StefanBB
Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid Atlético Madrid will be hoping for a better result following a 2-0 Champions League defeat in their last game at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen. They have been in slightly better form in La Liga, picking up seven points from the previous three games. Los Colchoneros are now 7th with ten points, five less than their rivals. It has not been often in recent times that Atlético Madrid has kept a clean sheet. It will be a concern for them that Atlético Madrid has seen their defense breached in 5 of their previous six games, leaking seven goals during that time. The Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone has a full complement, with no fitness worries to speak of, coming into this match with a completely healthy group available for selection. Real Madrid comes into this game following a 2-0 Champions League win versus RB Leipzig in their previous fixture. Los Blancos have been perfect in La Liga so far, booking all five victories. Over the course of their last six clashes, Real Madrid has bagged the sum of 18 goals. They have additionally got on the scoresheet on each one of those occasions. During that period, their defenders have seen four goals go into their own net. Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has some current player fitness concerns. Éder Militão (Hamstring Injury) and Karim Benzema (Muscle Injury) are not ready for selection. Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction Atletico Madrid hasn’t been very impressive so far this season, and the visitors might take advantage of that. We expect Real Madrid to come on top of their rivals and pick up all three points from this derby match. Goals Market Prediction The crowd couldn’t enjoy many goals in their recent clashes since the previous seven stayed under a 2.5 margin. It should be another tight clash with no more than two goals in total. StevieDay1983
Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid The La Liga action draws to a close this weekend with the epic Madrid derby as Atletico Madrid host Real Madrid in an 8pm BST kick-off on Sunday evening at the Civitas Metropolitano in Madrid. Both teams will be keen to pick up a victory here to avoid falling further off the pace of early league leaders Barcelona but that's easier said than done. Can either team get the win or will they nullify each other? Atletico Madrid will probably have wanted a slightly better start to their season given how well other potential title rivals have started but it's far from a disaster. Diego Simeone's side are in 7th place having won 3, drawn 1, and lost 1 of their opening 5 league games. A lack of consistency is what has let Atleti down so far summed up in two contrasting displays at home this season with the 2-0 home loss to Villarreal followed up by the resounding 4-1 win over Celta Vigo. It's been the same story in the Champions League with the team winning their opening group game 2-1 at home to Porto before losing 2-0 away to Bayer Leverkusen. It's just 1 clean sheet from the last 6 matches across all competitions which isn't in line with the ethos of a Simeone team where defensive solidarity is usually the foundation for his tactical set-up. Real Madrid are looking to retain the title they stormed to last season under Carlo Ancelotti and it's been a satisfactory start so far. Los Blancos are in 2nd position with 5 wins from 5 league games and a win here would move them 2 points clear at the top of the table. The 15 goals scored across the 5 league matches shows that Real still boast the attacking threat of last season with Vinicius Junior starting the season in stellar form. Both teams have scored in all 5 league matches so far but with two clean sheets coming in their the UEFA Super Cup win over Eintracht Frankfurt and their two Champions League victories over Celtic away and RB Leipzig at home it suggests the defensive displays are in their locker. It's now 8 wins in a row for Real Madrid and they are already being tipped as not only being the favourites to retain their league title but also their Champions League success from last season. I have to say that I've not seen anything from Atletico Madrid yet this season that makes me think they can break into the top two occupied by Real Madrid and Barcelona. As always, derby games can provide some intense games and form does go out of the window but Real look so dangerous in their attacking phases that it's going to need an exemplary display from the Atleti back line to keep them at bay. The sort of display we've not seen consistently enough for a while now. I think a Real win with both teams scoring is the best value.
