However they scored twice in the last 20 mins of the match to make it a 4-2 victory. Hardly convincing stuff dispatching of a Scandinavian side when you're about to play a solid Bundesliga outfit. The Greeks have failed to win their last 5 away with 2 losses and 3 draws with none of the opposition as strong as Mainz 05. It's 1.40 for the home win across most but the -1 AH isn't up yet. Will wait and see...

Karagandy are a strong home side who have performed well in European competition over the last few seasons, they very nearly qualified for the CL group stages last year when they beat Celtic 2-0 at home but lost the return leg 3-0, they therefore qualified for the Europa League group stages where they didn't do very well finishing last in the group. They won both their qualifiers at home so far 4-0 against Shirak and 3-0 against Atlantas. They are mid-way through their season and sit in fourth place, again this is due to their away form where they have 3-0-8 record but are 8-2-0 at home. They lost 2-0 at the weekend but rested quite a few players with a view to this game. Hajduk look vastly overrated to me like they were last season. They have just started their league campaign playing two games and they lost 4-2 away to Rijeka yesterday and drawing the other. Hajduk have a very young side, average age must be about 21-22, they qualified for this round after beating Dundalk 3-2 over two legs but lost their home game 2-1 - when they were only 1.4 for the win. They have a number of promising youngsters like 16 year old Nikola Vlasic who is interesting a number of top clubs but they don't look like much of a team to me - only a couple of players are over 24, most are 18-22. I think this has initially been priced on name rather than the abilities of the sides, the odds on Karagandy are dropping and I don't think the 1.83 is available anymore, I think at the very least the home side will get the draw but with the European experience they have in the side and their formidable home record they are worth a play for the straight win too. I'm with you on this Toto. Always important to make sure teams are taking this competition seriously. I just tweeted a Bundesliga journalist who confirmed they definitely are. I have taken a bit of the 2.3 on them -1EH with Paddy Power. It's shortening with most books that have prices out. I am from Hungary and completely aware of the fact how crap we are, and not only on national but mostly on club level. This is the sad truth. DVTK will not play in their own stadium, but will travel to Debrecen (the city I live in, 100 km distance). There is a brand new stadium over here, perfect for playing football (not artifical grass!!). I watched DVTK playing here in the first qualifying round against Birkirkara, a team from Malta. They won in the last minutes, playing against 10 men for almost the whole second half. In the next round they - let's say - surpisingly eliminated Litex. DVTK won 2-0 in Bulgaria (odds 7.00), but then almost lost the qualification in their "home" match loosing 1-2. It worth to take a look at the statistics of those two matches... FK Krasnodar is simply way too strong for any of the current Hungarian teams. Having players like Ari, Granqvist, Akhmedov, Izmailov, Bystrov, Wanderson, Joaozinho in their squad tells everything about how huge the gap is between these two clubs. The away win is almost a guarantee, but having odds on -1AH at around 1.90 must worth a shot.

Just too add my opinion on this... Hajduk Split is in ruins. Poor squad selection, financial problems, low confidence, everything just piles up... They were beaten heavily in Rijeka, 4:1 at halftime, several heavy mistakes by their defenders, Rijeka could have them beaten more heavily, but they played the second halftime in a lower gear, saving themselves for their EL match. Now the coach Tudor and their board are in serious problems after this (very poor) start of season (0-1-1), and after almost being eliminated by irish Dundalk in the last round. With some draw cover Shaktar (K) should be a no-brainer.

They have shown what they're capable of when they're fully relaxed with no much of pressure and stress on their back, so now (all of sudden) with all the pressure being on the hosts Hajduk could actually enjoy the occasion. Surely they didn't impress at the start of new season, but quality-wise they're still a better side than Shakhtar IMO, more talented and more skilful without a single doubt. Hajduk will miss a couple of players, so mixed with some shaky form of late we've got a huge movement on the market, but it's really hard to trust a side like Shakhtar Karagandy who're pretty much a physical side, with no much of creativity and they're rather poor/average outside domestic league. I think the point HastGill made about the ages on the Split squad is a significant one. Most of them are babies. This tells me they can't afford more established players and are hoping to grow some stars to sell them on and help alleviate the financial troubles mentioned above, The Kazaks have plently of older players if you compare the two squads on Soccerway. My concern is when you play away in Europe you need to have calmness, leadership, grit and determination. Not characteristics usually associated with youth. Karagandy will be annoyed by the 3-0 reverse at Parkhead and they'll have felt ambushed for a long while after they had one foot in the group stages. They are out for revenge today.

I think that Hull to win is a good bet. However be aware that Maguire and Robertson are ineligible to play. Their other new signings Ince and Snodgrass will give them great width. Steve Bruce has said getting to the Group stages are a huge incentive so definitely a strong team will be played. I believe the game is being played at a neutral ground as Trencin's ground is not up to UEFA standard (it only has 4,500 capacity). This will be Steve Bruce's 100 game as manager of Hull so expect celebrations. Well, you have some things wrong. This team lacks couple of players that played against Inter. Also, that match was so irrelevant to Inter that most of the squad was their second line-up. Milevskiy is a joke, banned from the last two teams he played for, out of form, they've signed him because he was cheap. Hajduk is in a terrible form, coach can't get his players out of this confused state of mind, their defense leaks an all positions. Losing to Dundalk at home is a bad way to go to the next stage. Their loss 4:2 to Rijeka was an additional blow to team morale. I don't see how they could make a positive result today. It would be good for Croatian football if I'm wrong, but, my money is on Karagandy today...

Just see the post and unfortunatelly game is almost over,but just to inform.that in Hajduk is terrible situation,financial are not good,their are no quality players and about Milevsky....that guy didnt play 90 minutes game for more then 2 years, few clubs didnt want him and he finish in Hajduk. Re: Europa League Third Qual Round First Leg - Thurs 31st July Well, Hajduk failed due to poor defending, but you're overreacting with the comments. :) They scored 2 goals, dominated for most of the match and missed a number of sitters, including the one for 3:3 in 93'. They could have scored 5 goals here, if not more. Their shaky defense let them down.

Shakhter Karagandy v Hajduk Split Think the odds on Karagandy are decent here and with draw cover they are well worth a play. Karagandy are a strong home side who have performed well in European competition over the last few seasons, they very nearly qualified for the CL group stages last year when they beat Celtic 2-0 at home but lost the return leg 3-0, they therefore qualified for the Europa League group stages where they didn't do very well finishing last in the group. They won both their qualifiers at home so far 4-0 against Shirak and 3-0 against Atlantas. They are mid-way through their season and sit in fourth place, again this is due to their away form where they have 3-0-8 record but are 8-2-0 at home. They lost 2-0 at the weekend but rested quite a few players with a view to this game. Hajduk look vastly overrated to me like they were last season. They have just started their league campaign playing two games and they lost 4-2 away to Rijeka yesterday and drawing the other. Hajduk have a very young side, average age must be about 21-22, they qualified for this round after beating Dundalk 3-2 over two legs but lost their home game 2-1 - when they were only 1.4 for the win. They have a number of promising youngsters like 16 year old Nikola Vlasic who is interesting a number of top clubs but they don't look like much of a team to me - only a couple of players are over 24, most are 18-22. I think this has initially been priced on name rather than the abilities of the sides, the odds on Karagandy are dropping and I don't think the 1.83 is available anymore, I think at the very least the home side will get the draw but with the European experience they have in the side and their formidable home record they are worth a play for the straight win too. Far from comfortable but Shakter got the job done in the end. Hajduk played well but their defending is far too naive, won't win games at this level unless they defend better.

Re: Europa League Third Qual Round First Leg - Thurs 31st July St Johnstone will be without their talisman Stevie May tonight due to a thigh strain,not confirmed but it looks like they will be going 4-5-1 with McClaren up front on his own.I believe this match will have very few goals and under 2.5 is a must bet at 8/13 Bet365.Ive done a small bet of correct score 0-0 at 7/1 if the game plays out the way i expect.It would be wise to wait for conformation that Stevie May is not playing but i'm going for it.

Re: Europa League Third Qual Round First Leg - Thurs 31st July Thanks Mikki24,but im already on.Im just going from the home teams perspective.Without May they plan to keep it tight.If Trnava play open attacking football then i hope their finishing is as bad as you say.Its a very important game for St Johnstone and they cant afford to go all out attack without Stevie May.I see a 0-0 1-0 0-1 or 1-1,but if Trnava are as attacking as you say,it will get scary for me.
