Anyways I had about 1800 blinds were 50-100 there were 5 players late in the SNG. I had AQ offsuit and I raised the minimum since it was the kinda raise that left me with one player in this table previously. I got a call from a big stack who had like 5000 and the big blind who was not so important. Flop was 7Q2 I bet 2/3 of the pot and got called by the big stack. then I had smt like 900 left so I bet again smt like 300 because the turn wasn't dangerous but then he re-raised me all-in. Three people left so we were all in the money. I was the middle stack and I was in a good position. I had AQ offsuit and the big stack raised from the SB again to 600 (100-200) so I wanted to finish the hand there by reraising to 1800 also to gain some respect so he can't push me around every time. But he re-raised me all-in. I called and he showed pair of 6's. Board was 6?AA?. So I would probably lose a lot even if I called but what I wanna ask is I how should I handle these situations? I think after the flop, your options are only all in or check ..... the bet of 400 makes you pot committed, so if you're playing it, you need to maximise your fold equity. I often get caught up in the same way with AK/AQ at this stage in a tourney .... your stack's too big to go all in with pre flop, but to small to make a continuation bet and get away from the hand. Being in such bad position, maybe the limp (or EVEN the fold :loon I know ridiculously tight, but I've done it!!) pre flop is the answer..... I guess my contiuation bet was too silly I should've check-folded and get them later probably. what do you think about that? Remember - it's because the bad players can win, that they keep coming back and making the same mistakes ...... getting unlucky in one hand doesn't matter - that's part of the normal swings, the normal variance of poker - all you have to be interested in is - "Was I ahead when the money went in?/Did I have the right odds when the money went in?" - the answer here is yes - so good play :ok You're ahead, BUT not massively so - you're 71.5% v 28.5% - that means that you will win about 7 times out of 10, BUT it also means that you will lose 3 times out of 10 ...... that's not especially unlikely!!! I can't control myself sometimes I hope that will improve. I would like to post much more hands than here but Boss has a really bad error in their hand history section. It doesn't show the hands that I get eliminated in which are the most important hands for me. I mailed it to them but I think they won't help much as their live helpers didn't. You are surely getting correct pot odds here given his range of hands. His M is down to 7 here and he is probably pushing here with Ace-Medium or higher, most pocket pairs and maybe even KQ and other paint cards. The tourney after that again I lost with pocket 8's against AK. I've lost so many coin flips in a row now I started to have a phobia for them. I should improve that cheers.
