Rob the I ty
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! It's all greek to me. France have good value though I believe Italy should be the favorites even without Totti.
aliando
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! nothernred - i've added in the current odds to your post as its easier for them to be found their rather than 3rd post in. and i have no idea, being the answer to your question! the euro's tend to be a little more open, although at this point in time, italy are the only stand outs for me. prices arent anywhere near attractive for me at this time, and will likely wait until the start of the tourney. NorthernRed2
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! Glad you have the same view as me and the lads at work, just can't see why they are fav to win the thing. Looked at their group at the moment and they are looking good to qualify but it's not that hard of a group. There must be some logic behind the bookies making they outright fav. dsmythy
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! I think the world champs should be ahead of them alright. The Germans must be a popular bet to have them where they are. At the risk of sounding foolish i think the holders Greece look worth a small bet at those prices. In qualifying for 2004 after losing their first two games they won their final six not conceding once. Obviously your going to have to ignore their recent world cup qualifying campaign. So far in their current qualifying group they are showing eerie signs of repeating results achieved in 2004. Taking out the one game they got beat up on by the Turks 4-1 they've won every other game only conceding once. If they finish the rest of the campaign unbeaten with clean sheets who knows maybe lightning could strike twice!

gerrie26681
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! Germany are favourites for me also, for the following reasons. They have an excellent record in international tournaments. In 2006 they werent fancied at all but made the semi finals. They have a young team (apart from goalie). Settled too. The majority of Italy team are approaching or over 30. Buffon, Nesta (retired) Grosso (now with Lyon) Materazzi (will be 32) Gattuso (will be 30) Inzaghi (will be 32/33) Totti will be 30. France are in a period of transtition for me. Lot of older players with the younger players taking time to settle. For me the winners of 2008 will be Germany / Holland / England. England could easily win it with the players at their disposal however with McClaren in charge I wouldnt fancy them to win a rigged raffle! NorthernRed2
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! Fair enough points on Italy, their team is ageing and was peaking when they won the world cup. Also agree with the France comments, I think England have the players to win it but won't, we haven't got the balls or tactics to win a competition. I can see Holland doing up it but we say that every tournament. In terms of players i really fancy Spain, but they always under perform. So Germany do appeal, but still don't feel they are worthy fav.
Cash Handler
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! Does anyone like the look of Portugal? Some great young players breaking through, especially in England! Outside bet, still agree with Holland and Germany. However, Holland have a very difficult group! :ok
hegisin
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! Are most of you new to betting? Let me explain to you: the team with the best true chance of winning the Euro 2008 will be the favourite. So there is not much discussion about it: Germany is still a very good value bet. England will drift to 20/1 very soon and if you can't trade out at that price I recommend to take on 25/1. See you in Austria/ Switzerland next year! Cheers, hegisin
Valderrama11
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! I think it could be a very open tournament tbh. Germany though I wouldn't put as favourites, in the WC the home support helped them no end.

ollandos
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! I like The Netherlands at 10.00 in betfair.! The best power force in my opinion by far with v.nistelrooy up front, robben and van persie on the flanks. At those places could also play Kuyt, babel, huntelaar, castelen. In the centrum you have Seedorf, sneider, v.der vaart, maduro, de jong, afelaay, drenthe. The problem is the defence with van bronchorst, boulharouz, heitinga, mathijhsen, kromkamp ... not good enough. Goalie van der saar is excellent. Any thoughts you others about holland?? Fozflash
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! I would say Holland have the strongest team on paper but they haven't seemed to really perform in the last few major tournaments. That said I think they will see Euro 2008 as the opportunity to bounce back. Always a tough team to get a result against. I'd love to see them go up against Portugal again. 10.00 is a great price, Will Hill has them at 7/1.
eirebhoy
Re: Germany Fav Euro 2008!! I'm gonna go for Spain. Italy are not going to win it under Donadoni. I can't believe how low they're priced. I had them backed with relatively high stakes for the world cup so I know all about them. They're not the same team under the new manager.
