Scottish Grand National

Certainly not a trace for big stakes but ive chosen 2 against the field nonetheless. Concentrate on bookies who are offering 5 places each way, due to the big field :ok Firstly, look at THE BAJAN BANDITS record at Ayr. it reads something like: 1,1,1,1,1,1,1 :eek Pretty good eh? Worth bearing in mind that todays race is of a different nature to those he has contested but nevertheless he has shown a liking for the track which is of course a bonus. The going should be in his favour as it is apparent that his best form has come on a softer surface. Available at 25/1 Stan James - who pay the 1st 5 home :clap Secondly im having a crack on JUVEIGNER from the Henderson stable. I was impressed with his run at the Festival where he was just caught by the progessive Dun Doire, proving his stamina for this race in the process. I normally wouldnt touch anything that ran in the English National but as he was a first fence faller, i will make an allowance for him. Softer ground is a slight concern but at 16/1 with paddy power (first 5 home paid) i think he is worth a bet. Thoughts anyone?

Re: Scottish Grand National From my daily donkey thread. Idle Talk is a confident selection to land the Gala Casinos Daily Record Scottish Grand National. The dual winning chaser stayed on for a cracking second in the Royal & SunAlliance Chase last month and the lightly-raced seven-year-old has an impressive 50% strike rate under Rules, having won four of his eight starts and he has been crying out for this trip of four miles and a furlong. He has been boosted with the winner following up at Aintree and the fact that Idle Talk was conceding over half a stone to the winner as a weight-for-age allowance enhances his standing even more. Throw in the statistics that novices generally do well in the race and trainer Tom George has always thought highly of him he should run a good race today..

Re: Scottish Grand National MON MOME E/W 14-1 Joes Edge won in a amateurs race on Grand National day last year and then went onto win the Scottish National. Mon Mome won that same amateurs race two weeks ago and must have a great chance of going close here. 2nd in a 3m race at the Cheltenham Festival, his last seven form figures reads 2121121, on ratings he is improving with every start and is worth a try at this trip and with 10-2 I expect a good run.

Re: Scottish Grand National Tom George has said all year that Idle Talk could be a national horse and it will have a great chance this afternoon. It gallops well and jumps soundly and is usually placed, if not winning. It ran well at Cheltenham and looks a better jumper than Darkness and if getting round today should be in the shake up at the end. Kerry Lads must have an ew chance after being placed a few times in this race and has a low weight today and is now 33-1 with bet 365.
