Initial Lay stake is €10.20 to win €10 after commission per successful lay (so 1% of bank). Max price is 10.0 (so max loss per selection is 9% of bank). If the price is above 10.0 at the time the selections are placed, a lay of €10.20 will be placed on the race at 10.0 and "kept" to be then matched in-running. If its matched it is recorded, if not, its not. Results will be recorded at BSP if the price at the off is below 10.0 The stake will stay at €10.20 until the bank grows; once it does the stakes will revert to a new 1% of bank of continue. The Accountant Posted May 10, 2023 Author Share Posted May 10, 2023 Just to note that there has been some larger drifters in testing over the last few months from the price when the selections have been picked, to the price compared to the off. This may be an angle to keep an eye on for people also. I had a selection yesterday that I layed at 8.2 that went off at 18.0 - of course this doesn't happen with all but its been rare to have a horses tighten significantly. The one pick that did come in first, Doctor Foley, benefited hugely from two late NR's and would have struggled to get in first had Doyens De Ante run. On the flip side Captain Broomfield traded into 1.14 before being beaten off a BSP of 5.49. +7.77 units profit overall. The Accountant Posted May 16, 2023 Author Share Posted May 16, 2023 Unexpected run from Marsh Benham there; the recent run of layed horses trading low and coming up short worked against for us there, with Bantry getting a soft ride coming in and ultimately came up short when it could have pushed on to win. Anyway, we've started great in the thread. As I mentioned above, the majority of selections appear to be drifters so in real terms the prices on my losing lays are less than BSP so my real profits overtime should be bigger than any noted here. Needless to say and typically so yesterdays 4 from 5 did not occur in any testing phase and is the worst single day loss in over a years review. Bank is €994 so essentially back to where we started but given the massive hit the bank took on one day last week (very much against previous results) I'm very happy with that. Laying to Win; Stake €10.22 to Win €10; all records kept at BSP. In the main taking the early lay appears to be paying dividends as a lot of selections are drifting before the off. With 49 selections there's a positive % cumulative drift of 363%. The Accountant Posted May 27, 2023 Author Share Posted May 27, 2023 Between non-runners and one selection that didn't hit 10.0; we'd 4 successful lays and two short prices winners. Caught a break with Rocambolas losing when having the race won. Bank moves to €1,206. Will be upping stakes on Monday; looking to win €12 per winning lay net of commission. This has started well; given that we are potentially laying to 10.0 the back will fluctuate but once per week/fortnight/month we're on an upward trend I'm happy. The intention will be to build a decent sized bank as we are; likely reduced the stake to 0.5% of bank and stay moving the bank upwards; back testing would suggest there's a huge upside in this for us; I have a personal target in mind to achieve but its of no benefit to go into it here.
