Re: La Liga > Sat 1st June I think Zaragoza will win this game, due to they are fighting for relegation, atletico have nothing to play for. One doubt I have for this game is Falcao, this could be the last game for him, so they might have something to play for after all, but Relegation just seems too much to lose for zaragoza.

Re: La Liga > Sat 1st June I like the following in La Liga today

Celta Vigo Espanyol

Away win has all the value. at 11/2 Espanyol are a great price. This is against a home team that has not kept a clean sheet in 9 games

Deportivo Lacoruna Sociedad

Sociedad will be motivated for an European place. They must win this game for a chance for Champions league football next year. Valencia face a tough trip to Sevilla ....

Levante Real Betis

No to BTTS. Goals have dried up for Levante . They have scored just 2 in 7 home games. They have kept a clean sheet in 3 of their last 5. Low scoring affair here.

Sevilla Valencia

Over 2.5 goals seems better value 4/7 than btts 1/2. Valencia have scored in 8 of their last 9 away games. Sevilla have been over 2.5 goals in 7 of their last 9 . Expect goals here.

Re: La Liga > Sat 1st June Sevilla v Valencia Sevilla will secure a Europa League spot (if they want one!) with all three points, at least until all the appeals are heard next week and Deportivo surely need a win to survive, with the three clubs below them in the table, all facing very win-able home games this evening. Cash strapped Valencia are desperate to get into the CL and have done everything asked of them in recent weeks, winning four in a row without conceding a goal, but they came against teams with an average league placing of 12.25, the last two were a bit of a struggle and although they are very good in these kind of matches, they do traditionally struggle against the stronger La Liga teams. Sevilla have had a disappointing campaign by their own high standards and will expect to challenge for top 4 next season, they did us a big favour by losing at Osasuna last week, but they will surely not want to finish with a home defeat to a direct year on year rival, especially given the stranglehold they have had on Valencia in this fixture, with Sevilla boasting a 8-2-0 record in the last ten meetings in the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium. Last week I wrote: The visitors (Sevilla) are still "fighting" for a Europa League spot, I am not so sure, Sevilla will be looking for a Champions League push next season and will need to be at their best, a run at the "other" competition might well be seem as a needless distraction. They are talking up the prospect, but have not won on the road in over eight months and only once in 18 starts and it will be ultra tough to break that duck at an Osasuna team battling for survival, traditionally strong at home and in a stadium where Sevilla have won just once in ten visits. Osasuna are two points from safety and travel to Real Madrid next week, they will not want to go there needing a result with the four teams below them in the table, all ending the campaign with home games . The vistors have travelled without central defender Federico Fazio (26-3-0 ..... 0-1-6 in the last 7 he has missed !), José Antonio Reyes (26-4-8) and suspended left back Alberto Moreno who has played in the last 13 matches. The hosts are without suspended left winger Nano ( only four starts in 2013), but have no new injuries and for them, this is less about team news anyway and more about desire and commitment. They have spent a lot of time with supporters this week, who have made it clear how they will try and help today and coach Jose Mendilibar has called upon to his players "to play with their head and let the crowd provide the heart". It was very difficult for them to match the intensity of their host, who edged home 2-1, but supporters will expect total commitment this evening and certainly not to lay down and coach Unai Emery will surely want to impress against his former club, more than that, he is a Basque and started his career at Sociedad, he will be "expected" to be seen to help his countrymen", which is very much the Basque way. Matches between teams from the region are always hard fought, but when the clubs can "help each other", they usually do. Emery said his team will fight "tooth and nail" and again repeated that they want that Europe League spot. He remains without Reyes and Fazio (see above), but gets Moreno back to play in the always key left back position. Valencia arrive without influential midfielder Tino Costa (31-1-6), fringe striker Nelson Valdez (28-6-0 .....but only an average of 28 minutes per game) and versatile left sided Andres Guardado (32-1-3). The last match Costa and Guardado both "missed" ( the Mexican actually played 15 minutes) was the 4-2 defeat at Sociedad last month. I would "love" this quote on the hosts if Fazio was playing and I knew 100% that they were up for this, but then we probably wouldn't have got the same odds. This is balanced out by Los Che missing two key players and the fact that if news comes through that Real are losing, they can afford to step off the gas. Under the circumstances, especially as I feel there is a good chance of exactly that happening. Sevilla +0.25 ball

Re: La Liga > Sat 1st June Valencia to win - I have been following them these last weeks, even been on their website, and players were claiming that they had 4 finals to play (before the Vallecano match) and they have duly obliged. Judging the way the Spanish teams approached the Europa league this year I don't think Sevilla gives a toss about this cup. Deportivo to win. Sociedad have been on a slide since their manager announced his departure to coach Rennes, and I guess many of the Sociedad players will be looking for pastures new next season. Betis to win against Levante. The old legs of Levante came out of their slumber last week to beat Bilbao but I wouldn't be surprised if they go back to their resting mode today. Ok Betis might inadvertently qualify for the dreaded EL but for a team which was in the secunda a few years back it could hold some minimum appeal.
