Re: ONE at DECENT ODDS Racing Post

Tipper Road, runner-up on both his starts since winning over this trip at Fairyhouse early this month, had attempted to make all at Navan on Sunday. Ridden with more restraint here, he led before two out and was ridden clear on the final bend only to weaken and be headed on the run-in. he led before two out and was ridden clear on the final bend only to weaken and be headed on the run-in.
must be frustrating for his connections

Re: ONE at DECENT ODDS I know the title says ONE but because I didn't have one yesterday i am going to have two today. nothing to do with the fact that I couldn't make my mind up which one of these two to put on here. so fingers crossed :hope Thursday 23/02/2006 Thurles 03:15 TAKE YOUR MARK f/c. 5/1 stake = 10 pts WIN Racing Post Take Your Mark, who has got away with a 7lb rise for a 5l win at Fairyhouse, should again be thereabouts. His previous Fairyhouse second was achieved behind Tipper Road who is proving a reliable yardstick having now finished second on three occasions since then. LTO TAKE YOUR MARK, raised 3lb for finishing second over this course and trip early this month, may make a quick reappearance under a mandatory penalty at Clonmel today following his win here. This was the eight-year-old's second win over hurdles and, after being hampered soon after the start, he raced prominently and got on top soon after the last before drawing clear. He was blinkered for the first time on his previous start and was similarly equipped here. using Tipper Road as a yardstick he should go close. ===================================================== Southwell 04:50 SORBIESHARRY f/c. 9/1 stake = 10 pts. WIN Racing Post Very well in on the form he showed here and at Wolverhampton in the early part of last year; ran a bit better than bare facts indicate last week, on the cards that he will bounce back at some stage and Robert Winston an interesting booking. LTO held up towards rear, ridden and headway on inside over 1f out, no impression final furlong. 3 of his 9 wins have been at Southwell and these three wins were all over 8f. back down to 8f today after running LTO over 9f at Wolverhampton where he faded over the last furlong. plus Robert Winston booked I think that speaks for itself. should return to winning ways today.

Re: ONE at DECENT ODDS RESULT Thurles 03:15 TAKE YOUR MARK.....2nd..8/1 Take Your Mark was 7lb higher than when winning a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last week. He was tenth and under pressure turning for home but stayed on well in the closing stages. The step up to this trip seemed to suit and a similar contest on testing ground will provide him with an excellent chance of winning again. Southwell 04:50 SORBIESHARRY.....nowhere 7th. Re: ONE at DECENT ODDS Friday 24/02/2006 Wolverhampton 05:45 SORBIESHARRY f/c. 9/1 stake = 10 pts WIN Racing Post An open looking contest in which SORBIESHARRY is fancied to repeat last year's success on the back of a recent run. Effective after a recent run and returned to form here at this stage of the season last year; dropped to a decent mark and bold show expected to repeat last year´s success on the back of a never-nearer run at Southwell yesterday. LTO in rear, ridden along 3f out, stayed on under pressure approaching final furlong, not reach leaders six of his nine wins have come at Wolverhampton 5 of the six here were over todays 9f. R.Winston retains the ride i got it wrong yesterday but going to give him another chance today. :hope

Re: ONE at DECENT ODDS Saturday 25/02/2006 Chepstow 04:20 DESERT TOMMY f/c. 5/1 stake = 10 pts WIN Desert Tommy was a Quick System selection on Tuesday but didn't run. Racing Post Improved performer latterly for this rider, supplementing convincing win in amateurs race at Exeter with clear-cut success (Miss Fahrenheit third and held) in testing ground over this trip at Towcester; another 7lb higher here but obvious chance, especially as may still be on the upgrade. (52,000gns, foal 65,000gns) 8th foal, half-brother to several winning juveniles who later progressed, inc. high-class US 9f horse Jumron and useful 2m hurdler of 2003 Far Pavillions (Halling); dam 1m 2f winner at three years in France LTO DESERT TOMMY did exceptionally well under his welter burden given his lack of size and scope and he looks a progressive five-year-old. He was carrying a penalty for his emphatic Exeter success last Sunday and, although tackling much more testing conditions here, he was more than equal to the task. Never far off the pace, he closed in on long time leader Classic Sight and jumped to the front at the second-last flight before powering clear up the hill. He is clearly versatile having won a fast ground juvenile hurdle back in 2004 and after only seven career starts he could easily have plenty more to offer. 2 wins out of 2 rides for this claimer.

Re: ONE at DECENT ODDS two selections for today who haven't run for a while got a fancy for these but i am probably the only one who has so maybe you better just watch them. Sunday 26/02/2006 Fontwell 02:10 BEARE NECESSITIES f/c. 33/1 stake = 5 pts EACH WAY hoping he hasn't lost any of his ability and just think he might just go well for his new stable. with L.Aspell who rode him LTO taking the ride. Racing Post Looked to have a future when third on his second run in a novice event at Warwick in May 2004 but not seen since and has changed stables, so a few questions to answer now. LTO ran a cracking race on only his second outing and looks to have a future. ============================================== Naas 02:20 EYE SEE YOU f/c. 12/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY Racing Post LTO Newcomer EYE SEE YOU battled on strongly in the closing stages to repel the persistent challenge of Gaelic Scholar. The pair finished 20 lengths clear of the third placed. mid-division, headway into 2nd 4f out, led 3f out, ran wide and strongly pressed straight, kept on well under pressure inside final furlong.

Re: ONE at DECENT ODDS RESULT Fontwell 02:10 BEARE NECESSITIES.....2nd..20/1 seventh to Ashley Brook on his debut and a fair third at Warwick on his two previous starts, was returning after a 659-day absence, so can be said to have run really well. Re: ONE at DECENT ODDS Sorbiesharry runs today but i aren't putting it in here. Monday 27/02/2006 Ayr 03:05 RESEDA f/c. 10/1 stake = 5 pts EACH WAY placed in 4 out of his 5 runs today under a 7lb claimer and down in distance i think a good run is on the cards but its just my opinion. Racing Post Dual winner in bumpers in 2002 and back from a long time off with two decent efforts in novice hurdles at longer trips when with Richard Phillips last winter; wouldn´t be at all far away on that form but readiness for this has to be taken on trust and trip (last ran over an extended 3m1f) and ground are potential issues. LTO Reseda, who made much of the running, kept galloping to the end.

Re: ONE at DECENT ODDS Tuesday 28/02/2006 Lingfield 03:30 SPEED DIAL HARRY f/c. 6/1 stake = 10 pts WIN Racing Post Fine effort to beat some in-form rivals in valuable handicap at Southwell last time for today´s apprentice (7f); had won twice over 1m at same venue in January; low draw round here a totally different proposition for a 7lb claimer, but capable of going well again if handling track (only run over 5f here). LTO A competitive race for this good prize, and a good finish with SPEED DIAL HARRY, who has been running well over a mile recently, finishing strongly from off the pace to record his third win of the year. On this evidence, he is still very much on the upgrade. ========================================================= Lingfield 01:30 BAHHMIRAGE f/c. 12/1 stake = 5 pts EACH WAY Racing Post Best effort over 1m here latest, especially given she raced wide throughout; 6lb better with Franky´N´Jonny for 2l but latter rival stayed on much more strongly; needs to improve again on this first try at 1m2f. LTO would have finished a shade closer but for hanging badly left under pressure when produced down the wide outside. She is lightly raced and looks to be progressing with her racing.

Re: ONE at DECENT ODDS Wednesday 01/03/2006 Downpatrick 03:55 FRANKIE DORI f/c. 5/1 stake = 10 pts WIN Racing Post Improved ground conditions could suit Frankie Dori successful over 3m1f on good ground at Punchestown in October and a creditable second to Another Club Royal at Musselburgh last time, a contest that he would quite possibly have won but for a mistake at the ninth fence which left him with a fair bit of ground to make up. LTO Irish raider Frankie Dori did well to recover from a mistake at the ninth, and gradually worked his way back into the race and stayed on for pressure but just failed. These conditions clearly suited, and he was a shade unlucky.

Re: ONE at DECENT ODDS Thursday 02/03/2006 Lingfield 04:40 SCROLL f/c. 7/1 stake = 10 pts WIN (10,000gns vendor) first surviving foal; dam a 6f 2yo winner, from family of Wind In Her Hair, top-class winner in Germany and placed in English and Irish Oaks Today back over 8f. which will be to his advantage. never returned to the track this quick before. just 2 days since his last run i think he has a great chance today to be first home. but me tipping him could be the kiss of death going on my recent tips. Racing Post Added another placing to his collection when third in 7f maiden here last week and usually finds his stride all too late but return to this C&D will help; fair third off 1lb lower mark when last seen in handicap.. LTO added another placing to givethe form a solid enough look but he had little to beat for that berth.
