These swing massively to the luck end of the skill-luck scale. Huge variance prevails and they're massively unequal, unfair even in that a late reg'er can join after an hour, get lucky twice and bust a tag grinder who sat there from the start. I would still however join from start, build a stack up and use it. Numb yourself to everything that happens and turn into an ICM robot. It's actually great ICM practice and useful for better odds understanding in much bigger tournaments. You will get shed loads of suckouts and badbeats, expect it, embrace it, be numb to it all. It doesn't matter, it's just 1p! If you bust, just reg for the next one. Volume = if variance is an illness, volume is the cure. You might get lucky first time out, but I bet you don't. You have to expect and be prepared to put in a large amount of multitabling grinding. There's around 6 different tourneys most on at the same time. 50, 125, 250, 1k, 3k & 10k. Understand what you are playing for. Eg 10k is the wpt Cyprus private jet only, 50 is generic but can be used as Grand Prix I believe, 3k wpt Nottingham in November etc Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Could just buy in direct but why would you when you can get there for 5p? Some are still unlimited rebuys, but I just treat them as a freezeout and have a very good record in them. As with all softer fields you have to still expect guys limping everything and making some crazy pure gamble calls. Tighten your range and value bet everything but thinking always of pot control. You can use the £55 (shown as £50) at the club in various satellites, combine it up to £300 apparantly or play any of the online £55 semi finals/finals. I did this with a £125 recently, was absolutely blitzing the online Day1, safely had 60+bb but went for a mega-stack to make it worth the trip to Nott. Obviously got it in ahead but the 130bb worth pot didn't hold. :lol Edit: Online Day1s tend to be for DTD branded events, unlikely for WPT. Just played my second Final 50, and looked destined to finish in the top 4 until everyone started rebuying on the final table.
