boggen
Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Wednesday January 1st Tranmere - Wolverhampton League 1 England Wednesday 1/1 16:00 Prediction: Wolverhampton Odds: 1,80 Stake: 6/10 units Bookmaker: Bet365 Game review: Tranmere placed 20th in the table, 4 losses in the last 6 and is here facing one of the better teams in the division, Wolves. Tranmere here facing not only Wolves, but also a defensive injury crisis. Right back Holmes, injured, left back Ridgehalgh likely returning to Huddersfield, centre defender Goodison misses out, and McNulty recently sick, full back Otsemobor injured. Tranmere might play with one or two players who has barely trained. Wolves isn't in their best form, but this must be a great chance for them. Clearly the better side, plenty of more depth in their squad and with offensive players than can really hurt a weak Tranmere. No hesitation here from us. Yep can't see anything less than a win for us. Just to add to this. We played some of our best football of the season against Orient yesterday and how they came away with a point is anyones guess. But that's beside the point. The point is at the moment Jackett is persisting with a kid up front who hasn't scored in 23 games to try and boost his confidence. We had midfielder Jack Price injured at half time yesterday too and without him next to him McDonald is just not the same player, and even worse if Edwards (Price's likely replacement) is given the nod. We looked a completely different team in the 2nd half (for the worst) when the forced changes were made. We also looked a bit short of ideas. Tranmere were possibly the poorest team I have seen at Molineux this season yet we only won 2-0. They might look at this as though they have nothing to lose and will come at us, which should play into our hands. However, best to wait for the team sheet. If Griffiths doesn't start, and as we boast the best defence in the league, the best bet for me would be the unders. Under 2.5 goals with William Hill @4/5 Stake: 4 units
godofhorses
Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Wednesday January 1st Milton Keynes Dons v Colchester Notts County v Bradford City Peterborough United v Brentford Stevenage v Gillingham I can't see a thread for BTS and a do like a little accy with some good results lately on Both to Score. I've done all the above plus Plymouth V Tqy in a small accy. I am finding that the bookmakers are getting to grips with the prices on these by them offering 1/2 on Port Vale V Rotherham which was the only one to let me down the other day. Jase82
Crewe V Carlisle Under 2.5 goals @ 2 -bet365. These two would normally be considered overish sort of sides but I can't help but feel this game will be fairly tight. The reverse fixture ended 2-1 courtesy of a late Crewe goal, in a game I backed to go over 2.5 goals. Crewe are in desperate need for the points here as they fight against revelation. What worries me with these two is that the goals have dried up. Carlisle have only scored twice away in their last five while Crewe have scored three times. Neither have really conceded that many either, with the odd game going over. I just think if one team scores they'll shut up shop with a lot at stake so it might not be as open a game as expected. Jase82
Tranmere do look like they're in all sorts of trouble defensively although that sort of information has had a predictably huge impact on the price. Tranmere have been rubbish defensively this season anyway though and losing two more defenders probably won't make them any worse :lol
boggen
Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Wednesday January 1st Rotherham United - Coventry City League 1 England Wednesday 1/1 16:00 Prediction: Over 3,5 goals Odds: 2,80 Stake: 2/10 units Bookmaker: Unibet Game review: Coventry involved, a guarantee for goals at both ends. Even more now, both teams need to make some rather big changes defensively due to sickness and suspensions, Rotherham has offensive capacity, just like Coventry. Both teams has weaknesses defensively, especially today. We really think this game could have plenty of goals in it. Over 3,5 goals a obvious choice for us. 2-2? UnitedForever
Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Wednesday January 1st I reckon some games will be postponed today because of the weather. The forecast in the North West: "A few showers at first, but becoming increasingly wet and windy from late morning as outbreaks of rain spread in from the south. This rain is likely to turn heavy and persistent in places, with gales affecting coastal areas." It's better to wait to see which games will be affected in League 1 and League 2. thgreatgambler
Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Wednesday January 1st Already, Letyon Orient vs Bristol City, Stevenage -Gilligham, from League one, the home games of Fleetwood, Newport, Bristol Rovers and Northampton have all been called off. Hereford, Salisbury and Briantree from the conference all called off. I hate when this happens, aweful low scoring affairs for games that survive the weather.
