Re: Sky Bet Championship - Saturday 31st August DOncaster-Bournemouth 1 Doncaster seems that they can score goals. They have won 2 ouf of 3 of their home games this season + scoring 2 against Wigan away who is one of the top 5 candidates for promotion. On the other hand Bournemouth is two different teams when playing at home and away. They've won all their 3 games at the home ground but losing their 2 visits and they were what a defeats...5:1 and 6:1.Given the fact that Doncaster is strong playing home team i will go for a home win here because i cannot see the odds keeping level much longer. What do you think?

Re: Sky Bet Championship - Saturday 31st August Derby v Burnley - Home Win @ 2.00 Bet365 Derby are the standout team in the fixtures for me this weekend. Yet to win at home this season, after two tricky matches drawing with Blackburn and losing just by 1 to a Leicester side who look much stronger than Derby. They've managed two away wins against Brighton who were one of the best home sides last season and ground out a 3-0 over newly promoted Yeovil. Burnley have also seen off Yeovil, but went to Brighton and succumbed to a 2-0 defeat. A trip to Derby in a match they are effectively 3 goals down before they start (based solely on the vs Brighton form) should see a relatively straight forward home win. Derby have a very settled side going in to this one, with just 14 players used so far this season.

Re: Sky Bet Championship - Saturday 31st August Leeds vs QPR The televised early kick off in the championship this week sees Promotion favourites QPR visit Elland Road to take a Leeds side who have so far been impressive under the stewardship off McDermott. So far in the 4 league games played this season both sides have relied on good defensive displays to take the points. They have so far conceded a total of 3 & 2 goals respectively with both of QPR's away games being U2.5 goals. I fear for the television viewer that this game will be played in a similar manner to Bolton v QPR last weekend were goal scoring chances were very limited. Despite the return of Hoilett & potential unlikely return of Phillips I think that the Leeds back four (No new injury issues for Leeds) will be able to handle the abundance of attacking threat in the QPR side. In turn I feel that Leeds don't really offer one of the greatest attacking threats in the league this season (5 goals in 4 games) & therefore can see them offering little to trouble a QPR side who in their last 2 away games have leaked a combined total of 5 shots on target against. BET = U2.5 GOALS - 5/6 @ Sky BET

Re: Sky Bet Championship - Saturday 31st August Middllesborough-Sheffield I think this can be a HW. Middlesborough only missing Richardson and Hines. They also played very well against Wigan last Week. Sheffield maybe a little bit under pressure, because they now only with 0 Victorys in the League and tomorrow maybe without Buxton. And Borough may be will or must winning, because after Nationalteam-Break they play 2 hard away games against Ipswich and Nottingham.

Re: Sky Bet Championship - Saturday 31st August Brighton vs Millwall I think this game is a pretty straight forward home win really. Brighton are a team that I expect to be battling for play-off places while Millwall I thoroughly expect to be involved in a relegation battle that I just can't see them winning. Millwall have had a miserable start to the season, only picking up 1 point away to Sheffield Wednesday (Another Relegation Candidate) last weekend. Brighton meanwhile are on the up, winning their last 2 games after being unfortunate to lose their opening two against 2 strong teams in Leicester and Derby. Brighton do have quite a heavy injury list in the striker department, but will welcome Keith Andrews who can get goals from midfield & in striker Ulloa have a man who has performed impressively since arriving in January thus in my opinion providing them with enough going forward to see off a weak Millwall team. BET = HOME WIN (Brighton) - 4/5 @ William Hill

Re: Sky Bet Championship - Saturday 31st August Yeovil vs Reading Yeovil have only scored one goal so far in the Championship & I see this being a problem for them going forward with no strikers who have proven track records at this level. Meanwhile Reading have had an indifferent start to the season, however with such players as Le Fondre, Drenthe & McAnuff in their squad they should have enough going forward to ask serious questions of the Yeovil backline & really start their push for promotion back to the Premier League. The impending sale of Kebe shouldn't have too much effect on the team as he is yet to appear for them this season. For some-one who likes to take a bit of a risk Reading to win to nil here @ 13/5 with Bet365 could be quite interesting, however personally I will go for a slightly safer option. BET = AWAY WIN (Reading) - 21/20 @ Bet365

Re: Sky Bet Championship - Saturday 31st August 4pts Leeds vs QPR - Under 2.5 goals 5/6 BetVictor These two are both good sides and should both be in or around the top six at the end of the season. Both look strong defensively and reliant on one man for their goals so I would expect a fairly tight game here. Brian McDermott probably wouldn’t admit to it but I’m sure both sides will accept a draw and move on to supposedly easier matches but whichever way the result goes I don’t expect to see three goals here. Re: Sky Bet Championship - Saturday 31st August Leeds + 0.25 QPR @ 1.775 Bet365 (3 Points) It looks a tight set of fixtures this week in the championship but Leeds are the one who stand out for me for a bit of value. They've made a good start to the season and are unbeaten so far. If they win today they go top of the table at this early stage. QPR are hot favourites to win the league and they do have a number of good players. I watched their game v Bolton last week and they definitely deserved the win. But there was something about them which failed to massively impressed me. Bar Shaun Wright Phillips (whose about as useful as his brother Bradley these days)they looked to be lacking a bit of pace and balance in their side. Matt Phillips could address this when he returns but thats not today and Junior Hoilett could also make a difference but I don't think he will start either. They just seemed to lack a bit of urgency and though they beat what was a poor Bolton side on the day, I didn't think they looked world beaters. In their other away match they drew at Huddersfield and I think Leeds are well capable of picking up at least a point. Ross McCormack has just signed a new contract which will be a massive boost for the club and fans in light of bids from other clubs. Elland Rd is never the easiest place to go and with QPR being big favourites I think the crowd will be well up for this and a certain Joey Barton could be in for a tough time. It will be interesting to see how he handles it as I've seen it go either way with him before. I really don't think there is too much in it between these sides so with the home advantage, Leeds definitely have the edge in my eyes. For my money, the prices are the wrong way round and as such I plan to take advantage of it.

Re: Sky Bet Championship - Saturday 31st August Middlesbro v Sheff Wed Home win 21/10 (william hill). Great Price considering Middlesbro have won their last 5 at home to Sheff Wed in all competitions. Also Middlesbro have been playing better and better without really getting the results they deserve. JutKiewitz (Middlesbro striker) always has plenty of shots at home and I would expect him to get on the scoresheet. Johnathan Woodgate has also been in impressive form for boro's defence. Last week at Wigan they created 13 attempts at goal with that form (2-2 draw) being better than Sheff Wed draw with Millwall. Middlesbro are overdue a win at home and this is the ideal game to get it.

Re: Sky Bet Championship - Saturday 31st August What the hell is going on here ? Blackpool again 1-0 , now to Watford ? In 1st half, Watford hit the bar, 4/5x post, penalty kick missed, and a ton of missed chances !! Blackpool bullied and beaten all the way, and 80', here's your goal, you can have it. Final of the story , 1-0 Blackpool. A team that have players playing in different positions that aren't of theirs, a tiny squad, managers that don't give a damn about the team, and they keep winning ? Please, enlighten me.. Please :wall

It sounds like Blackpool rode their luck in the first half. But the bottom line is Watford's price was too short and for me that's why they shouldn't have been backed. On another note not a good day for me today with a 3 points loss. Thought the value was on Leeds but QPR might be a tougher nut to crack than I gave them credit for this season.

Re: Sky Bet Championship - Saturday 31st August For anyone interested, just thought I'd give some feedback on Blackburn-Bolton game. It's the best we (Rovers) have played for 5 years as a team, we were terrific today. Our attackers look different class at present & we look likely to score every time we attack. Saying that, we're always liable to a defensive lapse. BTTS when Rovers are at home is probably the call for the foreseeable future. As for Bolton, they are all over the shop at the back without Dawson. Look dangerous out wide with Eagles & Lee but Beckford can't hit a barn door. 6 or 7 would not have flattered us today.
