Fridays NAPS here. :ok Friday the 13th, unlucky for some - hopefully the some will be Corlas, Bet365, WillHills, Ladbrokes etc as we take them to the cleaners.

Re: Fridays NAPS ~ 13/07/07 Hellvelyn 3.10 Newmarket (EW NAP) If I offered you 50-1 for a Group 2 winner, placed at Group 1 and winner over this trip you'd probably bite my hand off. That's exactly what we have here. Won well at Ascot in 2006 beating Major Cadeaux and Holy Roman Emperor and then had form reversed with the latter in a Group 1 race in Ireland. Travels well and has a touch of class that makes 50-1 seem ridiculous. Reported to have been working well at home, back after a long break and may need the run but is best on firm ground and has a real chance at a massive price. It will not be 50-1 by race time.

Re: Fridays NAPS ~ 13/07/07 Cork 7.45 Gemini Lucy 1pt win. Very interesting runner. Been running over fences and with some success notably at Fairyhouse when she destroyed a high class field. Turns her attention to hurdles but several classes above her rivals and as long as she stays on her feet and that has caused difficulties before, should be to good.

Re: Fridays NAPS ~ 13/07/07 EA 1.30 Newmarket. Improving all the time and loves fast ground ( few showers this morning but brightening up for a sunny afternoon, so should be good/firm...apparently ) and with already having the form in the bag and the figures to go well in context with this race, he could be very tough to beat if improving a bit more. Jockey Ryan Moore in top form and so although we have a 6lb rise to deal with, I think Ryan can get a good early position and then gallop on and on and be hard to beat. That's the plan anyhow, so here's hoping.

Re: Fridays NAPS ~ 13/07/07 3.10 Drayton e/w You can actually make a case for over half the field, high number draw seems favable although it won't be much disadvantage if drawn low numbered. I can't have a horse first time out for the season in this hot sprint that would take some winning to win or even place. Dutch Art has to be the winner if dropping in trip is no worries. Asset has his ground and should have a place at least. Sakhees Secret is in top form winning 3 times this season and has a high draw and goes on the fast ground looks the most likely winner. But around 11/1 for the place at 50/1 for the win I think Drayton could be worth a little bet. The ground is the only big worry although finished only 3/4 lenghts behind Holy Roman Emperor on firm ground. Missed the break at Ascot and still ran a huge race to finish 5th, 6 lenghts in front of Amadeus Wolf who is over half his price today. Small stakes race but I've seen worse 50/1 shots.

Re: Fridays NAPS ~ 13/07/07 2.35 Newmarket: Fantastic View Came back and ran with great credit in Hunt Cup at Ascot after lay off for over 2 and half years. Drop to 7f should suit as didn't last home too well at Ascot, ground conditions are right, Seb Sanders up again and if this horse is able to recapture it's 2yo form could prove very well handicapped. Re: Fridays NAPS ~ 13/07/07 850 Hamilton : Alambic Due to go up 15lb in the handicap so had to try and take a race of this class in before that, opposition looks fairly weak and looks like another of Prescotts that could go on to much better things.

Re: Fridays NAPS ~ 13/07/07 Weatherbys Superlative Stakes (Group 2) - 14.00PM - Nap Barry >Hills has had a good strike rate this year with his 2yr old's and saddles Feared in Flight here, being by Hawk Wing the trip and ground should be no worries, was last seen when finishing third to Maze in the Chesham Stakes at Ascot, the 7th place horse in that field Scintilo has come out and demoralised a field last week, the Chesham was not the greatest of rides by Mick when making good headway and was checked and hampered at the quarter mile pole, but stayed on well to take third up to the line, the danger looks to come from Hatta Fort from the Channon yard, third to Winker Watson last time out and was making great strides in the closing stages to suggest a step up in trip will suit, the form is holding well with Swiss Franc who finished third that day,ran again second to Winker Watson yesterday, but that was a class 5 stakes at Windsor and is taking a massive hike up the ladder here to Group company, so back to the selection, lightly raced with a Listed placing and looks the one they all have to beat this afternoon. Suitable Ground : Good to Firm Jockey % at track : 25.00% / +£1.50 Trainer % at track : 13.00% / -£8.67 Combo % at track : 50.00% / +£5.50

Re: Fridays NAPS ~ 13/07/07 9.20 - POLYQUEST - Several trends in this one's favour tonight . There should be no problem with the Distance of 9f as it has won over 10f at PONTEFRACT and 9f around HAMILTON with its stiff uphill last 2-3 furlongs on ground thats getting wet at the present time negates the extra 1f , imo. It's last 2 outings were over 12 + 11f respectively and according to it's breeding that should not have been a problem but it's back to 9f for this one, so a slight worry there. The PONTEFRACT win was in a CLASS 5 race [ same as tonights ] when it was racing off a mark of 54 , only 4lb higher tonight after it's last 2 runs . It's the following that sways me towards POLYQUEST ; Trainer G BUTLER has a strike rate of 31% at HAMILTON PARK and, of the Eleven 3 y-olds who have contested this event in the past 10 runnings 4 have won . POLYQUEST is one of only three 3y-olds in the race , out of the the other 2 one is the probable Fav , HURRICANE THOMAS who hasn't seen a race-course for 252 days !!
