Sportingbet/Paradise Poker

I'm having some trouble with them; I'll expand on what the trouble is later. I have some questions for those of you who play there that will help me decide whether they are being awkward with me only or whether they just have rank bad customer service. 1. If you've dealt with their customer services, have you found them to be responsive and helpful? 2. If you have a Sportingbet dollar account, have you found the exchange rates to be crap? Thank you.

Re: Sportingbet/Paradise Poker I have used sportingbet as a sportsbook and played poker on PP before.. but I can only give you input on sportingbet's CS. I have only interacted with their CS representative once but it was a pleasant encounter. I was having problems placing bets using my laptop, but it was fine if i used my desktop. The CS rep brought me through a variety of troubleshooting steps (spending at least 30 minutes), and even after he found out that I could place bets on one computer but not the other, he still continued to help me, even though he could have told me "sorry that's all I can help you with, the problem lies with your PC" etc (since I'd already managed to stake my money with them anyway). So I was pretty satisfied with their customer service, though this was only one encounter and I could have been lucky enough to get a helpful person. So what happened? My first guess would be some money issues..

Re: Sportingbet/Paradise Poker Never had any problems with Paradise/sportingbet, indeed have found them one of the best with regards to any issues I have had. $$'s to ££'s is a problem everywere but my paradise account is ££'s so I have no problems there. If your accounts in $$'s and dealing with a ££'s bank account or neteller account you get screwed but I dont think it's the poker site doing it. If web dollar are involved you get screwed twice for your time and effort. I've had shocking experiences with 4 sites cs depts this year and it really is a bigger issue than the sites realise (nearly as bad as BT's overseas call centres) As an added value bonus whore I'm begining to think the sites really dont love me anymore.

You're right mate. My beef with Sportingbet is that when I withdrew some dollars from my account they converted them to sterling at a rate of $1.837 to the £, which I thought was taking the p1ss. Despite taking this up with them on the telephone and by email they do not respond. TBH the number of £s I've lost through this is of little consequence but it's the principle that gets right up my nostrels. :wall
