Re: EW Double System Hi slapdash I wonder if it would not be better if you spilt your bet in half and had 1/2 pt EW and 1/2 pt EW ALL EW and the reason i say this because you get some nice price winners with some good placed ones. i know if you had 2 winners or more you would lose out and if you had 2 placed or more but looking at a few of your last results you would have been better of EW ALL EW. thats why if you split the bet you would get the best of both worlds.

Re: EW Double System

Hi slapdash I wonder if it would not be better if you spilt your bet in half and had 1/2 pt EW and 1/2 pt EW ALL EW and the reason i say this because you get some nice price winners with some good placed ones. i know if you had 2 winners or more you would lose out and if you had 2 placed or more but looking at a few of your last results you would have been better of EW ALL EW. thats why if you split the bet you would get the best of both worlds.
EW ALL EW means that all the return from the first bet is split equally between win and place for the second bet, does it? The reason I don't do it like this is that the horses I pick are ones where I believe that there is a lot of value in the place half of the bet, but not in the win half. Then the point of putting them in EW doubles is to magnify the profits from the place bets and diminish the losses from the win bets. For example, if a win single lost on average 50% of the stake, but a place single won on average 50% of the stake, then an EW single or an EW ALL EW double would break even on average, but a normal EW double would on average lose 75% of the win stake, but win 125% of the place stake. That's just an example: the 50% figure is too high in both cases. Of course, it's frustrating when I get just one winner at a good price, so it goes to waste. But the profit is coming from the place doubles. In the stats I'm keeping, you'll see that I've split the profit between win and place halves of the bets. And currently I've made almost enough profit from the place doubles to pay for the stakes on the win doubles, but I'm losing about half of the win stake. So I'm happy to make a small loss while I get some returns from the place doubles, and wait for the occasional big payday when a win double comes in.

Yes i do understand what you are saying, the odds are staked against you finding winners once your Sps are above 20/1 but on the place side they will do better than most people think and it was just that you had a few winners lately . It does mean equal about as you say in your reply but i was not surgesting all the stake should be equal about only half and the other half ew. But what you are doing is working very well for you and may it carry on doing so.
