Catterick 06/05/2008

Catterick 6.05 Red Cell WIN The selection was well backed on debut at Southwell last time and should come on for that run. He was second that day and should be able to take this with ease as theres not a lot to beat. Red Cell is from a family that produces winning sprint juveniles and he should break his maiden here. :ok

Re: Catterick 06/05/2008 7.05 Catterick Not a great day so far but thankfull all the losers were small bets, there was only one real bet today and that was Look So. This race however would be my NB and will be having a fair bet here. Hiccups was trained by Lynda Ramsden and Dandy Nicholls in the past and always always had his quirks. He is very well handicapped on the best of his form, some of which was as recent as last season. If he is on a going day then he would probably take this. I've always thought quirky types are at their best when kept busy. It works in NH when frustrating types are put over the X-Country fences, their eye is kept on the game due to these obsticles and there is less time for them to think themselves out of contention. The same can be said of some types on the flat. Some awkward types are much better at handy, tight, turning tracks - basically because the always have to be on their game due to the constant turns etc, there is no time for them to switch off. It can certainly be said of Hiccups. His 8 wins have come at Carlisle, Ponty, Doncaster, Catterick (x2), Thirsk, Warwick, Southwell. Only one of those wins were at a course with a long straight, Doncaster. And that was in his early 3yo days. I'm not saying he is bound to win as he is running at a track that suits, BUT he is more likely to win here (or similar) than any other course. His overall record here over 7f is 124160. And as it looks like he is coming back to form and should be spot on, he should be backed. Decent draw too. Bel Cantor is interesting back over 7f, won his last start over the trip but is usually over 6f. Sure to make a bold from the fron on the inside. Tencendur and Imperial Echo have gone up after recent wins but are still well handicapped on best form. Hiccups is 4.8 on betfair and Bel Cantor is 9. Will be having a 70/30 in favour of Hiccups.
