Re: Ligue 2 > February 14th - 17th At the first look Istres and Tours should both score, and it looks a high-scoring game statistically...Next one on my Over 2,5 list would be Chatearoux vs Troyes, and possibly a -1,5 AH with Dijon as a small stake one, as Bastia managed to keep it real tight away recently.

Re: Ligue 2 > February 14th - 17th I always liked backing Chateauroux at home, they often deliver well on their own ground. Their form is pretty good in recent weeks too with back to back wins after some tough losses. This should boost their morale and at home they are always a strong force. They face a tough side in Troyes, who are doing pretty well this season but away they seem to struggle too often. With these odds for the home side, I'll give them a fair chance on the +0.25 line with some draw cover too. 6-2-3 overall record at home with goal difference 20-13 which is fine especially for their table standing. While Troyes has a 2-3-6 record away with goal difference 12-15. Not convincing if you ask me but still they screwed me once this year so I'll be carefull with being too optimistic. I expect a tight game and H2H also shows that these fixtures are likely unders especially when Chateauroux is the home side. They are known for their solid victories and they can keep it really tight at the back. With 20 goals scored this season at home, we don't have to worry about their potential upfront. This is their group who travelled. They will miss 2 regular forwards Dupuis and Bourgeois which is a small blow but they have a lot of guys in their team who can score a goal so no big worries there. De freitas is also out midfielder played 15 games so far but they have decent replacements for him. 2 young defenders are injured too Polomat and Dudouit but they are not important. Their defense and midfield are at full power so that's the most important thing for me! Organised teams at home are hard to break down and they often find some space to score a goal because of the opponent often looses the ball in midfield against a tight team. Les gardiens : BONNEFOI, MILLIERAS Les défenseurs : NESTOR, BAIN, FOURNIER, OBIANG, AFOUGOU, ESOR Les milieux : TAIT, CHAMED, PEUGET, GUERRIERO, KINKELA Les attaquants: MABOULOU, GARITA, MAKENGO. This is Troyes group: Le groupe troyen : Dreyer, Petric, Carole, Colin, Jarjat, Rincon, Saunier, Fahid Ben Khalfallah, K Camara. Darbion, Benjamin Nivet, Quentin Othon, Jimmy Cabot, Ghislain Gimbert, Gope-Fenepej, Corentin Jean. They are without 2 regular defenders Lacour and N'Diaye [17 and 15 games], regular midfielder Court [18games and who also scored the winning goal last game against Lens] and a regular forward Marcos [16 games 2 goals]. They can still field a good line-up though and both teams have some missings so no real advantage here. I still fancy Chateauroux not too loose the game and a 1-0 would do the job. Their defense is rock solid most of the time when playing at home and Troyes rarely scores more than 1 goal away from home. Home side won the last 3 out of 4 meetings against Troyes, 3 times with 1-0. I'll try medium stakes on the home side +0.25 odds around 1.80. Small stakes on the home win odds around 2,90 and 1 point on correct score 1-1 for some cover odds of 5.50. [Most likely outcome if they don't win]. Goodluck all!

Re: Ligue 2 > February 14th - 17th Nancy/Créteil Louis is in extra form for Nancy: he is slightly doubtful but he should play. Nancy showed an offensive face in their last 2 games vs Tours(W1-3) and Le Havre(W2-3), but defensively they conceded a lot. They in front of their fans and are still fighting for the promotion, they should keep on playing very offensive. On the other side, Creteil is also satisfying on attack, vs Clermont (W2-0) they had many good chances, but defensively they are clearly not enough concentrated on marking. So their best strength is the attack, and they need points, they can't wait on their half serenly. IMO we should see goals on this game. bet: over 2.25 @ 1.87 12bet stake 5/10, also BTTS on european bookies is good

Re: Ligue 2 > February 14th - 17th Dijon – CA Bastia For Dijon, the main problem remains in midfield. They still miss Gastien, Mulumba and Baradi, all of whom are pretty solid ballwinners. Even youngster William Remy is ruled out, another who is capable of playing for them in this position. But on the positive side they welcome back key captain and defender Cedric Varrault, also midfielder Jordan Marie is back in the squad, and they’ll need him. CA Bastia miss 2 or 3 defenders here, Truchet, Camara and Salis. The rest of the squad is unaffected, but it’s worth noting that CAB played 120 mins on Tuesday night against Angers in the cup, and fell to a very emotional late defeat. They also had to play with just 10 men from the hour mark onwards. Some teams have managed to perform remarkably well this season in France following midweek cup matches, even those who have played extra time have performed alright, But I don’t think CAB will fall into that category. Realistically, the CDF was all they had left this season and now they’ve been knocked out of it, heads could drop. It does seem that CAB play better away from home and I’ve definitely noticed an improvement from them in 2014. But last Friday they were shockingly poor facing up to Chateauroux and if they play like that here Dijon will dismantle them. The Corsicans are still a very poor side even if they have actually improved of late. Couple that in with the cup loss midweek and I just struggle to see how they cope both physically and mentally. Even under normal circumstances I would fancy Dijon here anyway. Les Rouges are right in the mixer for the promotion spots and can’t afford to slip up in a match like this. DFCO are one of the best home sides in Ligue 2 and always seem to play well here. Their 8-2-1 record has to be respected, in fact they’ve won 8 of their last 9 at Le Stade Gaston Gerard which is superb. Dijon at home are one of the fastest starting teams in the division and they could possibly have this game sewn up by halftime. In recent matches against Istres and Brest they came out of the traps so quickly the match was over before their opponents could even blink. For those who like to back HT/FT or 1st half outright, Dijon could definitely be worth a look. I think the hosts will dominate from start to finish and I predict a blowout win. A -1.25 handicap seems very generous all things considered. This has all the makings of a potential Valentine’s Day Massacre. Prediction: Dijon 3-0 CA Bastia Recommended bet: Dijon -1.25 (asian) @ 2.01 7/10

Re: Ligue 2 > February 14th - 17th Caen/Arles: Arles are very solid: they didn't loose since 10 games. Defensively they are quite strong, with the best defence of L2 while offensively they miss a good striker able to finish the job. That's the only reason why they are not at the top 3 of L2. Caen played a really hard game vs Lille (3-3) in cup tuesday. They were eliminited after pk, and spent a lot of energy in that match. Furthermore, Agouazzi and Seube are injuried. I think it will be harder than bookies think for them to find openings in Arles defence, and I think 0.75 is a good value at that that price. Bet: Arles+0.75 @ 1.84

Re: Ligue 2 > February 14th - 17th Nimes – Metz This is a tough game to call in terms of a result. Nimes have definitely been much better under the management of Rene Marsiglia, but this’ll be a tough test today. Metz had a poor January but rebounded well last week by beating Caen 2-1. Team news is relatively favourable for both teams. Nimes don’t miss anyone of note and although Metz do have a couple of guys out (Milan, Eduardo) neither is massively important to them. All in all, I just see this being another open game of football containing quite a few goals. Since Marsiglia took over, 4 out of 5 Nimes games have ended over 2.5 and he’s adopted a more attacking approach than his predecessor. Metz are one of the stronger attacks in Ligue 2 and are usually good for a goal or two. This time the over 2.25 line offers some good value so I’m willing to hit it for 4 units. Prediction: Nimes 2-2 Metz Recommended bet: Over 2.25 goals @ 2.02 4/10

Re: Ligue 2 > February 14th - 17th Caen – Arles I’m not sure here. This match all depends on how Arles approach the fixture. They could either be very defensive and totally park the bus, or actually offer a bit more going forwards where they can be dangerous on the break at pace. If the latter happens, then the goal line of over/under 2 might be very low indeed, but like I said, there’s a risk they’ll just sit back and take anchor. Caen played ET just 3 days ago in the cup so could be flat. I prefer to swerve this game, I have a feeling that Arles coach Franck Dumas won lose against his old team. Prediction: Caen 1-1 Arles Clermont – Niort This wont be much of a classic and should contain few goals. Neither team is particularly strong offensively, especially Clermont who can’t seem to score in a brothel right now! I think 0-0 is a major candidate here. For now, I’m not betting but if Clermont’s price rises much more then I might be forced to take them, even though I don’t fancy them massively. The hosts are already bigger than they should be, any more and the odds will be a farce. Prediction: Clermont 0-0 Niort Chateauroux – Troyes I think this will be an open game of football and should be quite exciting to watch. Troyes like to attack and if forced into an open game Chateauroux aren’t too bad going forward either. In terms of a result, I can’t call it. C’roux are usually pretty good at home on their own artificial surface, but in theory Troyes should suit playing on it. The visitors have a lot of technical players who I could see performing well tonight. I will predict a 2-2 draw but I think this match is capable of going either way. If the 2.25 line was any sort of price I would back the overs, but the odds are too short. Prediction: Chateauroux 2-2 Troyes Istres – Tours This is another game which should be open and attacking. Neither team can defend properly and their main strengths are in attack. I’m not sure who will win it, gun to my head I’ll say Istres because on the road Tours’ recent results have been pretty poor. But this could end up something ridiculous like 3-3 if chances are taken. I really like taking the overs in this match but there is no value at all. Some bookies are as short 1.75 on over 2.5 which is way too low for a French Ligue 2 match. Bear in mind that only about 40% of games end over 2.5 in this division. My own new rules forbid me from betting here, but for sure I do fancy a few goals. Predictiction: Istres 2-1 Tours Nancy – Creteil The big news here is the fitness of Nancy star player Jeff Louis. He’s been in superb form recently and is definitely the hottest player in Ligue 2 right now, but he might not be able to suit up tonight because of a concussion. Obviously if he isn’t deemed fit then it’d be a massive blow for Nancy, he’s scored 5 goals in his last 2 games! This should in theory be another open game because both teams seem to enjoy attacking football right now. Nancy have been known as defensive under Pablo Correa, but it’s difficult to imagine them going into their shell in a match like this. This is another fixture where the over 2.25 bet tempts me, but the price just isn’t quite big enough yet. I want a bit more value before I commit any money to this potential bet. Prediction: Nancy 2-1 Creteil

Re: Ligue 2 > February 14th - 17th Pretty happy with the Dijon match, that went pretty much as expected. Nimes - Metz was one of those games you just knew was gonna end 0-0 from an early stage - and not because there were no chances. I honestly have no idea how no goals were scored here. Both keepers made good saves, one that Merville made just after HT for Nimes was truly world class. Metz started a 17 year old inexperienced striker and typically all of the chances fell to him in the 1H, wasting them all. I'm almost certain if just 1 goal had been scored in the first half here (or even in the first hour) this match would've gone over. The match was like a volcano ready to explode but nobody could find that elusive goal! Ah well, thats football

Re: Ligue 2 > February 14th - 17th

Chateauroux is my best moneymaker :) very nice result bet on Dijon, shame on me that i didn't take them :( PS: Meatman do you ever try to bet on results? I mean you nearly get one or more exact results every week...
I've predicted 29 exact correct scores right out of 230 predictions in Ligue 2 this season. That's a 12% hit rate. It would probably have made some profit, even if some 1-0s and 1-1s are only priced @ something like 6.0 odds

Re: Ligue 2 > February 14th - 17th I think Lens might sneak it something like 1-0. But they have produced 2 really sub-standard performances recently which makes me worried about them. I'm hoping something nice becomes available IR but this isn't a match I fancy betting on before it starts
