Re: Champions League Second Qualifying Round 2nd Leg - Tues 22nd & Wed 23rd July I wouldn't advise anyone takes the current odds available on Maccabi keeping a clean sheet - I won't take lower than 1.55 I don't think. Thought Maccabi were fairly awful last week and this game is being played on neutral ground due to the problems in Israel. I have taken a couple of bets on Celtic tomorrow, this is another game being played at a neutral venue due to the Commonweath Games, so it will be played at Murrayfield. The first leg was pretty much one-sided, Celtic hit the bar three times and Kris Commons must have had 6 chances on his own, KR looked like what they are - a part time side up against a far better side. I'm certain Celtic will win this game and they should win it by at least three goals given the way the first game went. Celtic have obviously had another week of training so they should be that bit sharper. Kris Commons is a doubt with an injury picked up at the weekend but from Delia's latest comments I think he will start the game, he is a key player as far as Celtic are concerned and he ran the show in the first game. The pitch won't be a problem as the surface is said to be immaculate, I expect to see a similar pattern to the first game with Celtic controlling possession even more as the home side and KR looking to hit on the break, they didn't create much at all in the first game and should create even less in this one, I can see them concentrating on keeping the score as low as possible, even the KR coach said following the first game that there is a massive gulf between the sides. Wouldn't expect a massive crowd by Celtic standards but there will be a minimum of 30k there, the game isn't on TV so that might boost it up to 35k+. Over 2.5 goals and both teams not to score is a way of going around the poor prices available on the handicaps - although it offers less security. I think this will be either 2 or 3-0, and I don't see KR scoring so for me it is better to take 2.5 rather than the 1.66 available on a -2EH. I wouldn't normally take such a big handicap on a side like Celtic who generally don't score that many but the price makes it worth a play imo, not one to go crazy on though. The win to nil price is alright, I've taken a bit of a risk as some of the usual firms haven't priced it up yet so there might be better available tomorrow, I might top-up if this is the case but only by another couple of points. Celtic to Win to Nil - 1.72 - bet365 - 4 Points Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score - No - 2.5 - bet365 - 1.5 Points

Re: Champions League Second Qualifying Round 2nd Leg - Tues 22nd & Wed 23rd July I think it's safe to say that I'm targeting the both teams to score - no market. 5pts Sutjeska vs FC Sheriff - Both teams to score - No @ 1.75 Betway I think this has a strong shot at coming in. Sheriff won the first leg pretty convincingly, statistics wise (13:2 corners, 9:0 shots on target, 12:3 shots wide). Interestingly these two sides faced each other last year at the very same stage, where Sheriff drew their home game 1-1 before demolishing Sutjeska 0-5 away from home. Sheriff ought to win this game with a bit to spare, but I'll take the slightly safer option and back both teams not to find the back of the net. 5pts Karabakh vs Valletta - Both teams to score - No @ 1.73 Bet365 Karabakh won the 1st leg 0-1 and honestly I don't know jack about either team. Just going off the statistics of the 1st leg, 66% possession, 5:7 corners, 0:7 shots on target, 2:3 shots wide all in favour for Karabakh away from home. Valetta also lost one of their defenders to a red card in the first leg. We should see a tight 2nd leg where Karabakh should dominate possession again and limit Valletta's chances of scoring. 5pts HB Torshavn vs Partizan - Both teams to score - No @ 2.10 PaddyPower Partizan won the first leg convincingly 3-0. HB Torshavn's league starts in 5 days after this game, and if I were the manager I would give a couple of players a run out and not take this leg seriously with the tie already over. Partizan's league begins in two and a half weeks' time and I think that alone will allow their manager to field a strong team again. Partizan had 10:1 corners, 6:0 shots on target, 7:1 shots wide and 65% possession in their favour during the first leg and I expect to see more of the same here. Instead of taking the skinny odds on Partizan to win, I am much happier backing both teams not to score and much more appealing odds. 5pts Skenderbeu vs BATE - Both teams to score - No @ 1.67 PaddyPower BATE dominated the first leg but were unable to convert their chances against the Albanian side as the first leg ended 0:0. BATE had 2 cards compared to Skenderbeu's 5 cards, 8:5 corners, 7:1 shots on target, 4:2 shots wide, 59% possession in favour of BATE. With the tie finely poised, 1 goal should be enough to win it and it looks more likely to come from the side from Belarus based on the first leg. Skenderbeu have played 4 friendlies before the 1st leg and they lost 3 of those and won 1. Both teams to score - no would have landed in 3 of those matches as well. 3pts Zalgris vs Dinamo Zagreb - Both teams to score - No @ 2.10 PaddyPower Dinamo Zagreb won the 1st leg 2-0. Since then they have started their season and won their 1st league game 4-0 3 days later. With their league game to come 3 days after the 2nd leg, I think there is a small chance for rotation given how one early goal for Zalgris could turn the game on its head. Regardless I think this has a decent chance of coming in against their Lithuanian oppositions given the statistics in the first leg, 6:2 corners, 4:0 shots on target, 9:5 shots wide, 69% possession for Dinamo Zagreb. 5pts Celtic vs Reykjavik - Both teams to score - No @ 1.62 Bet365 Celtic dominated the first leg away from home and won 1-0 thanks to a goal in the 82nd min. 2:11 corners, 1:5 shots on target, 2:8 shots off target, 67% possession all in favour of Celtic tells us that they pretty much had good control of the game. Reykjavik are in the middle of the season but wiht their next game in 5 days time I doubt that would affect the team's selection given how the tie is finely poised, whereas Celtic's are some ways off from beginning. Celtic ought to win this with a bit to spare based on the statistics but I fancy the slighter safer market of both teams not to score. Would be silly not to risk a point on an accumulator after staking this much and at these odds :) 1pt 6 fold @ 31.58 PaddyPower

Re: Champions League Second Qualifying Round 2nd Leg - Tues 22nd & Wed 23rd July

I'd really like to hear some opinions on sides and over/unders as many books do not offer "both teams to score" options. Thank you
What are your thoughts on sides and overs/unders? Maybe you ought to open up another account if yours doesn't offer the both teams to score market?

I think on average at least five bookies are offering odds the "both teams to score" market for these games ... http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-coupons/both-teams-to-score

Re: Champions League Second Qualifying Round 2nd Leg - Tues 22nd & Wed 23rd July I'm going to the Celtic game tonight and if it goes to Extra Time I'm going to miss my bus back down to London. So gonna have a small stake on the 1-0 Reykjavik Correct Score at 100/1 so that if it does go to Extra Time and I miss my bus I can at least pay for a train ticket home. Not a bad insurance policy for a quid!

I wouldn't advise anyone takes the current odds available on Maccabi keeping a clean sheet - I won't take lower than 1.55 I don't think. Thought Maccabi were fairly awful last week and this game is being played on neutral ground due to the problems in Israel.
Maccabi Tel Aviv v Santa Coloma Well Maccabi Tel Aviv have gone beyond the price I requested in my first post and 1.61 looks a more reasonable price, the 1.25 initially offered from ladbrokes was an insult to be honest. I don't think there is any way Maccabi will be as bad as they were in the first leg, as I stated last week a lot of their training preparations had been disrupted by the bombing raids on Israel and they looked pretty disjointed. The match will be played in Larnaca, Cyprus due to the ongoing security concerns, with another week of training behind them they should be sharper and get the job done fairly comfortably, Oscar Garcia is a top coach and has spoken of the importance of the game to give the supporters something to cheer given the current plight in their homeland. Maccabi Tel Aviv to Keep a CS - 1.61 - betinternet - 4 Points Maccabi Tel Aviv to Win to Nil - 1.61 - betinternet - 4 Points HB Torshavn v Partizan Belgrade Partizan won the first leg 3-0 and dominated from start to finish, HB barely had a shot on goal. Partizan now travel to the Faroe's with a largely unchanged squad although I think a couple of players haven't travelled, they suffered a disrupted journey though with a flight getting cancelled due to technical difficulties so they were stranded in Aberdeen for 3 hours and only got to the Faroe's at midnight last night so not ideal preparation. HB also play on a plastic pitch which it would have been nice to get some playing time on prior to the match. There is no doubt that Partizan are the better side but with a 3-0 lead already in the bag, the questionable results they have had away from Europe in previous years, the travel problems and the plastic pitch, I think under 3.5 goals is the way to go here. The Faroe's don't have the quality to cause real problems but I can see them fighting for the clean sheet and Partizan having no real desire to thrash them. Under 3.5 Goals - 1.64 - 32red - 3 Points

Re: Champions League Second Qualifying Round 2nd Leg - Tues 22nd & Wed 23rd July

Malmo must come good surely ?
This type of reasoning - "team A must do the job surely" - is a recipe for betting disaster. Malmo were awful in the 1st leg. Plain awful. I read from a Swedish football expert (I think on this forum) that their best player is injured and they just sold two other key players. I think this game should be "under 2.5" but I am not betting on it.

Re: Champions League Second Qualifying Round 2nd Leg - Tues 22nd & Wed 23rd July TNS v Slovan (dnb) @ 3,75 365 (2/10) Think TNS are underrated and worth a small try here because they have a good chance of a positive result and it wont be surprise even if they manage to progress further. Welsh sides havent had much success in euro competitions previously and that may be a factor in those odds. + people will look at the statistics of the first leg and blindly go with Slovan. It's true that Slovan dominated at home but they are an average side and half of their shots were forced or very weak. They looked clueless especially in front of goal and were easily opened at the back at couple of occasions but referees denied TNS with two wrongly called offsides to open the score. Welsh would know they have a great chance and expecting to be very motivated and give their best to win this game. They are undefeated at home for almost two years and although the strenght of opponents domesticaly can not be compared with Slovak team it should effect positive on the players and they'll be confident they can get a result here. Well, it's about as close to a full house as you can get, 92nd minute goal killed me..won't moan too much but it is bloody annoying. Celtic were pretty comfortable the whole way through, KR were outclassed and Celtic should have had a few more especially in the first half when it looked like they might run riot. I still think Maccabi are a poor side but they were better than last week, Coloma were a bit worse but still very good for an Andorran side, if they could get a bit of a goal threat they could have caused Maccabi problems, they only conceded the second because they were pushing forward trying to score. Bloody Partizan..

Re: Champions League Second Qualifying Round 2nd Leg - Tues 22nd & Wed 23rd July Well done on the Maccabi, one, Hastgill, which I followed, even though I only got 1.50 on the BTTS. Watched most of it and Santa never threatened, didn't even get a set piece, I don't think, which is usually the threat. Actually think 1.30 was about right, was surprised at how comfortable Maccabi were.

That was the plan, I looked on bet365 and hills and neither had the game in-play, assumed no-one had it, didn't look on betfair though..
