I'm giving 10/1 that Dotty can complete a frame in under 20mins... 15/1 on Ebdon... Time to get the old 2005-2006 notebook out...

Picked out 3 bets already. I'll go into more detail sooner rather than later Ding at 2/9 Boyles Day 3/4 spodds McCulloch 4/11 spodds or boyles Treble with boyles returns £28.60 off a tenner Thoughts outright are that an outsider will win. Usually takes a while 4 the top guns to get going. Robertson at 25's looks like a good e/w shot. Anyway great to be chatting again zulu. kevshat
Re: NI Trophy Snooker A few outrights for me. Tough looking draw particularly with no real form to go by. 2pts ew N.Robertson to win NI Trophy 25/1 Stan James (1/2 1,2) 2pts N.Robertson to win 4th Quarter 9/2 Paddy Power Neil Robertson showed flashes of what he's capable of at Sheffield at the end of the season, unlucky to go out in a deciding frame epic up there, he's now in the top 16 and with the confidence that brings I expect him to go quite far here. Murphy and Hendry are in his quarter but he's got wins over both. A superb single ball potter and I think the young Aussie can rip through his section of the draw to get his season off to a good start. 2pts ew M.Fu to win NI Trophy 66/1 Totesport (1/2 1,2) 2pts M.Fu to win 1st Quarter 15/2 Bet365 Marco Fu looked like a new player in the World Championships. He blitzed the field up until the semis where he was unlucky to lose to Peter Ebdon. He's now being coached by Terry Griffiths who is regarded as the best coach in the game. A few months with Terry should have his game very sharp and this is a big price if that's the case. 1pt ew G.Greene to win NI Trophy 200/1 VC (1/2 1,2) When he is at his best Gerard Greene can take any field apart. With this being in his home country I expect him to be up for it. His section of the draw is tough but at his price I think it's worth taking a chance he comes here on fire and gives us a run for our money. 2pts D.Junhui to win 3rd Quarter 7/2 Paddy Power No youngster in the game is as talented as Ding. The reigning UK Champion looks booked in to go well in this event and although Doherty and Higgins are in this quarter I take the Chinese youngster to come through this section. kevshat
Re: NI Trophy Snooker One match bet for Sunday. 10pts D.Gray to beat J.Burnett 1.87 Expekt This is a big season for David Gray, he needs to knuckle down and win some matches to stop the slide on his World Ranking. Jamie Burnett is a solid player but an in form Gray will win this. Hopefully Casper comes here with his right head on and if so he'll prevail. Those who know me know I am usually with it in regards to reasoning, and hopefully they'll cut me a break this time! ZuluWarrior
Re: NI Trophy Snooker Cheers maj69er, I agree, only watching the live scoring, but seemed to make easy work of that match! A bit more concerned about Wattana though, not looking top shelf at the moment, going close in the 6th frame with Jimmy Michie. currently Wattana 30 (3) v Michie 25 (2)... kevshat
Re: NI Trophy Snooker One for me this evening. 10pts M.Dunn to beat M.Holt 7/4 Stan James Mike Dunn is a good player low down the rankings. He wasn't helped by not being able to play many events last season due to injury. He's made last 16s and quarter finals of ranking events before. Michael Holt is a good player but his head ain't there. He loses so many matches in his mind it's untrue. Holt is the better player but given his unstable mind I look to take him on with good players and that's what I'm doing here.

Anyway im going for Burnett tomorrow.Pressure will be huge on dott, they play at the same club and are mates so Burnett wont be too intimitated, also dott was interviewed on TG4 (irish channel) and said he hadnt gotten in as much practice as he would have liked since the WC So Burnett at 2/1,skybet
kevshat
Re: NI Trophy Snooker 2 for me for Tuesday. 10pts R.Day to beat B.Hawkins 10/11 Boylesports Ryan Day beat Mark Allen 5-1 in the 1st round and looked very good in doing so. Day is the real deal and I think he could finally show us what he's made of this season and be a real star of the season. He's been practicing a lot with Mark Williams which has got his game in tip top shape. He ran in breaks of 79, 73, 56 and 91 to beat Allen and a repeat may get the job done. Hawkins is in the top 16 for the 1st time this season but Day beat him 10-1 in the World Championships in a previous meeting and with a match under his belt here I fancy him to win this too. 10pts M.Williams vs A.Norman Under 7.5 Frames 8/11 Paddy Power I saw Andrew Norman's 1st round match with Joe Perry and it was woeful. Mark Williams is in a different galaxy in terms of class and I expect him to see the youngster off with no trouble at all. we have 5-2 on our side and I don't see it being any closer than that so I'm going for the unders here. ZuluWarrior
Re: NI Trophy Snooker 2 bets for me today: Matthew Stevens v Mark King ------------------------------------------------------------ 5pts Mark King To Win @ 2.50 StanJames Looking to the official ratings tells a bleak story for both players, with Mark King scoring more than Stevens but both players dropping through the ratings. I think that King offers a value bet considering the last season. Plus King has some form in Ireland (2005 Irish Masters, knocked out many good players). Stevens is the defending NI Champ however, and so can not be discounted lightly, but the rest of the years performance tells a much bleaker story... John Higgins v Robert Milkins & Mark Williams v Andrew Norman ------------------------------------------------------------ 5pts Double John Higgins To Win @ 1.29 StanJames Mark Williams To Win @ 1.29 StanJames Higgins is another player with a massive skill margin against his opponent, plus the last 2 years have seen him do better in the first half of the season, should be a formallity but nothing is certain this early in the game... Mark Williams is a top class player and bar any odd circumstance Williams should qualify through this round without a problem. Norman did nothing of note last season While Williams continues to progress through the ratings, plus I was impressed by his play at the end of the last year. WIlliams did not start last pear off to well but I believe he's got the bit between his teeth this year... Ryan Day v Barry Hawkins ------------------------------------------------------------ I also agree with Kevshat that Ryan Day has the make over Barry Hawkins and will be placing that bet at a value price... Looking to tommorow, there may be some value to be had with Steve Davis v Gerard Green, Steve Davis is a whopping 2.20 @ StanJames, but who's Gerard Green??? They are a world apart in the rankings, and class. Albeit Davis is now an getting on, he's still got talent and can see off Greene, and possably make us a few quid in these early rounds?? Anyone else think there's value there? Also looking at taking 5pts E/W with M.Williams and K.Doherty outright for the NI, I'll get some sort of reasoning together first though... ZuluWarrior
Re: NI Trophy Snooker 2 Outright bets for me this tornament, one on each side of the knockout table... Ken Doherty To Win Outright NI Trophy ---------------------------------------------- 5pts E/W @ 17.00 StanJames In my eyes Ken is the best player of the tour last year. Scoring more ranking points than anyone else and being pipped from the number 1 spot due to only 2004-2005's results. Consistantly doing well, and was unlucky to not progress further through the World Championship, being knocked out by my "Snooker betting nemisis" Marco Fu. Ken will be really playing to maintain his position in the elite, it was great watching him improve throughtout last year. And now with the home field advantage I see him progressing well through this tornament. 5pts he makes the final and another 5 he wins it. Mark Williams To Win Outright NI Trophy ---------------------------------------------- 5pts E/W @ 11.00 StanJames After a bit of a slump and revival last year Williams will be more than aware of what importance rides on the first half of the season. He knows that if he had started last season better he would be high in the ratings. I predict then that he will endevour start this season well. I was most impressed by Williams return to form last year and believe he will be one to watch. Ante-post Return (Stake) : 0.0 pts (20pts/2 bets/2 Outstanding) Qualifying Return (Stake) : 4.52 pts (20pts/1 bet) 1st Round Return (Stake) : 0.0 pts (10pts/2 bets/2 Outstanding) Total Return (Stake) : 4.52pts (50.0 pts) 4 Outstanding
