allthethings
This time of year, mid-February through the end of March, these midweek large dogs tend toward draws. Had my eye on Derby to nick a draw, but sadly my book know the trend also, and draw is only at 3.25.
DarrenTse
Blackpool vs Sheffield United Blackpool Blackpool will be looking for a repeat result of a 1-0 Championship success vs Swansea City. Blackpool have been on a persistent run of goalscoring form, hitting the target every time they’ve gone out to play in their last 6 games. They have managed to rack up 9 during that time while seeing the number of goals scored against them stand at 6. However, time will tell if such a trend shall be maintained in this game. Sheffield United After tasting defeat last time out to Coventry City in Championship action, Sheffield United will be aiming to make amends here. Paul Heckingbottom's Sheffield United have slotted home 11 times in the course of their latest 6 matches. The aggregate of goals that they have conceded during that period adds up to 7. Verdict: Blackpool have won three games in a row, but Sheffield have been stable in away game. The 1X2 first odds is 3.10-3.10-2.30, which means support the away team. Sheffield should win ths game. StevieDay1983
Cardiff vs Stoke The Championship midweek action brings us a wealth of intriguing fixtures. One of the games that might fly under the radar is Cardiff versus Stoke in a 7:45pm GMT kick-off from the Cardiff City Stadium. Both teams are realistically safe from the threat of relegation but the prospect of gatecrashing the play-offs appears to be slightly out of reach for them as we enter the final stages of the season. Cardiff are seemingly already preparing for next season with head coach Steve Morison being given a one-year extension to his contract and with a number of younger players including Isaak Davies and Oliver Denham signing new deals. The Bluebirds are in 17th place and 15 points clear of the relegation zone. The team is now unbeaten in their last 3 league games and have kept two clean sheets during that run. Cardiff have lost just 1 of their last 7 home league games so Morison has done well to make his team tough to beat on home turf. Everything is preparation for next season at the moment for Cardiff so it wouldn't be a surprise to see Morison willing to mix things up if the game plan isn't working early on. Stoke come into this game in the middle of a poor streak of results with the team winless in 8 matches across all competitions. Michael O'Neill's job has come under scrutiny with the team down in 15th position and any real hope of a top 6 finish fading away with every abject performance in recent weeks. The Potters have only lost 1 of their last 5 away league games but the 4 matches they didn't lose were all draws. That's worth considering when you see that 4 of the last 7 meetings between these two teams have also ended in draws. Stoke have conceded at least 2 goals in 5 of their last 7 league games so defensive issues are at the core of their poor form at the minute. The longer Cardiff evolve under Morison, the more optimistic I become. I would never have fancied Cardiff to win a game like this 6 months ago but with Stoke stuttering recently it's a prime game for Cardiff to take all 3 points. It is just 1 loss from the last 7 meetings for Cardiff and even though there is such a high rate of draws in this fixture I still think Stoke are on the decline unless they make some stark changes. Cardiff, however, are on the rise under Morison and this is a game I fancy them to win.
