Re: APAT UK Amateur Poker Championship lol - I know :sad The reason it happes so often - I haven't the patience to wait for pages to load - so I open 4 or 5 at a time in new tabs - if it's the 5th one I read, it may have been sitting there for a few minutes..... I'll put registration date for this in the diary, as a reminder ;)

Re: APAT UK Amateur Poker Championship Nice one. Aspers is my local casino, so I'm hoping I get a chance to play. Read on another forum that payment would be Visa/Mastercard. Any other ways of paying? Just that I'm not registered yet for APAT and I probably won't if there's no alternative way of paying my entry fee (Maestro/Paypal).

Re: APAT UK Amateur Poker Championship i reckon there should be a cut off date with regards playing in this, or some qualifying criteria eg...u must have played 50% of the online games or been a member since such and such a date, making a click fest is all well and good, but if members who didnt get seats last time dont get them again this time, your gonna see loyalties tested IMO cant complain about myself however, as i willingly gave my seat up due to work committments last time

The email from APAT says: "(tickets) will go on sale at some point on Saturday. We cannot say specifically when as to do so may disadvantage members who do not have high speed broadband internet access." What about those who are disadvantaged by being unable to wait by their computer all day? How about giving priority to those who didnt make the draw last time (but desperately wanted to do so)? Any thoughts Des?

Hi Mike, We intend to announce an approximate payment window in the next couple of days. So you may be advised of a two hour slot within which seats will go on sale. We are going to try to be as sensible as possible with this. Every member went in the hat for the event 1 draw, and similarly this event is open to every member. I tend to think that 210 seats will not sell out that quickly - but we are in unknown territory. It is only our second event, and we will continue to take learnings on board as we progress through this season. I would like to think we can put some form of regional qualifying tournaments in place at casinos like Aspers and the Broadway for season two - but I appreciate that does not sort the short term demand / supply issue. All I can do is ask you to bear with us and be online during the payment window on Saturday. Regards, Des.

UK Amateur Poker Championship - Entry Details

Dear Member, Please find further entry details for the APAT UK Amateur Poker Championship, which was announced earlier this week. For a £75 entry fee, the winner of the event will win £3,750, a Prestigious Title, Silver Challenge Cup, Gold Medal, 18 Ranking Points and an expenses paid entry to the World Series Of Poker main event, worth $12,000!
Tournament seats will go on sale at www.apat.com, between 6pm and 8pm on Saturday November 4th, and will remain on sale until sold out. In the event of over selling, or a lowering of the capacity at the venue, APAT retains the right to award seats as determined by time of purchase, and refund any others where a place in the tournament cannot be fulfilled.
Fingers on buttons at 6pm - I think this might just be a popular event!

APAT already stated that they would not do a draw again for seats and I suspect that they have had to fall back on this 'click fest' option due to previous plans falling through. :wall If the rumours were true (I said IF) then the proposed Midlands based tourney would have had over 700 seats which should have been enough for any likely demand. Let's give Des and crew a break, APAT is still in it's evolving stage and little, successful, steps are better than running and falling flat on your face!
