Re: Binchy's Lays Hi Binchy, well that may be a step too high. Don't get greedy. Your system runs fine and has shown stable profit but as any system there are ups and downs and if you pick a down trend at the moment when rising the stakes you will get emotionally involved -and that is never a good circumstance when running a system. There is absolutely no need to move yourself out of your comfort position ! Rising the stake is ok but I advise you not to go higher than 1.5 times of the usual stake. If you want to add another factor to your system I would suggest to play higher stakes when a horse is double-nominated (in both systems). You have a sensational strike rate here !!! Re: Binchy's Lays I started using you system 2 weeks ago and always lay to liability. £200 bank so max liability is £10 per bet I also set a maximum lay at 5.0 and leave in running I will be doubling my liability when my bank doubles Keep up the good work Binchy Dance of Heroes just lost although he was layed down to 1.35 in running

Re: Binchy's Lays Do it after a poor spell which may give less chance of hitting the bank and increase each week in accordance to bank with percentage is what id do. I disagree with increasing stake if falls in both systems as your already doubling up the risk! You need to consider commission generation if you use betunfair also. If you win so much and use your £1k commission allowance you have to pay 20% commission on winnings less charges which hits the profit. Sent from my XT1032 using PL Forum

Re: Binchy's Lays I think doubling the stake is fine and not too risky. You started off risking 6% (at most) of your bank and all this does is keep the exposure at that level. You would need 17 consecutive losses of the maximum £120 to break your bank and the system doesn't come anywhere near that. On a side note thanks for putting this up - it seems outstanding.

Re: Binchy's Lays Binchy, I follow your thread regularly as I also am developing a lay based system. Have you (or thread followers) giving any thought to optimising the timing of the bet ? I note your yesterday's lay, War Alert went off at SP of 10/11 vs 2.7/1 on your post. For most of us, it's not practical to be constantly monitoring prices, so we tend to have a choice of early (around 10 am for me), or take BSP. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Re: Binchy's Lays Hello Snoopdog. I believe the current system does optimise the time of the bet. The reason in my opinion that the thread is successful if because the bets are usually put up the night before, when there is low liquidity in the market, hence false favourites are created and we jump on the back of that. I don't have the stats of my selections SP's but I am willing to bet the majority have gone off at much higher prices than the ones I have placed the bet at, as they are false favourites. I too am restricted by time, I work 7-5 Monday to Friday so the only time I can make the selections is the night before, apart from Saturdays where I usually do the selections in the morning. Thanks (Also forgot to mention, as Raylin says below, that there were two non runners in the race yesterday. Unfortunately, there was is no way of accounting for non-runners, apart from in-running betting)

Re: Binchy's Lays Yes Binchy I have noticed the majority do drift in price although yesterday there were two withdrawals in the War Alerts race. I normally lay the horses at 9:00 am and always ask for a price below 5.0 I leave the lay as a keep bet and 95% of the time bets get matched before the off or in play.Keep up the good work Binchy
