these are the selections in my old RPR/RTF system for this afternoon's flat handicaps ...... 

RPR is the Racing's Post's form figure and RTF is the Post's trainer form figure (the figure is a measure of how the trainer's runners are achieving their form level) So ideally adding the two figures together and selected the top rated will give a horse around the top rated who is most likely to run to his rating. That's the theory !
