Europa League Predictions > Mar 18th

Recommended Posts

AC Milan

They have been winless for two matches. Obviously they are fatigued as they play two high-intensity games in a week. They are sitting the second place in Italian Serie A, 1 point ahead of Juventus. They also need to prepare for the League game in four days, which brings trouble to Stefano Pioli.

Manchester United

They are facing the challenge of injuries at present. But they are still in good condition, which have got a thirteen-match unbeaten run so far thanks to their excellent defensive. They are likely to defeat AC Milan as long as they put more efforts on offensive.

Verdict:

Luckily AC Milan score a goal in injury time in last round, leading to a 1-1 draw. However, AC Milan do not play well as host, which have been winless for four host game continuously. So the victory is tending to the guest.

Milan vs Manchester United

Milan managed to secure a positive result from the first leg thanks to Simon Kjaer’s stoppage-time equalizer. The hosts don’t have the pressure of chasing the result, but it doesn’t mean it is going to be easy for them. Stefano Pioli’s side heads to this game after losing a derby match against Napoli last weekend. That defeat affected their title bid severely, and they are now nine points behind Inter. Considering their recent form, Milan is far from challenging Scudetto, and they should focus on remaining in the top four. Napoli is now only six points behind and with one game in hand. Rossoneri failed to celebrate at Stadio San Siro on the previous four occasions, and they desperately need a win at the home ground. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the lads had many troubles eliminating Red Star Belgrade in the last round, despite having an extra player in both legs. Milan needs to put a very disciplined performance to secure a place in the quarter-finals.

Manchester United extended its unbeatable streak after beating West Ham United last weekend. The away side remained second in the Premier League table but still very far from the title battle. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has been involved in many draw matches during this streak and spilled important points. However, David de Gea conceded only once in the previous six games, and the Red Devils are very hard to crack. The fact that Manchester United still hasn’t lost on the road this season encourages the away side’s fans. If they can put a similar performance to that one against Manchester City, the visitors will progress to the next round.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

This game can go either way, but we still think Manchester United is closer to the victory. The Red Devils are in a much better momentum, and they should stay in the competition.

Goals Market Prediction

Both sides have been involved in many low-scoring games lately. It is going to be a tight clash in which we don’t expect to see more than two goals in total.

Correct score 0:1 @ 8.00

Rangers vs Slavia Prague

It has been a great season for Rangers so far, and they finally managed to secure a title in the Premiership. After a tough period that lasted for a decade, the Gers won the domestic championship for the 55th time in their history. Steven Gerrard’s side still hasn’t lost in the Premiership, allowing its opponents only four points in 31 games. James Tavernier and the lads have been almost unbeatable in the back, as the hosts conceded only nine league goals. On the other hand, his teammates from the final third have been lethal for the oppositions’ goalkeepers, netting 77 times in the competition. Rangers also enjoy an excellent Europa League campaign after topping their group and eliminating Antwerp in the previous stage. They have an active result from the first leg and a good chance to continue their Europa League journey.

Slavia Prague dominates the Czech 1. Liga and the visitors are 14 points ahead of their arch-rivals Sparta Prague. Despite Sparta having two games in hand, they can hardly endanger Slavia’s authoritative top spot. The away side has also been undefeated in the domestic league so far and with the same number of draws as its upcoming rival. Jindrich Trpisovsky’s side heads to this match after beating Mlada Boleslav 3:0 on the road. Slavia has been excellent in the back with 15 goals conceded, while its strikers produced a total of 66 goals. Nicolae Stanciu and the lads have already faced a UK side in the knockout stage, as they eliminated Leicester City in the previous round. Although Slavia didn’t secure the advantage at home in the first leg, that didn’t prevent them from beating the Foxes 2:0 on the road. Another similar performance could see them progressing to the quarter-finals.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is going to be a very exciting clash, as both teams have been playing excellently throughout the season. However, we believe Rangers are slight favorites, and they should celebrate a victory in this tie.

Goals Market Prediction

Despite their tight defenses, both teams have been very productive in the front this season. Therefore, we won’t be surprised if we see goals in both nets, as we don’t think any of these two teams will keep the clean sheet.

Rangers to win @ 2.30

BTTS Yes @ 1.75

Correct score 2:1 @ 9.50

A goal for Tottenham on Thursday will leave Dinamo Zagreb wanting at least four to qualify. The home team has a good defensive record, but is shocked by the news that its coach will go to jail and we can not see another victory for the English.
DINAMO ZAGREB vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR @@ TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR, odds 2.05

Given the size of its offensive line, Young Boys could threaten the Dutch. However, it is unrealistic to expect Ajax to spend 90 minutes without finding an away goal that will effectively end the qualifying case. I expect both teams to score.
YOUNG BOYS vs AJAX @@ Both team to score, odds 1.50

Arsenal managed to beat only 0-1 in Greece last season before the humiliating exclusion, so the 1-3 advantage will definitely give Arteta's team the confidence needed to do the job as a home team, especially after a victory in the derby in North London. Martins will hope to bring his players together and convince them that they are capable of another shock, but Arsenal are in good shape and it is very difficult. I will bet we will see an open game again and more than two goals will be scored.
