3.15 Ascot Art Connoisseur does not score highly in the consistency stakes but Michael Bell's colt is a genuine pattern horse on his day and has the best form in the book of these runners cnotesting the Diadem. At two he looked a colt of immeasurable promise, landing The Group 2 Coventry Stakes over this course and distance to complete a hat-trick on his first three runs and he also placed in Group 1 company at the Curragh (behind Mastercraftsman) in his first year of racing. He made his reappearance in a listed race at Newmarket when denied a run, but he used that as a prep run for the Golden Jubilee Stakes in June - again won over course and distance - to confirm he is a sprinter of the highest calibre. I can excuse his run in the July Cup at Newmarket as it paid to race prominently whilst he was held up, and similarly, in the Nunthorpe, the way the race panned out counted against him. He can have no excuses for a no show in the Sprint Cup at Haydock, latest, but perhaps the new found tactics were not to his liking as he raced more prominently than usual under Hayley Turner. With the prospect of Tamagin and/or Beckermet setting the pace here, he could return to the rear of the field and that could see him improve as he evidently goes well at this track. It is a race that the classic generation have done well in the past few decades with the likes of Haatef (2007), Red Clubs (2006), Bianconi (1998) and Elnadim (1997) all landing the prize, and although he shoulders a 6 lb penalty as a consquence of his Group 1 win he has the ability to win a race at this level if in the right mood. 11/1 Ladbrokes, each-way.

Re: Ascot - Sun 27th Sept 14.05 123racing Launches In Usa Handicap (Class 2) 1m 4f Night Crescendo is attempting to go back to back wins in this event, but age looks up against him this time around as no horse over the last ten renewals have won over the age of 5. This would illiminate the likes of the above, Misty Dancer, Body Gold and Dansili Dancer. Over the last 10 renewals we have seen 3yr olds : 4 4yr olds : 3 5yr olds : 3 No three year old has won this since 2004 when Mark Johnston's Fort sprung a 16/1 shock win, there has only been one winning favorite in the last 10 renewals of this race. Mark Johnston has won this three times back in 2000 with Kind Regards 2002 with Scotts View and lastly back in 2004 with Fort. Only one top weight has won this which was back in 1999 when Luca Cumani's Vicious Cirlce won and this would discount Unleashed chance's. This should narrow the field down and over the last four years four year olds have one three from the last four renewals.and this brings a strong hand for Willie Haggas's STORYLAND. Her only run here over CD was when finishing sixth in a similar event back in July under today's pilot. she was staying on well and could not reach the leaders and eventually went down by 3L. She had Record Breaker in front of her that day by a head when in receipt of 10lb, she only gets 5lb today from her adversary and might need extra to reverse that form, but her run eight days ago when just being denied by a neck over 12f at Newmarket and is only up 2lb for that run. Record Breaker deserves to be on the premesis again with the stats in his favour as the trainer Mark Johnston has a good record in this, and if the selection can be close enough she can be in the mix here. STORYLAND : 2pt Win @ 7.2 Betfair 14.40 Grosvenor Casinos Cumberland Lodge Stakes(Group 3)1m 4f There has been only one winner above the age of 5 in the last nine renewals of this event which was Marcus Tregoning's Mubtaker back in 2005. Favorites have a fantastic record in this race winning six from the last nine runnings and Marcus Tregoning has won this four times with Nayef back in 2001, then High Accolade went back to back in 2003-4 and lastly Mubtaker back in 2005 and is represented here with Ajhar and Muwatheeq. Richard Hills has won this twice which was once with the late Alec Stewart and one for Marcus Tregoning and he teams up with Tregoning again on Muwatheeq. The selection ripped his field apart over 8f at this meeting last year and was very impressive to win by 6L. two runs this year and did not shine when finishing way back at Newbury on soft ground, but Richard has no doubt been impressed since he rode him to win at Doncaster when beating Eastern Aria by just over 1L going away and i feel there will be no douts him getting the 12f today. MUWATHEEQ : 4pt Win @ 4.6 Betfair 15.15 John Guest Diadem Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1) 6f Again significantly there has not been a winner of this race in the last 10 renewals above the age of 5 and this would see Asset, Beckermet,Knot In Wood, Mariol and Tamagin excluded. 4 year olds have dominated this race over the last 10 years winning 6 from the last 10 runnings and this would bring in the likes of.. Dream Eater High Standing Palace Moon Mullein There has only been two winning favorites of this event in the last 10 years and the average price of the winner has been around 10/1. This could bring in Hue Morrison's PALACE MOON. he showed good battling qualities at Newmarket to win a Listed event back in August holding on from Swiss Diva and recent Ayr Gold Cup winner Jimmy Styles. He gets in here in to Group company off the same mark of 107. High Standing is also worth a mention as had a fantastic season for Willie Haggas and Ryan Moore returns to the saddle and the former champion has ridden him to all four wins this year. PALACE MOON : 2pt Win @ 6.8 Betfair

Re: Ascot - Sun 27th Sept 2.05 Ascot Interesting handicap full of exposed horses and I have narrowed the field down to 3. Chiberta king last won off 73 and has since gone up rapidly in handicap mark to 90 today although this looks ok for an improving horse has finished 2nd last 2 times out and should find this step back in trip from last race much more to his liking, also buick back on board and he appears to get the best out of this horse for the balding team. Dansili dancer should find this race much easier than ones he has been racing in lately and after a few poor efforts has dropped to a mark just 1lb higher than last winning mark back in may. Hard to assess body gold, hasn’t been seen on the track since 2007 and argentina form hard to assess but looks a consistent sort and worth keeping on your side till he gets some form lines in this country. 1pt win chiberta king 4/1 sj 0.25pt e/w dansili dancer 12/1 corals 0.1pt e/w body gold 33/1 bet365 2.40 Ascot Masterofthehorse interests me although out of shapes when last seen for new yard but had previously finished a brilliant 3rd in the derby and 4th in the irish derby and a reproduction of those efforts would see him go extremely well here, also to see Fallon picking up the ride and also the stable is the only one in here with the possibility of a pace maker with the entry of inch lodge interesting to see what theyre upto! 0.5pt e/w masterofthehorse 8/1 corals 5.00 Ascot Credit swap has been running extremely well recently racking a hatrick up recently and a good 2nd last time out at newmarket, has previously won over course and distance and ground should be to liking, if coping with the upgrade in class should be there! Fanunalter appears to have gone handicapping off a very attractive mark having only his second start last time out off a mark of 89 and finished a brilliant second is raised 5lb for that effort also interesting to see fallon taking the ride. 0.5pt win fanunalter 9/4 lads 0.25pt e/w credit swap 15/2 hills

Re: Ascot - Sun 27th Sept 2.05 Ascot Chiberta King has ran two good races over course and distance now, firstly when second to Cosmic Sun (btn 1.25l) in June and then when second to Polly's Mark (btn 3l) here in August. He was stepped up in trip at Ffos Las last time out and ran well taking second again after briefly leading, but I think he may be ridden with a little more restraint today and under William Buick he can go well. Unleashed hasn't seen much racing in handicaps and although held in listed and group races this season, may be sharpened up with first time blinkers now dropped in grade. Chiberta King 4/1 SJ, 15 pt win Unleashed 14/1 Bet 365, 1 pt win 2.40 Ascot Red Rocks is a classy sort and beat Curlin in the Man O'War Stakes at Belmont last year. He is a multiple Grade 1 winner that is high class on his day. His last few runs have been disappointing but he is back with Brian Meehan now and with Martin Dwyer riding really well he could bounce back here. 10/1 Bet 365, 2.5 pts win. 5.00 Ascot Fanunalter chased home Stoic on his handicap debut at Sandown last time out and the form of that race has been boosted many times since. He probably has more to offer on what is only his third start. Espiritu ran well here earlier in the season and looks to hold claims off this mark whilst Elna Bright is well handicapped on old form but may be possibly outclassed at this level. Tartan Gunna flopped here on his last visit but has been progressive this season and may bounce back after his recent win. Fanunalter 2/1 Bet 365, 15 pts Espiritu, 9/1 SJ 2.5 pt saver Tartan Gunna, 12/1 SJ, 2.5 pt saver Elna Bright, 16/1 Bet 365, 2.5 pt saver

Re: Ascot - Sun 27th Sept 3:50 Ascot: Machine Gun Kelly 1pt e/w 16/1 & Nom De La Rosa 1pt e/w 50/1 both Stan James (Bog) Both of these horses have had the minimum three runs and could show themselves in better light now they run in a nursery. The more likely is Machine Gun Kelly who should improve for this step up to seven furlongs. Nom De La Rosa has little form, however 50/1 does seem overpriced and could crawl in to a place.

Re: Ascot - Sun 27th Sept Been thinking about this current idea doing the rounds that Ascot has become a specialist track more akin to polytrack than turf..........it's all probably exagerrated but thought I'd pick out some horses that have shown Ascot/polytrack form and see how they get on......... 2.05 Unleashed Chiberta King Barwell Bridge 2.40 Campanologist Drill Sargeant Indian Days 3.15 Art Connoisseur High Standing Mullein 3.50 Astonishment Pleasant day Bahamian Music 5.00 Espiritu Tartan Gunna Fanunalter Few favourites, few longshots............see how they go ! I suppose if it's going to be the basis of a 'system' it would be better if the bigger priced ones won or placed 'cos the favourites would probably win or place anyway..............

Re: Ascot - Sun 27th Sept 2.05 Night Crescendo returns to the scene of last years triumph in this race, has raced 3 times this season at the track finishing 7th, 11th & LTO 2nd only 0.5L behind Press the button. The interesting stat is that of 5 career wins, 4 have come in the autumn (1 in sept, 3 in Oct). It is also off the same mark as last year & 4lb better than highest win. All its rivals are running off higher marks than best win 6/1 with hills 2.40 Macarthur must be worth a small gamble returning to ascot for the 1st time for new trainer De Kock after 3 unplaced efforts in dubai in the winter. Hasnt raced on turf this year & last year won the Hardwicke stakes under a superb ride by Murtagh holding off Multidiemnsional but pair 5L clear of the field. Trianer is 4 wins from 17 runs this season in the UK. 12/1 Bet365 EW 3.15 Sayif ran a good race in the Betfred sprint cup at Haydock last time out finishing 4th behind Regal parade, on fast ground the horse form reads 1-2-2-3 & i think will suit the horse today in this Grp2 event. With the withdrawal of strike the deal, Palace moon looks the danger to me but i will stick with sayif who gets a few allowances & is a big 16/1 Paddy power EW
