StevieDay1983
Hull vs Cardiff The Championship season is entering its final days now with promotion, play-off, and relegation issues still left to be determined. Two teams that don't have to worry about any of those problems go head-to-head in a 3pm BST kick-off on Good Friday when Hull play Cardiff at the MKM Stadium. Both sides are looking to continue off the back of positive results on their last outings. Hull are continuing life under new head coach Shota Arveladze. The former Rangers striker must have picked up a tip or two at the Rangers Allstars versus World Allstars charity game at the end of March because his team's performances are improving. The Tigers picked up a 1-0 win away to Middlesbrough in their last league game to keep them in 20th place and 15 points clear of relegation with Barnsley possessing 6 league games to catch them. Not sure that's going to happen! One stand out issue for Hull is that they have lost each of their last 6 home league matches. Both teams have scored in just 1 of the last 8 league games involving Hull. Cardiff firmly put the humiliation of the South Wales Derby defeat to Swansea behind them last week with a much-improved display away to relegation battlers Reading that saw the Bluebirds win 2-1. Steve Morison's side came from behind after teething problems with their new set-up although Morison has since blamed a leak from within his staff team that gave Reading a heads up of these changes. The club have confirmed that keeper Alex Smithies is not set to remain with the club due to his high wage demands and desire to move closer to home. This means Dillon Phillips will likely remain in goal unless youngster George Ratcliffe recovers from his injury. Further exits are set to be announced in the coming weeks but with the likes of Aden Flint, Marlon Pack, Sean Morrison, and Isaac Vassell all not included in the starting XI we can assume that they could also be on their way out. It's just 1 loss from the last 6 league games for Cardiff now including winning 3 of the last 5 away games and morale is back to being optimistic again. I was always keen to ensure the bigger picture wasn't lost after Cardiff's defeat to Swansea and Morison has done well to get a reaction from his players. The involvement of both Joe Ralls and Will Vaulks last weekend suggests both could be set to sign contract extensions but all the others could be on their way out. A number of players are competing for starting spots for next season so I don't expect our performances to tail off. This will be a tough game but we've only lost 1 of our last 5 visits to Hull. I can see us getting something here. Cardiff Draw No Bet @ 2.00 with William Hill Total Goals Scored Under 2.5 @ 1.64 with SBK
