bigbadken
What are peoples thought on the party poker site ? What documents do they require if you are wanting to make a withdrawal ? Thinking of downloading and playing here because of the sats into live games.
Bart(UK)
Bump, been 24 hours and no reply, come on guys/girls, lets help Ken out with some feedback folks! Personally, I've had problems with Party as a company in the past Ken. Mainly not honouring promotions/tokens, with shit poor scripted customer service and with excessive deposit/withdrawal charges and exchange rate markups. I don't personally enjoy the software and find it old fashioned and clunky with something strange happening when multi-tabling on Cascade format. Active table awaiting action suddenly changes just when you're about to click. I would however treat my own feedback with a very large pinch of salt or even discount it totally due to the following factors: The problems are largely historic, things may have improved, I just haven't really been back with the exception of a few centrolls. I understand they've recently withdrawn some/all? of their payment handling fees? Maybe someone can confirm or not? Think communication is probably now better with DTD involvement. As much as I dislike Rob, he does have a direct line to and input in growing PartyPoker in the UK. Other players I've spoken to actually like the software and haven't had any problems. The fact that Patrick, former online world #1, has signed up as a pro/rep suggests that he can live with multi-tabling the big tourneys on it, and hopefully will have a say with future software developments My old pc can't run Grosvenor's new software and sometimes struggles with others. Might be a contibuting factor on Party too? Lastly, but not leastly, I am a right miserable bar steward at the moment and just can't seem to face opening up any poker lobby. Probably clouds my judgement. The mobile app does seem to work pretty well to be fair, can play a tournament pretty easily, but restricted to just 1 tabling, so would need to plan your schedule accordingly. Oh and the satellites do seem to provide a lot of value, Marcin amongst others has done well I believe. Usual turbo format which can lead to crapshoots, but good return for ICM specialists on volume. Sorry can't help more mate, but hopefully more active members will provide more useful and more up to date feedback for you Good luck Ken! avongirl
I don't think I've ever played on Party and don't have it downloaded, although I suspect I do have an account by default migrated via DTD as I get emails from them. I think Bart is right about the withdrawal feels being waived now, pretty sure I saw that on one of their emails. So quite possibly turned themselves around and one of the better sites these days? muttley
I've only recently started playing on this site and so far I like it. Like Ken, I joined mainly for the sats into live comps, and I've been fairly impressed with the number of sats available. They're not especially tough either. So far I've won two $109 tickets at five attempts. Also, I have been told that you can buy into tourneys, or even part-buy into tourneys, at DTD using these tickets. That is, I can turn up at the cash desk at DTD and say "I have two $109 tickets at PartyPoker" and they can subtract $218 from my buy-in. Hope I've got that right! The software is ok and I've not had any issues with being booted.
Danshot
Personally in my limited experience of the new version of the software , it is much improved. With regards to withdrawals I have all my withdrawals done via Skrill and had no issues with either the process and remember no charges and it tells you before you withdraw how much £ you are withdrawing exactly. Any the site appears to be softer compared to Stars , so yes the overall software isn't as good right now as Stars but its as good as any Ipoker.
