Recommended Posts

just rated the november hcap at donc

misterioc     99.10

zand      99.08

argus     99.05

just looking for a bit of value ....misterioc and zand are  closely matched in this .  argus is fav but on paper misterioc should  reverse  form at these  weights ....at twice the price of the fav he looks fantastic ew value  .....zand is more  of a speculative bet ...has been running well on the a.w so no guarntee he will hold form on turf especially soft but zand has run well on turf and is very nicely weighted in this so definate chances if acting and johnston no mug especially in races of this type .....both good value bets in big race

misterioc    2 pts ew 12/1 lads

zand  2 pts ew 16/1 lads

Scoop6 – Saturday November 7th

There were three winners in last weeks Tote Scoop6winning £92,000 each and the place part paid £140. We start again with a brand new Win Fund and the action this Saturday comes from Doncaster on the flat plus jumping from Wincanton. The feature race is the Betfred November Handicap at 3.30 and it is also the Bonus race for the three lucky winners who will be shooting for a share of over £400,000.

Leg 1: 1.50 Doncaster

A very competitive 7f handicap to get the ball rolling this week and there would be no more popular winner than Hillbilly Boy, the mount of Hayley Turner on her final day as a jockey. A C/D winner in soft ground and running really well at present so has a lot of boxes ticked. The 3yo Predominance could be anything after just two career starts but trainer Willie Haggas usually knows the time of day so has to be respected.

The Fahey team have three runners of which I like Farlow who won well here in the summer and David O’Mara’s Fort Bastion could go well at a decent price.

Selection: Hillbilly Boy SP Bet365 (Fort Bastion)

Leg 2: 2.05 Wincanton

The Badger Ales Trophy, one of the first big staying handicaps of the new NH season and reduced to a farce last year when the winner was kicked out after the race. Trainer Neil Mulholland would love to make amends here with his top weight Carole’s Destrier and he has every chance of doing so. The 7yo is an improving type who won a Listed contest at Ascot in February and a reproduction of that effort would see him go close. Drop Out Joe is in good nick but has been put up 10lbs for his Chepstow success. A similar remark applies to Forgotten Gold after he won nicely here last month.

Selection: Carole’s Destrier 8/1 Paddy Power  (Drop Out Joe)

Leg 3: 2.20 Doncaster

A Listed contest over 6f and best in at the weights is Lightning Moon. He’s never looked like winning in his three starts this season but to be fair they have all been in much better races than this. He has gone well on soft ground in the past and is respected. Trainer Dean Ivory has three runners and his best hope lies with last year’s runner-up Lancelot Du Lac. It was heavy going twelve months ago so has no worries about the ground and must go close.

Of the others Shared Equity steps up from handicap company for the first time and top weight Iveagh Gardens travels over from Ireland and both have place chances.

Selection: Lancelot Du Lac 7/1 William Hill (Lightning Moon)

Leg 4: 2.55 Doncaster

Another wide-open affair with 13 fillies doing battle and six of them are improving 3yo’s. The bets of the younger brigade could be Brandybend trained by Marco Botti. Probably out of her depth in the Ribblesdale at Ascot but has ran well twice in this sort of company and has plenty of scope. Hayley Turner gets a nice ride for her old boss on Bella Nouf on her final day and if that won it wouldn’t surprise me in the least. Of the older horses I like the top one Blue Waltz, she is a C/D winner and is the highest rated runner in the line up.

Selection: Brandybend 11/2 Betfred (Blue Waltz)

Leg 5: 3.15 Wincanton

A cracking renewal of the Elite Hurdle won last year by the Ferguson yard. They have two runners this time round and their main hope will lie with Francis Of Assisi who steps massively up in grade after three wins in novice company. Dan Skelton saddles Zarib who was 6th in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham last season, he looks useful but will have to improve a bit to topple the Nicholl’s duo Irving and All Yours. The latter was just ahead of Zarib at the Festival and then won the Grade 1 juvenile hurdle at Aintree so is clearly progressing. Irving was favourite for this race last year but fell when travelling like the winner. He pulled up twice last season including on his latest effort so has something to prove now.

Selection: All Yours 3/1 Stan James (Zarib)

Leg 6: 3.30 Doncaster: November Handicap

The last big handicap of the flat season and we have 22 runners after the withdrawal of ante-post favourite Argus. The race is wide-open as you would expect and you could do a lot worse than look at last years winning yard who send out Awake My Soul. Had his first run back in the UK last month after a spell in Italy and shaped quite well when third to Chancery. Storm Force Ten will relish the soft ground and should go close on his best form; eased when beaten last time and needs to bounce back but looks interesting while Penhill is a progressive sort for Luca Cumani and also goes on the shortlist.

Selection: Storm Force Ten 16/1 Coral (Awake My Soul)
