear what you're saying mate. And to a certain extent, I do agree. I can't claim to be very knowledgeable on the sport, but I do like to watch it and do like a bet! I've been following several other tipsters for a while, including yourself, and I like to put it all together and find some common denominators. Wouldn't be fair to pass it off as my own research though. This method has also proved quite fruitful in the past, just not so much recently! Maybe I will do a separate thread and keep a running total of profit/loss, just for my own records more than anything.

I've narrowed it down to my top 5:
    Rahm, Hatton, Reed, Schauffele, Fleetwood.
Not that adventurous price wise, so I've done them as dual forecast with Skybet. Ranging from 100/1 Rahm/Schauffele to 600/1 Fleetwood/Hatton, 0.5pt on each.
And my outright longshot is Mickelson 0.5 ew @ 100/1 bet365
Done a couple of 1st round leaders who will be playing on their birthday! Not the most scientific approach ?
Byeong Hun An 0.5pt ew @ 100/1 7 places PP
    Viktor Hovland 0.5pt ew @ 55/1 6 places sky
    Good luck if you're playing.

I thought I'd get this up early. There are so many previews out there already I can see a lot of the picks getting backed and the value disappearing. My main bets are on, but will no doubt have a few more before Thursday.
I'm sure Fader will be here with another quality write up, but for now these are my picks:
    Patrick Reed 2.5pt ew @ 33/1 skybet
Patrick Reed 1st rd leader and outright 1pt @ 125/1
    Tommy Fleetwood 2pt ew @ 35/1 hills
Sky are slightly shorter prices, but paying a very generous 11 places. Went with Hills for Fleetwood as he was an extra 10 points but paying 9 places.

Very close at the top with only 3 shots separating the top 17. So I've decided to have a little flutter on 2 players that have improved on each round. Grillo has hit 69, 68 & 65 and is 2 off the leader. Streelman has hit 72, 66 & 65 and is 3 shots off.
    Grillo 1pt ew @ 12/1
    Streelman 1pt ew @ 30/1
    1/4 odds 4 places PP

I've looked at this a lot and just couldn't find anything that takes my fancy.
The only bet I've done is a Skybet special:
    Mickelson/Varner/Garcia all to finish top 10 2pts @ 40/1.
But seeing as Fader has picked Varner I'll have a 1pt ew @ 28/1 pp

Well this one appears to be wide open. Not counting Fleetwood 11/2 and Coetzee 16/1, they're no value for me.
After reading many previews and predictions, with 20+ different selections, I've narrowed it down to 4 bets.
    Brandon Stone 2.5pts e/w @ 40/1 7 places PP
    Wil Besseling 2pts e/w @ 60/1 5 places B365
    Sebastian Soderberg 1pt ew @ 66/1 PP
Brandon Stone 1st Round Leader 1pt ew @ 60/1 Skybet

Quite unbelievable really. I had Campillo 1st round leader, and he got to -3 but dropped a shot and finished the first day T1 with 3 others. Was still T1 half way through round 2 and then proceeded to drop 7 shots in 7 holes! He never recovered after that.
I think the winning score was +2!
    Shocking.

    I'm adding 3 more selections.
    Tony Finau 3pts ew @ 33/1 and 1st round leader 1pt ew @ 35/1
    Russell Henley 1pt ew @ 60/1
    Cameron Champ 1pt ew @ 70/1
